  1. Is it possible that it's getting delivered to the wrong address and then being returned by whomever is getting it? After being accidentally opened. I would check with the mail carrier. Or call the postmaster at your local post office.

    Initial weightloss

Don't worry, you will absolutely feel the restriction when you start actual food. You'll never really feel that full feeling while on liquids only.
  3. Another scar option is Bio Oil.
  4. Does it make the soup thicker? If it still fits thru the strainer I would imagine it's probably ok, but if you are concerned I would really ask your doc. You will see him or her before surgery tomorrow.
  5. I tried the BA sample pack and found it to be basically undrinkable. I did, however, like the citrus flavored powdered Vitamins that they offer (little powder packets that mix with Water to make a little drink you have once or twice a day). I used the vitamins every day for the first few weeks after surgery. They were really a lifesaver for me, energy wise and hydration wise. I still have a whole bunch of the BA Protein shake samples left and have no intention of drinking any of them. The unjury stuff was pretty good (the chicken Soup and unflavored were especially good just after surgery) and I like the premier chocolate but only when thinned out with some 1% milk. Basically tastes like chocolate milk.
  6. Don't start early unless your doctor specifically tells you to do so. It's not about whether you feel good or not. It's about the time it takes for your stomach to heal internally before you can safely advance to the next stage of food. If you start early you are basically asking for trouble and even possibly a leak.
  7. I agree that it's better to eat a bit less than you could, rather than to take in as much as you can handle at this stage. Better for the sleeve, better for your weight loss, etc.... If it's hard for you maybe just order either the leg or the thigh next time rather than both? Just a suggestion. At 6 weeks out I ordered a 4 pc grilled chicken nuggets at Chick fil A and was only able to actually eat three of them. They are quite small but I think they are white meat. Good luck to you!
  8. Get biotene it's at any Walgreen's or CVS.

I'm sorry I forget which stage you are currently at -- but if you are still on liquids only I would not do it. To me it's just too tempting to chew up or what if you accidentally swallow it. If you need something for breath maybe go with a breath spray like binaca or else just use mouthwash, maybe get a little travel size to bring and keep with you at work.

    Sex...

My doc said as soon as you feel able.
  11. @@angel22_99 it should help if you make sure that you are having moisture with your meats -- gravy, marinara sauce, dipping sauce, salsa, whatever you like have something with every bite. Also if you are not doing so already, make sure you're chewing each bite to mush and beyond. Have you told your doc that you are throwing up so much?

    Cute workout clothes?

I found some really cute and inexpensive stuff at Old Navy. Boot cut yoga pants turned out to be cute and flattering.

    sleeved last night

By day 4 you should be feeling much better then it's pretty much all coasting after that. Good luck !
  14. This is the first time I've heard this one. Although some spouses (not mine thankfully) seem to get annoyed by the lifestyle disruption at first. I wonder if that is what is bothering her?

    Smoking/Hubble bubble

I think that smoking is smoking and it's going to hinder your healing and therefore is not allowed. Just my educated guess though.
  16. For what it's worth, I considered Dr. Kim for a while, even filled out the paperwork online. Then I googled for reviews. There were many positive, yes, but there were plenty of negative. Enough that I immediately crossed him from my list. This was over a year ago, but I remember specifically one was complaining about having to go through multiple surgeries with him and being angry about it but feeling they had no choice but to stick with him. I also read one describing how he had caused someone to cry during a consultation, saying how they failed themself again, as they always had in the past or something like that. Multiple complaints regarding his bedside manner. I think it's worth doing the consult to see what he has to say about the situation, but don't feel like you need to stay with him for the revision if you don't want to. Also don't forget there are financing options for the revision. Hugs to you!!

@@TexasMom5 So on a typical day I eat at least some cold cuts and cheeses, usually some cheddar and at least one mini babybel. For the meats I get good quality seasoned turkey cold cuts from the deli ( I like the boar's head cajun turkey breast). I eat a boiled egg several times per week. Greek yogurt 1-2 times per week. I eat one of the Oscar Meyer P2 Protein Snacks almost every day, it's very easy for me to pack for work. That contains turkey, cheddar and almonds. 16 grams protein, about 170 cals. For dinner I normally have something hot like chili (I concentrate on eating the chunks of meat as much as possible rather than the liquid), a hamburger patty with cheese or some kind of gravy or red sauce (can only eat about half), taco meat (shredded beef or briskit), meatballs in red sauce, grilled shrimp, etc. Today for lunch we went out and I got blackened shrimp with vegetables. If I have a half of a Protein shake I can make my goal of at least 60g per day with the rest being the real foods mentioned above. I drink either premier chocolate thinned with 1% milk, a cup of plain 1% milk, or a GNC Lean 25 pre-made shake in the Strawberries and Cream flavor. This is my favorite because it is very very thin and tastes really good. 170 cals, 25 g protein, low sugars/carbs, lactose free. These are available at GNC stores. Hope this helps somewhat. I track with MFP once or twice per week to see how I an doing on goals (cals, protein, carbs, etc). I also try to have 2 or 3 Fiber gummies daily as I am still trying to figure out how to integrate some veggies into my diet. Really still mainly focused on my Proteins for now.

@@TexasMom5 There are a bunch of meetings in Dallas/Ft Worth area. There is one at Baylor Plano (where I had my surgery), but also others all over the metro area. There is a list of all the local meetings floating around and there is literally one or more almost every day of the month! I am thinking of attending the one at Doctors Hospital this Saturday. If anyone is going, PM me. The Baylor Plano one is supposed to be good and they have a clothing swap beforehand. It's the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm. Thus far I haven't made it to any meeting but I want to. I'll try to find the meeting list. If I can't find it you can ask at the office they have it there too. Wait I think I got it attached to this message. Where did everyone have their procedures done? DFW Area WLS Support Groups.pdf

Hi I'm a Nicholson patient too. I will be 8 weeks out Monday. So far everything has been pretty great. I just had my 6 weeks checkup last week. They took blood for labs but I haven't gotten the results. I have been really happy with my results so far! Has anyone been to the meetings yet?
  20. Yes it hurt most of the time for a couple weeks, then off and on for another 2 weeks or so.

    Mourning the girls

Nordstrom is wonderful for bra fitting. They are highly trained in this area.
  22. The lack of bm will also make you heavier on the scale too.
  23. Well if you are eating a lot (relatively speaking), until you have discomfort, and doing it several times a day, that would probably explain why you have not lost as much as you would have expected. How many times per day are you overeating like this? Have you tried tracking your calories at all? How many calories are you getting on a typical day? Are you getting any exercise or activity at all?
  24. I'll be 2 months out on Monday, but for what it's worth here is what I am eating now. I suspect that you can eat more in a sitting than I can since you are at 5 months. Breakfast: Either a GNC Lean shake 25 (strawberries and cream flavor, pre-made) or one hard boiled egg with salt or occassionally 1/2 container of greek yogurt. If I don't have the lean shake, I will have 1/2 of a Premier chocolate shake (30 grams protein). Lunch: P3 Protein snack pack, which contains small portions of turkey, marble cheddar, and almonds. The whole thing has 13 grams of protein. Snack: Mini babybel cheese wheel, original flavor Dinner: Some kind of meat, such as meatballs with red sauce, or shredded beef taco meat (filling only), hamburger patty (can eat about 1/2), 1/2 cup chili etc I have not been cheating at all. If anything I will dip/mix things with sauces or mayo but the amount is so small I don't really sweat it. I haven't had anything with sugar yet. I have twice had one single saltine cracker with my food. When I plug this into MFP it comes to 650 to 725 cals daily.
