39 Months Post-Op...First Big, Fat, Nosedive off the Wagon, Binge...also Possible just Flunked out of Law School
woo woo replied to AvaFern's topic in Food and Nutrition
The rule against working full time and attending law school full time is set by the ABA, not the law school. And it exists for a reason, OP has illustrated that quite beautifully actually. Legally required accommodations are not cheating. I find it hilarious that you would even say such a thing and aspire to be an attorney at the same time. You need to commit to law school and stop with all the other nonsense or get out and do something else. I cannot fathom what possessed you to sit for your first law school exams without bothering to study. Don't say you have to work full time because you and I both know that loans are available to you to cover your expenses. And by the way, the rules are for everyone, and they DO apply to you. I suggest you think long and hard about whether you really want to continue with law school. The prize at the end of it is a boring and incredibly stressful job, you know. Sorry if this seems harsh, but it's truth. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Nicholson Clinic/ Dr Roshek, Plano, Tx
woo woo replied to BubblesOhSoSleeved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would call and ask the insurance coordinator if/when it was submitted to your insurance. Once you know it was submitted you can call your insurance directly to check the status. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -

Nerve Pain in the Thigh - Ideas Please
woo woo replied to BigDog Bryan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Another possibility is herneated disk in your lumbar spine. This can press on the nerve that affects that part of the leg. I had this a year and a half ago. The nerve pain was much worse at night. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -

Just got revision from sleeve to bypass!
woo woo replied to StartingOverAfterCancer2's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Shauna you might want to start your own thread with this question in the bypass section, you will probably get more responses more quickly. GL Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
My gastric sleeve has been a total failure!
woo woo replied to Gastricsleevefailure's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Have they done the test (xray?) that shows the shape of the sleeve from the outside? I have heard of an incorrectly-shaped sleeve causing these issues. Specifically, wide on the ends and skinny in the middle/barbell. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
Dr. Julie Kilgore - Nicholson Clinic - Plano, TX
woo woo replied to Ms. Brightside's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you so much for your review! I had a bad experience with Baylor Plano when I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago, so I will likely go with one of the other facilities use (hoping for Medical Center of Frisco, but I suppose it will depend on my insurance). That's cool, the other nice thing is that they offer a lot of choices as to which hospital to use! Dr. Julie Kilgore - Nicholson Clinic - Plano, TX
woo woo replied to Ms. Brightside's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I used this clinic but Dr Nicholson did my surgery. He was very excellent. I had no issues or problems whatsoever. One nice thing is that when it's time for surgery they get all your meds overnighted to you. I am thinking Dr Kilgore must be a bit newer to this practice, I know she wasn't there in 2014. I had surgery at Baylor Hospital in Plano, which was amazing. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App -
I gained back the weight after VSG
woo woo replied to runaroundsue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
He will consult with me regarding nutrition but not regarding a revision. His representative said they will only do revisions if you live in Dallas. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App I'm willing to bet they didn't disclose that little tidbit when they were signing you up for self pay surgery either! I'm sorry, that sucks. Have you tried any of the other Dallas surgeons? I know you are out of state, but we have lower prices here than many places. I used Nicholson Clinic for my sleeve (not a revision). I know they do revisions, maybe check with them? Ps You have every right to pursue this with medical professionals. Some of the newly-sleeved like to preach. Are revisions REALLY necessary?
woo woo replied to Babbs's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I don't know how a person gets obese without overeating on a regular basis! But I have seen those posts too. I have no idea. As far as food addiction, I think I used and sometimes abused food but I'm not one of those that struggled to comply with the food stages/rules after surgery by any means. So I actually don't think I was ever a food addict. But if we are saying food addict is like other substance addiction, there must also be recovery right? Are revisions REALLY necessary?
woo woo replied to Babbs's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I guess the answer is, maybe it will and maybe it won't? Some people can learn from one mistake, some it takes a couple times. And then there's those that never learn! That group is more tricky. But even then, who am I to say they shouldn't be allowed to try? Or "oh please they want insurance to pay"? I also think there is non-compliance, and then there is ridiculousness. I sort of hate the tone of many of these replies. So, if surgery 1 didn't work for a person, they need to just be unhealthy because that's what they deserve? I'm not sure about that one. At least they keep trying. JMO. Not referring to the OP btw. I'm not a revision patient, but really if things were different I would absolutely explore all options. I think you should trust that feeling in that it's probably/possibly your gut letting you know that he's not "that" into you. If he isn't calling and/or trying to see you frequently, that is your cue to keep looking. The one you want to find is the one that is always wanting to be with you. On the other hand, if he is calling you several times a week for dates, he might be into you but just either insecure or possibly just got out of a long or bad relationship Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

I just wanted to say, WTF on his behavior! I can only hope that alcohol might have caused him to say things he might regret? I have read your other posts, though, so I don't know. 100 percent no. In fact, I'm trying to understand how you saw his phone? I feel like you are probably way too deep in this for being only two weeks in. Has anyone be re-sleeved? Revision ?!
woo woo replied to Lainybee1987's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I think she's saying two docs have said it wasn't done properly. I'm not any kind of medical expert, but the shape does look odd to me. I don't think it's supposed to be barbell-shaped like that. I also think that you should have lost more weight, so maybe the sleeve just didn't work for you. It happens. If it was me, I would think long and hard about revising to something else though, since sleeve didn't work for you the first time around. Maybe try a different procedure? Pain and Pain medications

You can get adult Tylenol liquid. It works really well. I switched to it exclusively after like 2 days on narcotic. Honestly I think oxy is overkill. Maybe ask for liquid norco? Less addictive and works well. They carry the adult tylenol liquid at CVS. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
