Pre op weight loss- All Boobs
LindafromFlorida replied to slocin12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want it all smaller LOL! Good luck! I agree, it will even out! -
We shared a grilled snapper basket with mango salsa, at lunch today at a place called Safe Harbor in Mayport, FL, a quaint fishing village near Jacksonville Beach. The Intracoastal Waterway was our view, along with shrimp boats and pelicans. It was a nice 65 degrees, eating outside on the deck. Even if you cannot be in Florida with us, maybe we can give you a view in your mind of why we love Florida. Florida seafood is awesome! Best wishes everyone!

This pre-op diet is gross!
LindafromFlorida replied to Aunt GG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Been there LOL. It will be over soon. Pretty soon you will be fussing about what you cannot have after surgery. Focus. Relax. Keep yourself busy. Read every post and see what others are experiencing. Count your many blessings. It is so worth it! Hugs and good luck! -
For me, it means I go once a week, and only with help. I have used every recommended product and prune juice. I used to go every day.

Adventures of the old lady and her sleeve
LindafromFlorida replied to chris1142's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dear Chris, How brave you are!!! I am 67. I no longer SIT. I am absolutely delighted at the change in my life. If not for the sleeve, my husband and I would be on the downhill side of life, now we are motivated and trying to climb uphill lol. When you get older, your one vice is food, our appetite never decreased, which meant we would never lose weight, and cannot exercise. I feel 10 years younger and I am thinking some plastic surgery on my face. What a difference a sleeve makes! I wish you the very best!!! -
How did you handle telling everyone about your surgery
LindafromFlorida replied to vincereautmori's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I agree with Madame R. If you love him enough to be married to him, I would re-think this. After surgery there is no way to keep this secret because so much will change fr you with food, vitamins and meds. God Bless. -
you are eating too few calories.
LindafromFlorida posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every single day this is on My Fitness Pal when I log in to post. Our NUT said no particular food plan after 2 months, no guidance, just eat healthy. Our surgeon said Do Not eat 3 meals a day, eat only when you are hungry. Being 66 and 65, we are not very active, husband can hardly walk. He will be able to swim before long with the weather change. I do not know if we just need to up the calories, or what. Any suggestions will be appreciated. BTW, we pretty much have lived this way for a long time, not eating regular meals, then we would be starving and overeating and gaining weight. Just that now we are not overdoing it. My husband will drink 1/2 protein shake for a meal because he has "diet" in his brain, still. -

LindafromFlorida replied to LindafromFlorida's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL thank you all. The responses here are over my head but you are all phenominal with your knowledge!!! But I am going to work harder on a plan, and made an appointment to see the NUT next week. She works for the surgeon so I think they should lead us a little better than say "eat healthy" at 2 months. God Bless! -
Frank your health comes first. You would probably not have lived long if you remained over 400 lbs. Then she would have NO husband. Get some counseling, either with her or without. My husband was 320 lbs, 6'1" and I am thrilled he has been sleeved so I can have him live longer. He is 65 and 2 months post op. Best wishes. Keep that communication open with your wife. I know those were hurtful words to you but maybe she had no idea how it sounded to you.

Heck Susy this looks like Florida lol!

Best wishes to you!

I am in North Florida so I get plenty of cold weather, and love the seasons here. Sometimes it is 20-30 degrees colder in Jacksonville than Miami. Miami is sweltering in the summer, don't think I could handle that. We can drive 2 hours into Georgia and it is freezing LOL.

Yes Gman, downtown Jacksonville from the back of the boat. Beautiful City I love. You are missing out on that cruise, let me tell you! Get a room with a balcony and sit there watching the ocean go by is the sweetest thing ever. Guess you can tell I love being on the water. Sarasota is lovely. I love the West Coast. Our daughter lives in Pensacola near the Alabama line. I am in heaven anywhere there is water.

Depressed after losing weight?
LindafromFlorida replied to Jouselle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jouselle, at least you are getting out and doing something. Good for you! Your mom and sister probably did not mean for you to feel left out. Maybe go with your hubby if that makes you feel good. This is about you girl! I know it is trouble getting through to the psychiatric offices, but do not let anything keep you from getting through. God Bless. -
you are eating too few calories.
LindafromFlorida replied to LindafromFlorida's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually the 50 lbs lost is since August, 2013, not 3 months. I have read about the lower BMI stats, but it was the Fitness Pal alert that made me finally decide I need advice. I have been in stalls and I do get that part. I will really use the advice here and move on. Thanks so much. -
Hello there. Thank goodness I found this site 2 months before surgery. It has been a Godsend. You will really enjoy the people and the excellent help you can find here. Welcome!

you are eating too few calories.
LindafromFlorida replied to LindafromFlorida's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you both so much. I will incorporate both posts. Looking at the fact that my weight has remained the same about 3 weeks, I know it has to do with not eating enough, or not eating right. I gotta new plan! Best, Linda -

Perfect Madam! I will start following this immediately. I should have asked a month ago. Printing now and taping in the kitchen! Thank you so much, Linda -

Just saying....this why I love Florida. Water, water everywhere.

Sleeving...burning the bridge behind me...
LindafromFlorida replied to gmanbat's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Gman, you say what I feel. Your wife is very lucky to have such a wonderful husband, and I know you both are now living the dream with this new life. You both look great. Me and my husband have a way to go but there is hope and better times ahead. I really enjoy your posts. Thank you for always inspiring us. -
Yes. Both me and my husband. His is low blood pressure as he checks it regularly. He got up from a nap recently, felt dizzy, still got in the shower. Result? Passed out cold, cracked six tiles, blackened his cheek, scraped his arm all the way down with bleeding. Buy a cuff, they are easy to learn. Came to and checked his blood pressure, it was really low. BTW he is still on 2 BP meds (off 1). Take it easy!
