    My BEAUTIFUL CLOTHES......

Heather, 5 months should be magical. But we are all different. 5 months I had lost from 230 to about 170 but I am big boned and looked pretty thin. I am 161 today and a friend today said I looked skinny lol. You are not far from my stats so you should be totally awesome!!!!!

    My BEAUTIFUL CLOTHES......

I weigh 161 now and feel thin. If I don't lose another pound I am thankful and blessed.

    My BEAUTIFUL CLOTHES......

I was so sad and depressed. My ankles were folded and so huge. I could not bear to wear shorts in Florida. The meds also made me swell terribly I believe. I am so into researching natural meds now after horrible blisters and problems with my feet and toes. God Bless.

    extreme hair loss

God Bless you RJ. I am thinning and coping. LOL.

    What is your advice?

I would say take one day at a time and don't worry about stalls. The sleeve works. Enjoy it. Relax.

    extreme hair loss

At 3 months the NUT said I ate too much protein. I had to revise the diet. My hair is thin and coming out for the past two months. Dealing with it.
  7. There are many posts here about this over and over. Make sure you have your blood pressure checked. My husband passed out in the shower due to low blood pressure, and he continues to have episodes a lot. It can also be dehydration. Make sure you seek medical advice if you are concerned and it causes problems. Good luck!

    Risk of Blood Clots

With so much to worry about in life, I recommend not worrying about something you might not get. If you got it you would worry enough. The unknown following WLS is what makes us nervous, but stop and smell the roses, and try to quit the worry!
  10. A small piece of very soft chicken nearly killed me about 4-5 weeks out. I went back to soft foods 2 more weeks. I never want to feel that scare again. You should cut the boiled egg in about 10 small pieces and eat it with a fork. For that matter, this would work on many foods.
  11. I think we all have hair all over the place, and after the last two months of my very fine hair filling my brush, today was different. Hopeful..... Make super sure you are chewing well because larger bites of food can cause pain big time. I love my liquid multivitamin from a compound pharmacy. I take so many pills but the big multivitamin .....NO! Good luck!
  12. I wish everyone would delete the word S T A L L from their life. We all had or will have WLS, and the goal here should be LIVING and loving life, and not the scale and S T A L L. You can see the word stall every single day here, 2 day stall, 4 day stall, 2 week stall, 3 week stall, and I promise there is a long term solution to this and it is patience and following the guidelines of your surgeon and dietician. There is no magic. It is tried and true. I am so delighted with the results of the sleeve, I could die from pure happiness, despite a few problems. Hang in there everyone, and get outdoors. walk, plant flowers, hug your children, and be soooooo happy!!!

    focus on living, not the word S T A L L.

Thanks Ziggy and Teachamy! Life is short. Focus on things that MATTER. I had a 62 year old neighbor, thin and healthy 15 years from WW, who died this week from a heart attack. I hope to help people here focus on life and what matters, and not something as ridiculous as not losing a pound here and there.

Tired of posr opt liquid diet

It is all a distant memory now. We have all been through this and you will survive it and be very happy. Keep busy.
  15. 4 weeks out I was on pureed food. 5 weeks out I choked on a piece of soft chicken. The pain felt like a heart attack. I went on soft food 2 more weeks. Live and learn. At 6 months post sleeve I still am very cautious what I eat. Feel better.

    Post opt weight gain

Get used to this. The weight will come off but not magically. But I can vouch from month to month you will lose. Do not let the scale consume you! Keep busy, stay on your plan, and voila!!!

    Vitamins

I bought Bariatric Advantage Multivitamins and then on recommendation I bought the Source of Life Liquid Gold. I compared the two and the Source of Life was the best, and awesome in comparison. I could hardly swallow the big chalky BA Vitamin so my husband got the BA ones, LOL. No waste! I like the ease of the liquid, and the taste is good.

Please Advise About Eating Solids Too Soon

I seriously do not taste food anymore. Habits are hard to break though. I chocked on a soft piece of chicken at 4 weeks after the sleeve. It was a horrible pain that I thought was a heart attack. Be careful!

    extreme hair loss

I was sleeved in Nov. 2013 also, and for 1 month I am losing my very thin hair every day. Glad you have thick hair!!!
  20. I agree, excessive weight loss in a short time, and not normal. Get medical intervention!

NPO, no sips, no chips, no nothing!

Most people here were not allowed gum or mints or cough drops because trust me if you swallowed it you would ummmm suffer terribly! 1 month post sleeve I did not chew a small piece of crockpot chicken thoroughly enough and I thought I was having a heart attack when it lodged at my breast area inside. Scared me to death. So personally I cannot imagine what gum might do to my insides if I swallowed it after surgery. Having spent 24 hrs. in the hospital, I had surgery at 3pm, and I wanted and had sips of water the next morning and did fine. I had the sticks for my mouth too. Surgery was 10 times easier than expected. My husband and I have never had a minute of nausea. A lot of people do, but not everyone. At 6 months post op, we still eat slowly and carefully. You will be fine. Sometimes we think the worst, we are a little scared of the surgery, but it has been great, just take one day at a time and don't worry so much! Best wishes!

    Vitamins

I think having the WLS requires me to take a good vitamin and I won't skimp because of cost. I have a friend who is a compound pharmacist and one other person who recommended Source of Life Liquid Gold. One bottle (huge), lasted me ?4 months. It cost me $52 but is about $40 on Vitacost with free shipping. My bloodwork (labs) has been excellent. Please make sure you take excellent vitamins whatever you choose. Also I have taken the Biotin religiously, and at 5 and 6 months post sleeve my hair is still coming out in handfuls. Best of luck everyone!

    I cant eat.

You will suffer long-term consequences with your health if you do not get proper nutrition. My hair started falling out at 5 months and at 6 months is still coming out. You will have worse problems. I hope you are taking good vitamins and Biotin for your hair. I would recommend that you see your nutritionist and get a solution to your problem about not wanting to eat. The NUT will change your mind when he tells you what will happen - same thing that happens to people who are anorexic, which is psychological. Best of luck to you!

    60 grams of protein

Our surgeon gave us no rules for getting in proteins, etc. He said do not eat 3 meals a day, eat when you are really hungry. We take good vitamins also. It has worked out great for me and my husband. We eat one meal a day and eat snacks such as fresh celery and string cheese in between. I do recommend following the advice you get from your doctors.

    When did you try salad?

Four months for us. Since we can eat very little of a salad, I use whatever salad dressing we like. Thank goodness no problem because the salads are great for a meal and we all need the vegetables too!
