  1. I snickered when I wrote it I couldn't think of any other way to say it...
  2. Yes, I do make sure and eat all the meatballs (so it's a full can's worth of the balls) but maybe 2/3 of the broth. I had it at 11:45 today and I'm still good for now at 4:30. I was also told to avoid Soup by my program. This is one of the few I don't follow.
  3. I have soup for lunch almost daily lately. I like to take the Italian wedding soup and strain out the macaroni. So it ends up being a yummy broth with spinich/carrots and little meatballs.
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she was talking about the 5 day pouch test.
  5. This is your personal business. Choosing not to tell others is in NO way a lie! What I found was that nobody asked how I lost the weight. People would say "you look great", I said "thank you" and that would be the whole conversation. So it ended up being a non-issue. They only the exception ended up being the one person that I had briefly talked about the sleeve with months earlier (we were talking about weight loss and I asked if she had every looked into the sleeve). She was obviously suspicious and asked what I was doing. I said well I'm doing very small portions and high Protein (all true) and left it at that!
  6. I don't have a similar story to share, but I wanted to say I'm so sorry that you are going through this right now! Do you have a someone with you that can speak with the doctors and advocate for you? If not maybe you can ask a friend or relative to help you take in and keep track of all the medical info. It is hard to keep track of everything they tell you when you are sick and on so many medications! Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hopefully others will jump in here. I know we have many members that have overcome complications. Hang in there! ((Hugs))
  7. No way, unless it was the exact same item as something I already had.
  8. My understanding is that as long as you pay something on it each month, even 10 bucks, they can't put you in collections. Definitely verify that but I had a coworker tell me this once (he was uninsured).
  9. @@WL WARRIOR I have never heard about the 18 thing. I was probably 120 at age 18. I'm not sure if I could get down that low now or if I would want to (would be tough to maintain!) My doc suggested 145 to 150 as a goal. I am 5'6". @@globetrotter I recently had a thoracic xray and all I could really see was a shadowy sleeve-like outline with a bunch of metal staples (I took a copy on cd and took a long look at them on my computer at home), so who knows if your sleeve was really visible in your tests (assuming they were looking at other stuff)? Just a thought.
  10. If you search on here for D/FW support groups, there is a list floating around. There are a lot of support groups in the area all over. Good luck!
  11. I wore one on my vacation in Jamaica a few months ago. I have a tiny bit of saggyness on the tummy but it's not that big of a deal. If anything people probably would assume I just had it leftover from pregnancy (I'm actually child free). Anyway I thought I looked pretty cute for my age (40). I wore the type of bottoms that tie on the sides with a bandau top that had ties behind the neck as well for more hold.
  12. I know the question was not necessarily directed at me, but my guess would be to get in touch with a good bariatric surgeon in your area. They could at least point you in the right direction if nothing else.
  13. I am curious as to what causes angulated sleeve? Is that Gerd related or something else?

    Cash pay?

That is about what it costs in the Midwest. I was quoted 30k in Cleveland.
  15. Hello all, I am almost 10 months out and have severe nerve pain in my left leg. I am working with my doctor to determine the source of the pain. In googling for answers I have seen both wls (related to B12 deficiency) and long term use of ppi medicines as possible causes of nerve damage. Just wondering if anyone in our group here has experienced anything like this?

    Cash pay?

Dr. Nicholson offers the hh option, I believe it's about 3000. Nicholsonclinic.com. He has offices in Plano and Dallas.
  17. Yes, it's a burning pain, mostly at night. Eta: most severe at night, not mostly

    Cottage Cheese Thighs

Unfortunately, cellulite seems to be partially based on your genes. Some people get thin and find very little, some get thin and still have a lot of it. Mother nature can be cruel!! Either way, you are certainly on the right track, congrats on your losses so far
  19. I am also having numbness along with the pain. Forgot to mention.
  20. I'm working with my primary. He does seem to be struggling a bit with this. @@Sharon1964 I didn't realize that pain management docs also do diagnoses? Can I see one without knowing the cause for the pain? Most recent labs was in November.

    Hit a wall.

Don't give up. Keep going forward and use the 6 months to gather the funds you will need to stay the week and for child care during that week. This is totally doable. I think you were thrown off by the 6 hours away news. It will make it a bit more challenging but it will be SO worth it.

    Need some fashion advice

I would keep trying to find something that works underneath, or wear with the jacket. I'm sort of strange about bra straps though so it's probably a personal preference thing.
  23. Just take off one week. You will be a little tired for the first couple days back but you can handle it with a desk job, no problem.
