I think that would violate the no drinking with meals rule that most bariatric patients must follow. Did you ask your surgeon or nut?

New to forum, considering the sleeve
woo woo replied to Sbagdan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wanted to say good for you on making your appointment. It takes guts to make that first step! Regarding your medications, your surgeon can obvi speak more specifically on this, but there is a good chance that you will reduce and/or eliminate the need for many of your medications. I know for sure that is true for many people with regards to BP and diabetes meds at the very least. There is also a good chance at resolving your sleep apnea as well (if it is caused by the extra weight). Please keep us posted and let us know how your consult goes! -
I think a 12 is very reasonable for person of your height. Go for it!

Anyone like me? 5'5" 180lbs bmi 30?
woo woo replied to 50lbstogo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well at 35 I was around your size (a little taller). A year later I was over 200. Now 4 years after that I'm still over 200 and getting the sleeve. To answer your question, I wish I'd done it sooner but I'm not 100% sure that I wish I'd done it at 180 if that makes any sense at all. I feel like I could have lost the weight at 180 but I waited too long until I was over 200 and couldn't come back from there, too far along I guess. Currently bmi 35. -

I agree, please don't wait any longer as this sounds like something that could become very dangerous. I know someone personally that recently died from the flu at the age of only 52. Not to scare you but he sought care (at an urgent care facility) a couple of days before his death and was told it is not the flu and was not given the antiviral medicine either.

Surgery Next Week or September?!
woo woo replied to Myonlybattle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would go for it next week! No time like the present. I'm sure you and your husband can make it work, he will be there as soon as he can I am sure. I am also wondering if there is a chance that you are thinking of postponing so that you can overeat on vacation? If so I would say for sure do it next week as that is not a good enough reason to wait!! :) Good luck to you either way! -

Anesthesiologist said I have to be awake for the placing of the oxygen tube

Well that would be enough for me. It sounds just awful. -
@@Ginger Snaps I was looking at someone else when I said that about negativity! I think you have some very valid points.

I'm sorry that you have to go thru this, but better to know they are taking every precaution to keep you safe... Yes and don't be shy about asking for anything you can get to make it as comfortable as possible!! @@ualaw08 I was wondering did something go wrong during your husband's procedure or just in and of itself it was traumatic to him? If you feel like sharing. -
No you are right, I should have added the caveat that they should offer to send pics via email right away! My pic is actually a long coat chihuahua, they are related to papillons though. The "wings" are not as pronounced as the paps but otherwise they are very similar. Love em! Bottom line on this online dating - you have to dig to find the gold I guess In the end it's worth the work when you find your keeper.

CGJ is 100% right. coffee isn't supposed to be the date. It's supposed to be a safe, neutral place to connect in person to decide if you want to go on a date with each other. It's really a way to streamline and not waste a bunch of nights on long dinner type dates with mr. or ms. wrong. Sheesh no offense but some of you on here are mighty negative and judgy. Most decent men don't have a bunch of pics around of just themselves without other people. What you can't tell from these photos is whether they went fishing or hunting one time with some friends and somebody took a picture, or else they just liked the idea of looking sporty/masculine or whatever. Give people a break and try to keep an opened mind. I would also suggest that you look closely at the profiles with no pictures at all. That is where you will find the men with the really good careers/important jobs as they don't want thier employees/colleagues to see them online. Just a tip. Happy dating!!

Low BMI-BCBSNJ ever make exceptions?
woo woo replied to catesdragonfly's topic in Insurance & Financing
Your best bet is to be at a 35 bmi when you go to your doc. The criteria is what it is, unfortunately. Insurance wont pay if you dont meet it. -
Is it possible that I got big just because I love food?
woo woo replied to Goddardgo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think there are different schools of thought on it and I know there are some on this board that think every obese person by definition has an eating disorder and if you don't then you just won't admit it to yourself I don't necessarily agree with that though. I don't know the answer, but I am also aware of my reasons for it happening and while it isn't a big emotional scar or issue, there is a specific reason and it is non-food related. I am interested to hear others' feedback on this issue. -
I think that they remove the gallbladder if the stones are bad enough or are recurring. I have heard many people say that gallstones can be a side effect of rapid massive weight loss. Good luck and congrats on your success

There are a couple of people on here that have shared similar situations. Hopefully some will chime in here. Good luck to you, I am sorry you are having to deal with this.

Agree with CGJ. There's something else bugging him/making him not comfortable. He probably just doesn't want to say what it is for whatever reason. Give it a little time, see what happens. Congrats on your losses so far
