Bariatric Bullies--You know who you are!
woo woo replied to Time4Kindness's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe I have just missed it, but I haven't seen the bullying. I do agree that the search function leaves something to be desired. Plus I think sometimes people want specific replies to thier own question, and to me there's nothing wrong with it either -

Nordstrom's is a good place to go for a fitting. They also carry an extensive selection as well and will give you full service with the fitting, bringing you several different selections to try and will get you any other sizes/colors etc. Zero hassle experience.

I don't understand... was he asking for payment? WTF

Hi Rosemary, You will probably get a better response on this if you start a new topic in the surgeons area. You can also try using search to see if you can find anything that might have been posted about Dr Barker in the past. I am betting there's something. Good luck. I haven't heard anything either way although I have heard of him, probably from commercials.

i m pre op and still researching abt gastric sleeve
woo woo replied to komi31's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The older you get, the more likely that the weight will start to cause health problems. If you are still young, there is a chance that health problems will develop for you later in life. There is also a chance that you could get bigger over time too. They say obesity is a progressive disease. It's really up to you and depends upon how you feel. One thing you can ask yourself is how much is my weight interfering with my life now? That might bring you closer to an answer as to whether it's worth it to you. If you really aren't sure, it may be better to wait rather than rush into anything. -
Newbie looking for advice in Staten Island
woo woo replied to Dawnygirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Use google to find SI or Manhattan (if you want) surgeons. You can then research the ones that seem convenient for you and then make appointments for seminars or consultations with the doc or docs that appeal to you the most. Once you select a surgeon, they can pretty much set you up with whatever else you need from there for the surgery and for your insurance, including a PCP for the supervised diet and etc. I am assuming you have already checked with your insurance provider to see if your policy covers bariatric surgery. Welcome to the site and good luck to you! Let us know how things go. -

Flying & Travel Tips for novice traveler?
woo woo replied to CandyPants81's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
If it was me, I would go on and get the passports anyway (spring for the full passport, not the card as the card is very limited and doesn't work for most international travel). You want to be on the safe side, and the last thing you will need or want to deal with after surgery is issues at customs trying to get back into the country... Plus once you get it it's good for years and years so next time you want to leave the country you will be set! -
A New WLS Procedure From Mayo Clinic
woo woo replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Interesting! Thank you for sharing. I am wondering what the actual sutures look like in reality. The drawing makes it look like loose stitches but that can't be right, can it? -
Flying & Travel Tips for novice traveler?
woo woo replied to CandyPants81's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You get to select your seats when you book the tickets. There is also another chance to change your seats when you check in (online or at the airport, it's your choice) so no worries there. Unless the plane is super full you will def get to sit together. Also, the extra seat thing isn't going to apply in your case. I think you would have to be well over 300 pounds (probably over 350) at least for that to come into play. You do need to apply for your passports ASAP as it does take at least a month to get them back once you actually submit the applications. -
Many people work in offices where food and Snacks are plentiful as well and are very successful. You can do this! As others have said, bring your own food and shakes, snacks and drinks. Don't let yourself get caught at work with nothing to eat or drink that is on plan.

Just thinking, make sure you discuss your reflux problems with the doc -- the sleeve is sometimes considered to be a bad choice for someone with this issue. You probably heard that before but I just wanted to mention it in case.

Try a liquid diet. Replace two meals with a high protien shake and eat one very lean meal daily just meat and non starchy veg. Drink lots of water.

Gastric Sleeve $3800.00 with Dr. Ponce De Leon
woo woo replied to mwaller81's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
This was really uncalled for. Most of us won't even bother with reading gigantic walls of text like your original post. In fact, I did not read your original post. @@Travelmego was only trying to be helpful. -

I would call again and see if there is anything closer that will work. Cigna has had trouble keeping things straight in my case with regards to this very issue. -
I was sleeved feb2013 my weightloss stopped early on
woo woo replied to kathyhall's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Maybe you could seek advice from another doc and get a second opinion regarding your sleeve and whether a revision is indicated? I am sure you must be very frustrated. -

She says in the title of the post that she was sleeved, I am not sure if this is a revision from a previous band or not? -

Help! Undesirable pre-op labs

H pylori is treated with antibiotics and is curable prior to surgery so that should be ok. No idea about the other. -
Just wondering how is this helpful?

This is 1000% about her and has literally nothing to do with you. She has serious issues. Don't even sweat it.
