Yes, I bought mine online at unjury.com too. They also have Unjury chicken Soup powder. Just add Water. They have a mac and cheese, but I did not try it.

    Weight

I feel I have been a slow loser also. The scale has crept along, barely. Two weeks at a time, it moves a little. But overall your stories sound like amazing weight loss. We are still eating but we are still losing weight. We would probably be sick if we lost any faster, with scurvy or something dreadful lol! Glad for our trip together here!

    Defeated

Ten years of seminars, learning, disappointments, frustrations, HBP, diabetes, more weight gain and other health problems finally got us to the sleeve. If you quit the cigarettes praise the Lord. What an accomplishment! Asthma helped me to stop smoking 4 years ago. Now I can walk and breathe thanks to sleeving. Your day will come. It will be so worth it!!! best of luck!

    Mushies?!

My advice to you is keep it simple and do not start meal planning at two weeks. Focus on shakes, adding unflavored Protein powder to Soups, yogurt, SF Jello, or anything else on your list of foods. There is enough to deal with going back to work so keep a light load for yourself. I dearly loved the convenience of refried Beans with a little wedge of Laughing Cow white Cheddar cheese and it was tasty and filling. Could that be easier? I am still 7 weeks post op and my husband 5 weeks post op, and loving the simplicity of life. I made tuna salad yesterday for a treat, and really enjoyed it. 1/2 to 1 boiled egg is delicious and easy. 1scrambled egg in the morning is quick and easy! Relax! I made crockpot chicken 3 weeks out. It was so good I ate too fast and choked on a small piece of chicken, horrible pain, and that is when I decided to slow down and not get carried away with recipes and going back to that normal of cooking and eating. Best of luck!

    The Boomer Chat Room

Hello Cheryl, 14 days today. Finally went to my Internist 2 days ago and he said the meds given by the ER would not help the gout in my toe = so 11 days of worthless meds and increasing pain and swelling. That despite the risk to my new sleeve, I must take Colcrys and Indomethacin (I was told this would eat up my new stomach). Two days on these 2 new meds and I am 90% better and not dead yet. Very scary and nerve wracking. I hope I never hear the word Gout again as long as I live. I am relaxing a bit and ate as much as I dare, to have food in my stomach as directed, especially yogurt and ice cream thinking of it as a coating lol. I had Dr. Uchal at St. Vincent's Jacksonville. I had to demand to speak with him to get a nurse to talk to me. I don't like being left to float around with this as I need a stomach to live. Makes me think down the road if we get ill there are some heavy duty drugs that might affect us all. One day at a time sweet jesus. In the meantime I am drinking as much Water as I can get down. The foods they say cause gout are not on my food list. Hope you and everyone are doing great!!!

    Weight Stall

I have ignored the scale a week or more and then it does finally move! I can tell I am losing because of my clothes, but not according to scale. No worries, because no way something is not going on based on what I eat.

    Questions

It may be just me but my husband and I both had hiatal hernias, and so do a lot of others it seems. I will take whatever meds are needed to be healthy. I think the Prilosec works well. I occasionally feel acidic in my throat but it passes quickly and is not a problem. We are swallowing many pills without a problem. I was able to find an awesome liquid Gold Multivitamin thank goodness. Good luck!

    Losing weight preop!?! Help!

Please do not take any diet pills!!!!! There are more answers for you here. Be patient. Some insurances require this weight loss, and some doctors I presume. I would be wringing my hands too, but you want this surgery. Get the Protein shakes incorporated into your lifestyle, get off the carbs and sugars as this will be a way of life for you after surgery. Okay experts. LaGueri needs our help.

    Losing weight preop!?! Help!

Did he give you a plan to follow? That would be the biggest help!!!! Most of us were on some type of plan. It worked, and many lost weight!

    sleep apnea

The sleep apnea problem is covered very well here! Such a problem and many probably never even knew it! My husband knew he had it but until he had to go see the pulmonary doc before sleeving he ignored it. Even if he misses one night on the cpap now, his body no longer jerks and heaves all night, and he doesn't snort and groan all night. If you have sleep apnea, please get it treated!!

    I remember when.....

Growing up my skinny Mother made homemade biscuits and gravy every night, in addition to working 12 hour days. I really do not wonder why I have a weight problem. Nutrition was not one of my vocabulary words, but Mmmmmmm Good was something I knew well. What I am eating now no longer reminds me of my Mother or my childhood. I accept this graciously. I am also thankful to be sleeved.

    Questions

Husband and I are both on Omeprazole (Prilosec) and instructed to empty capsule into tsp unsweetened applesauce daily. No chewing, no swallowing the capsule.

    Paper FINALLY Submited

Want2b, I am so sorry about your son's diagnosis. We know a positive young man, family friend, who has had type2 diabetes since age 2 and he is a working wonder. College, UPS manager, and his own landscape business. Inspires me. Diabetes is rampant in my husband's family. God will give you strength. I am with you, I am tired, very sick and tired, of fighting this fat. I want what years I have left to be peaceful, not a daily struggle with my weight and the health problems associated with being fat. I wish you the very best, and your child. Happy New Year.

    Paper FINALLY Submited

You are feeling what each and everyone of has felt want2b. This is not a surgery to take lightly. You must be emotionally prepared for the change in eating habits, and the lifelong changes all around. Keep reading and learning. Ask questions. Study. This surgery has changed the lives of me and my husband, and could not be happier. Good luck girl!

    Confused about post op food!

Lots of options as you can see. But try not to get ahead of yourself trying new things. After 7 weeks and 5 weeks post op, my husband and I are still enjoying taking it easy and only eating when we feel like it. I cook no meals. Pantry and fridge is stocked with options that are easy and microwavable and we are still doing popsicles when bored and want a little treat. The SF puddings I thought would tempt us both sit in the pantry. Amazing how our tastes have changed. Very happy that we are content to relax and not obsess about food and cooking anymore, both of us. I did want to get creative once and made some awesomely delicious crockpot chicken breast with FF mushroom Soup, white wine and swiss cheese (modified favorite recipe). Choking on one small bite of that chicken put me in a tailspin of feeling like I was having a heart attack. It really made me appreciate paying attention MORE to chewing well and eating SLOW. Lesson learned the hard way. Food is no longer the focus of our lives. Plus we are thankful to have come off a lot of medicines, blood sugars are normal for the first time in many years, blood pressure is normal. Can only get better. Good luck to everyone, and keep your faith in this process, never give up! So worth it!

    Mixed feelings i need advice

Mita, I find that keeping busy and forgetting the scale is a great way to take my focus off one pound or two. Just follow your plan, change your habits, and voila! You will be successful. It is not good to obsess on the big picture and want too much too fast. I promise you that in a few months you will be so happy as you watch yourself emerge as a beautiful butterfly and you will not regret this. Best wishes! We ARE your support! One day at a time!
