    Gallbladder!

I had my surgery on Oct 22 and still have my gall bladder. My Dr hasn't said a word to me about it. I'll ask him on my next visit if it's something I should be worried about.
  4. I was sleeved on 10/22 and have been going thru pretty much the same thing. I even asked the surgeon the other day if he took out as much as he was supposed too! Lol I have to force myself to only drink the 4 - 6 oz at a time so I don't over do it. And since moving to purée on wed I find myself eating my 4 tablespoons of purée and then looking to the bottom of the bowl to see if there's more! Yesterday I ate my puréed meal at 5 and by 8 or 9 I found myself 'cruising' thru the kitchen 'looking'! I had to force myself to keep drinking so as not to indulge in all the kids Halloween candy! I sure hope it gets easier!

    Drain...

I had my surgery on the Oct 22nd. I didn't have any pain from my drain but noticed that when they took it out I felt better. It didn't hurt coming out, but felt a little weird. Good luck!
  6. I was sleeved on the 22nd. Have not had any real pain to speak of except a little bit on the first day and no gas pains what so ever. Made myself get out of bed at the hospital the first night and walk a little bit. Been better and better since. Today I walked 1 1/2 miles. Been keeping my required liquids down since they gave me the ok to drink after the leak test. I was actually getting down 6 - 8 ozs and hour the first day and when I told the doc he had a shitfit and told me to stick to 4 oz for the first week. Have not felt nauseus at all thank god and really no incision pain to speak of, Occasionally when I cough or sneeze I'll feel pain. Knock on wood I think I've been pretty lucky.
  7. Know I read it here somewhere, but how many ounces are in a standard size ice pop?

    October Sleevers - Men's Room

I just got home from hospital today. Surgery was Tues at 1pm and went pretty good. Woke up to minimal pain in my stomach and no gas pains what so ever. I would have to say the hardest part about the first day for me was not being able to drink, my mouth was sooo dry, lucky the nurses gave me a sponge on a stick to moisten my mouth. The next day I went for my swallow study first thing in the morning, and have been drinking ever since. I have had no problem drinking my shakes, Water, broth, etc. I have been trying to stay away from sweet stuff (ice pops, flavored water, etc) because it gives me phlegm which i then have to cough up, and thats painful. I'm on Clear liquids until my appt next wed at which time I hope he lets me move to pureed. Knock on wood everything has gone great for me. Keeping my fingers crossed that it continues.

    Six incisions...Why?

I asked my Doctor the other day how many incisions I would have and he said six. He said the sixth one, below my left breast, was to hold the liver out of the way. My surgery is tomorrow.

  13. My surgery is set for Oct 22nd and I start my pre-op diet on Tuesday. I have a meeting scheduled with the surgeon on Thursday and I'm wondering what questions I might want to ask him before my surgery. what questions did you ask?
  14. I'm 43 years old, 286lbs, got the clearance for surgery, it happens on Oct 22nd at 1pm. I've found alot of useful info on this site so far and I look forward to my future after the sleeve.
