    Internal Pulling

Sounds like healing process of the large incision. Try using a heating pad for the pain.
  2. Why would you not take your tramadol if you need it for 2 days? Tramadol is not an nsaid. Regarding weight and pain, I recently suffered 2 herneated disks (first time ever for disk trouble) and have the bad leg and knee pain. This all happened for the first time in my life 9 months out from surgery and pretty close to goal. Bmi around 25. And you aren't kidding about the pain, it's terrible.

    Sweet tea

Try the tea plain for a couple of sips, then add spenda or other sugar sub. It will taste really sweet after the plain.

    Low BMI and Gastric Sleeve

@@highonlifega1970 I just wanted to say that I am also married to a man that loves to cook and eat (non weight problem) and I feel like he was very worried in the beginning about how the surgery might change things for us. I'm now 10 months out and he has adapted to my portion size being smaller and we eat really fresh and healthy now 99.9% of the time. In the beginning you will be able to eat almost nothing, though, so he needs to be prepared to deal with that. No getting around it! I would also be very surprised if, after a few months, he's not inspired to make some changes for himself too.
  5. I interpreted the premise to be that certain things can be barriers to success, i.e. aftercare, socioeconomic status, ethnicity. Obviously I could be wrong but that was my reading of it.
  6. @@FloraBama Girl congrats on going back to work soon! I bet when you get back in the groove you will be able to get the weight back off.
  7. Artificially Low fat products contain other stuff to make up the flavor lost with the fat, such as more sugar and/or chemicals. Just fyi for those that might not be aware.
  8. I eat it all the time. I eat full fat though, never the low fat.

Exercise for the sake of exercise

Don't take this the wrong way, but have you considered a job? In my experience, a great way to burn off lots of energy.

    Back surgery- fusions

@@Bandista how wonderful that your husband has had so much success with his surgery. I went to see my doc yesterday, he wants to try back injections. Has anyone else had these?
  12. I'm sure the Dr's office can give you all the hotel info you want

    Terrible heartburn!

I don't see constant throat burning as being feasible or healthy. I agree that you need to take something effective for now. PPI.
  14. I had a neck fusion in 2009 (C5-C6) and it worked great. I never knew how much pain I was in for decades until I wasn't anymore. I could finally sleep normally and everything just felt better. Surgery in October and skiing by February. that surgery is tied with VSG as the best thing I've ever done for myself. A friend had a lower back fusion and he's done incredibly, too. He works in construction and drives big equipment and does heavy lifting everyday. Rides horses on the weekends. Unfortunately I know several unsuccessful cases, too. My sister in law still has lower back pain despite her fusion. I know two others with totally failed neck fusions. I think these things are just so individual, it's hard to judge your outcome on simple statistics and other's experience. I wish you the best of luck. I broke my back when I was 18 so I truly feel your pain. Back surgery is a tough topic. I'm currently suffering from a back injury myself (2 herneated disks L3 & L5). Really bad leg pain and difficulty walking. I would be very interested in reading a back/spine injury thread. @@Oregondaisy I'm sorry you are having to consider two surgeries. This back problems stuff is no joke.

    "BFF" Went MIA...Jealousy?

@@SippedChick when I was new and losing a lot, I used to regale my husband daily with all the fascinating and useful nutrition info I was learning and using. After about a month, he finally explained to me in a nice (ish) way that having surgery doesn't make me an expert on everything food-related and that it had gotten annoying. At the time it hurt my feelings a little since I really thought I was being helpful. But after I got over it, I realized he was right and I cut it out. The amount that we want to talk about all this stuff is way more than others want to hear us talk about it. So, in the end that is why we are lucky to have these boards. Try not to be hurt about it (hard I know, especially since things were said behind your back. I really hate that) and just try to save it for those of us that really want to know more about it all. We are out there and we care.

    "BFF" Went MIA...Jealousy?

Agree with LL just call her. It sounds like you are still a young woman. Something I learned is that people will come and go from your life on a fairly regular basis. Usually these relationships last as long as the thing you had on common, give or take a few months (school, job, whatever). If the main thing that you two had in common was lack of interest from men in bars, well then I suppose that's something you no longer share. It is what it is. I think it's worth calling to find out for sure though. Especially since it's definitely bothering you.
  20. I don't think this is normal. Have you called your surgeon? If not, please do so immediately.

    I'm 21 and freaking out!

I'm thinking you would be better off with a glass or two of wine rather than hard liquor. With the small amount of food we eat it is very easy to get tipsy. Believe me wine will do the trick easily! I like prosecco and was given approval from my surgeon to drink it. The one I like is only 50 cals/glass (I use the small champagne flutes from Target). Some will balk at this but as I said, I got the okay directly from my doctor. He said let it sit in the glass for 5 minutes before drinking to let some of the bubbles out first. Since you have quite a bit to lose, I would really wait as long as you possibly can, try your hardest for at least 6 months - just for the sake of maximizing your weight loss. Please believe it when we say alcohol WILL slow your losses. Protect your honeymoon period like it is a precious, priceless diamond!

OLD dating after surgery, and question about ghosting

Catfishing is when someone pretends to be someone else using fake pictures and information. There is a movie and tv show about it called Catfish (hence the term 'catfish').
  23. 100 percent agree: go see your primary doctor about this.

    Pain Meds After Sleeve Surgery

I switched to tylenol full time on day 5. Be careful. If you are concerned there must be a reason, so it's good to be aware. I would also really try harder to protect yourself and don't let your daughter roll around on you like that for the time being. Good luck to you.
