I am sorry that you are struggling. One thought I had was that maybe you can work on a plan to move or change your living situation since you said you hate where you live? Even if it's something that will take a lot of time before you could actually move, you could put together a notebook, do research, make plans etc. Might make you feel better just to think about getting out. Another option is to redecorate -- paint your walls or rearrange your furniture! Can make a big difference in how the place feels to you.

I think the timing couldn't be better for your 12 year old to learn new healthy habits and shed some extra weight right along with the parents. Travelmego, I find it fascinating that, even though you have been told by more that one person, including one of the women involved, that the incident happened DURING the sleeve trip, you have yet to respond in any way. Honestly, it is her house and it sounds like she is the one that supplies the groceries as well. I would probably be irritated if a person living with me in my house where I pay the bills came in and told me what not to buy to eat in my own house. I think that you want to restrict your alcohol intake mainly because of the caloric value. It's best to get your calories from actual food and avoid drinking them. Even so, many people still enjoy the occassional drink and seem to do just fine. This will be after an initial healing period.

In my opinion you are being deliberately obtuse here. Just an observation. There is so much more at play in these types of situations than any straight quid pro quo.
