Congrats, and much success to you.

Wow, that's much faster than what I even thought, you must feel like your on cloud nine, the approval takes you to a joyful level , getting the actual date takes you to a whole new level. I had my EKG and labs done today, I will see the physce on nov 5 after that I will be waiting for the final insurance approval then the date for surgery. Today is a great day for you to celebrate, it's no longer a wonder of if its going to happen. Next summer is going to be awesome for the both of us.

I know this doesn't sound too exciting, but when I get this weight off I'm going to take a ton of pictures with my son, I only have a few due to obviously not liking to take pictures. Amongst other things I really do look forward to this. -
Much success to you, your going to be fine.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"

Congratulations on your decision, ground zero is a great way to look at things. I can totally relate to what you have experienced, I've never been thin, I can recall being the fat kid even in kindergarten, it took me a while to make the decision to have surgery, now that I've decided I'm incredibly anxious to get it done. I wish you much success going forward. -

Your headed in the right direction, I'm sorry for your loss, now is the time to turn all the negatives into positives that will give you a more healthy and fulfilling life. I certainly understand where you are coming from, I have diabetes as well and that wasn't enough for me to see the light, what finally opened my eyes is my 11 year old son that wants to do so many things that I'm not willing to at this weight, and thats so unfair to him, but I'm in the process of changing that. Much success to you going forward and congrats on taking the appropriate steps. -
Congrats, I'm guessing my date will be close to yours, I have my initial appointment with the surgeon tomorrow. This is a very helpful tool for before and after surgery that I found. The info that my dietician gave me is pretty much the same as whats on this site plus more. Hope this helps and much success to you. http://www.muhealth.org/documents/bariatric/bariatric%20booklet%20vsg.pdf

That's great, this is the time that we actually don't mind being on the losing bench. Lol. I'm very anxious to get to where you are, I should have a date soon. Congratulations and much success to you. -
I'm 37, I have one child a boy age 11, I work at a bank as a Sr. Loss Mitigation Specialist, Im a very private person, and I respect the privacy of others, I'm considerate, bubbly, a little sarcastic, I'm a great cook, I love to be creative, I make centerpieces and wall designs as a hobby and a side gig, I also like to read and watch court shows, there are so many other things in life that I could be involved in or that I'm curious about, but unfortunately as far back as I can remember my weight has always been a struggle that has been masked behind a smile. I made the decision to have the surgery for multiple reasons, the main two being my son and my health.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"

Mines was realizing that I was not providing a fulfilling life for my 11 year old son. He has so many curiosities such as traveling and other adventurous things, my weight has certainly kept me from fulfilling a lot of his desires as a child. One evening it just became crystal clear that in a sense I was failing my son as well as myself by not taking the appropriate steps to change my life. So I went ahead and made that call now I'm on my way to becoming the mother that my son deserves. -
I had my one visit requirement with the dietician yesterday, she explained the rules of surgery and asked general questions about my health and diet. She advised me based on my insurance type, the time in between seeing her and having the surgery is typically 6 weeks, that made me really feel closer to my destination. She told me that the surgeon that's performing my surgery schedule fills up really fast and for me to call ASAP if I'm trying to have my surgery this year, I thanked her we ended the visit and as soon as I got to my car I called and schedule my first visit with the surgeon for oct 22 just a few days away. Once I have my second visit with the surgeon I will be given an actual date, in between time I will need to see a physc once and get some labs done. I can't believe this is all happening so fast, and I pray to have the same success that many of you have experienced. I am so ready to move on to what my life is meant to be. I know that my 38 years of life has been full of struggles and down times, I've had the ability to smile and just play it off and make the world think that my life is wonderful and complete, but deep inside I felt pretty but very limited and worth less because my size is more. I look at these years as a hard learning experience that will compliment and strengthen the new exciting world I'm working towards.

Thank you so much. First visit with surgeon is on oct 22.

I got my call today, YEA!!!!!!! I'm surprised that I only have to see a nutritionist once, watch a DVD and fill out some paperwork. I can't believe it's all happening so fast. Im more than thankful to myself for making that call. This all started just a few days ago and now I'm on my way. Finally I will become healthier and will have the body to match my personality and smile. It still hasn't all quite hit me yet. I'm so appreciative of this app and all of the people that are willing to share their advice and experiences, I'm sure I will have lots of my concerns eased and questions answered just from reading some of the threads.
