At 4 weeks after the sleeve I did not chew a piece of chicken............enough. I ran through the house like a crazed woman when it stuck mid chest. SCARED me to death. Could not call 911 as I could not talk. Thank God it passed. ... Live and learn. We will be okay!

Why are some weight loss surgery patients so clueless?
LindafromFlorida replied to VSGAnn2014's topic in Rants & Raves
I will assure you JjinWA at my age I have no need or desire to get in any last word and drown out anyone. I seek no sympathy. I only offer insight on this ONE thread. I do not whine. If you met me you would like me and know that I am genuine. If we cannot talk and share what is the point here? It is not US against THEM, me against you. Hang in there sunshines! -

How sweet Julie. Emotions do run high sometimes. Life, kids, jobs, friends, and family can be stressful. I am beyond the worst stresses of my life, and if I shared you would agree. 7 years, wow, you can teach us things! God Bless! -
Why are some weight loss surgery patients so clueless?
LindafromFlorida replied to VSGAnn2014's topic in Rants & Raves
I remember my first 1-2 posts. I remember perceiving someone saying something to me that I felt was negative and hurtful, and I took the wrong way. That person is now someone I adore and admire. Learn from my experience, please. -

You can be an inspiration to many here whether or not you have even had surgery. I lurked a long time also. But we all have something to contribute. Relax and move on and be a blessing to the masses here. It will make you feel good. -

Crazyweight, we are kind here. If not for Bariatric Pal where would you go for support? Thousands and thousands and thousands of posts prove the kindness here. I have posted almost 2,000 posts. You have posted 12. I will continue as an old lady to help whomever I can, to encourage, to whine, to be happy, to be sad, to cheer, to say omg please please do not eat that pizza one week after surgery. For gosh sake, we are human beings and we ask for opinions and we get them. We give them and either someone likes it or is offended. Maybe if someone wants to eat pretzels, pizza, pureed wontons, and french fries a week after surgery, you should not say omg I just ate this stuff. Keep it to yourself or call your surgeon. Many, many people here post what they ate and gentle souls say move on and are supportive. Best to everyone. -
Question about hospitalisation post op
LindafromFlorida replied to knzt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am more worried about getting MRSA, Staph or God knows what else being in the hospital 2-3 days. Our surgeon agreed and keeps his patients a minimum period. The ER is available if you have complications. -
Hair lost anybody out there?
LindafromFlorida replied to Sassy in pink's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Many topics on hair loss here that you can read about. Mine was extra noticeable at 5 months and still losing at almost 9 months. Biotin is a joke as far as I can tell. Nothing has helped but the nice wig I purchased. I look great with it on!! -
Question about hospitalisation post op
LindafromFlorida replied to knzt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Got to the hospital at 1 pm Monday, had the sleeve at 3:30, was home at 11:30 the following day. Had no pain, took one dose of pain med when I got home, and drove to the grocery store the next day. I felt absolutely great. I was shopping at the mall 5 days later. I am 67. -

I have only had the sleeve, but I would like to say it would be most sad if you settled for gaining back that weight and living with it. At least you are doing something about it. God Bless and good luck to you. You will get a lot of support here. -

I like this Par. I have done enough country cooking in my lifetime (which fueled my love of biscuits, gravy and fried food because we were poor but ate well), to feed the masses at Madison Square Garden. Today I do not have to meal plan with the sleeve (my husband and I) and I love it. I can grab 1 small filet mignon ($4.50), 1 chicken breast, a piece of Mahi, or tinned crabmeat from the fish market, and cook a meal in 10 minutes. The sleeve has simplified our life. -
SF popsicles are our go to snack, even in winter. My husband loves to chew. Jerky and smoked turkey wings are a favorite of his. I can nibble o a couple of unsalted almonds and like the crunch. Satisfies me and I keep on going. Another idea is the PB2 (powdered Peanut Butter without the fat and calories - just add a little water), spread on a piece of celery. Takes like real peanut butter to me.

Bree, My husband and I were sleeved about 8 months ago. Many health problems. 67 years old. Glad you will hang around to see your children grow up. God Bless. Linda
