Was it a doctor that told you this was due to aging? May I ask your age range? I was 40 when this first happened. Have you found anything that helps with it? Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

I'm no doctor, but if it was me I would try again with something other than the seroquel. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

You can drink carbonation. It's that it is not recommended. I honestly think they are not sure whether or not it's okay so they err on the side of caution. Nothing wrong with that though. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

Just wondering what everyone is watching now on Netflix or similar. What did you watch and love? I obsessively watched and loved Madmen and Breaking Bad. Currently watching Bombgirls. Who else?

I know there are several of us on the same day, so I thought I would start a thread for us to keep in touch as we go through the process. I'm having surgery in Dallas. On day 2 of preop diet. So far, so good. No issues to report. Check in here if you are scheduled for 9/8! :)

Be Honest...keeping BMI and weight the same for surgery
woo woo replied to Lexigurl82's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do whatever they tell you to do in order to get approved. The end. If anything he is being selfish by messing with you in this manner. Going forward, I would consider not talking in depth about this with him. Keep him aware of what you are doing, generally, but keep the discussion to a minimum. It's obvious that he's not yet in a place where he can give you his true support. Right now he's giving you false or fake support. Otherwise known as lipservice. Talk to us on this board or to other friends when you need to talk details. We totally get it and understand the process and the struggles. -
Keep reading as much as you can, you will get the hang of things, don't worry. Yes if you eat all of your Protein literally first, you will get fuller faster and will wind up eating less overall. Plus then you will be able to get your daily protein grams in more easily. The weight loss ticker (stick) must be set up by you. If you look at the top right part of your screen, under your screen name there will be an option called "my tickers". Select or click on that and it will walk you through the options.

Are you claiming no one told you to eat Protein first? Just curious since you ate an entire side dish of potatoes and entire thing of gravy but just nibbled the cottage cheese.

@@MichiganChic that was very well said, and I think you must be a very good mom to those three lucky girls. -
Scared I'll lose momentum...Hip revision...bummer

Yes I was getting really into pilates and getting really strong, then I herneated 2 disks in my lumbar spine. Still suffering from it although it is getting better. I'm still not sure if the exercise had anything to do with the back injury. It's been since June and I have lost a lot of the muscle tone that I had gained. It's a bummer. -

Netflix what are you watching? Which series do you love!?

From wikipedia: The series follows Hank Lawson, a young emergency room doctor, who after being wrongly blamed for an important patient's death, moves to the Hamptons and becomes a reluctant "doctor for hire" to the rich and famous. When the administrator of the local hospital asks him to treat the town's less fortunate, he finds himself walking the line between doing well for himself and doing good for others. -

This McDougall plan is controversial and pushes a very high carbohydrate diet. -

There are also a number of very affordable self pay options in the US as well. Just fyi don't feel like going outside the country is your only option. There are many cheap options in some of the southern states especially like Dallas or Houston in Texas, parts of Louisiana and Florida and there is also a Doctor in Cincinnati that has a reasonable self pay price if you prefer. -
I don't know what to do.
woo woo replied to mrh1282's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can certainly drink beer or anything else in moderation. Shouldn't be a problem. With a job like yours, I think you'll be amazed at how much more enjoyable it will be without all the extra weight. -
When do you start to feel normal (after surgery)

About 10 days or so. -
Anyone else having a hard time getting pain meds?
woo woo replied to Gumpgal's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My liquid hydrocodone had to come from a compounding pharmacy, which in my case was mail order (but was all set up by my surgeon's office). I ended up getting them all (all my pre and post surgery rxs) in the mail a few days beforehand. -

Unfortunately this victim type mentality seems to really be taking hold in this country. -

For the documentary viewers I wanted to mention a new one on netflix called "Hot Girls Wanted". This is about how regular girls, teenagers just 18 years old, are drawn into the porn business nowadays. -

True detective (first season) was great. This was on hbo and stars Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConnehey as former police detectives that are retelling what happened in a big case that they worked together back in 1995. Spooky mystery type drama/crime series. Both actors are really great in this. It would be available on hbo go and hbo now. Eta: McConnehey won the golden globe for this performance, but I believe that both of them were nominated for this show. -
It can be below or somewhere off to the side of the incision is my understanding. My NP explained that there is blood pooling (among other things) as part of the healing process and that can cause the burning and pain. Definitely don't panic. If your doc was very worried he wouldn't have ordered tests that take a week to come back. Have you tried the heating pad? It really was the only thing that worked for me, and it worked very well!
