    Smooth Recovery? Anyone?

Had surgery on the 13th. Getting released today. I feel pretty darn good. Looking forward to going home and actually getting some rest! Best of luck to you!
  3. I am pleased to report all went well. I have been walking laps and feeling remarkably well. Hurt like crazy when I woke up but the pain meds kicked in. All good since. Serious recommendation: INSIST ON NAUSEA MEDS! throughout the first day at least. Guy in room next to me sounds like he was not proactive and I am sitting here feeling great empathy fir him. Best of luck to you all!!

    Are You Nervous?

Congratulations to you! I had to post about the "how much have you lost" question that we will be receiving. I really like the answer "a bunch!" My surgery was yesterday and I was calm going in and feel amazing and accomplished right now. Except for no sleep, all is good!

    November buddies where are you?

Today is my day too. I feel very calm. It is amazing what a few years of research, a year of prep, and a great support group can do to ease ones anxieties... Best of luck to you all! I will update as I am able...
  10. It is frustrating to read about all the 15 - 25 pre-op losers. I am happy for them, but I sure cannot relate... My surgery is on wed too. Best of luck to you! See you on the losers bench!
  11. Going to have the cleanest house on the block! Have some newfound energy to clean, shop, etc. anyone else experience this? Now, if only it stays this way while I am away... Lol!
  12. 7:30 is perfect! I will be thinking of you and wishing you great success! Buying rice today! Even if hospital can't heat them, it will be nice for while you are home.
  13. Rice bags... What a great idea! We share the same date. Best of luck to you. My surgery isn't until 3:00. Going to be very thirsty... I am ready. Not nervous or anxious at all. So surreal...
  14. I felt the same way. My surgeon actually referred to this as declaring "body bankruptcy" as in you can only do this once and have a clean slate. I related to that. This is a fresh start for so many. I had to have six months of counseling to understand my unhealthy relationship with food. Already thinking about Trying to "sneak" food into a pre-op diet is normal, but not good. Take the time you have and try to determine how you can make the diet work. Not the other way. On a personal note, for the pre-op, I found that all that protein really curbed my appetite. Making the two weeks easier than I thought. I hope you feel the same way! Best of luck to you as said above this, we ARE the lucky ones!
  15. Oops! Sent too soon... Ten days to drop five pounds and it didn't register until the tenth day. So depressing as I followed the diet to the letter. Clear liquids tomorrow and surgery late Wednesday! Cannot wait! Good luck and hang in there. It will come off.
  16. Oh can I relate! It took ten days for the scale to
  17. Try cooking the correct vegetables in chicken broth. Flavor them with low sodium seasoning and blending that. Or just eat them that way. Put broccoli, green beans, zucchini, celery and onions in the mix. Excellent and not cheating.
  18. Yuck! Anyone else have a late surgery time? How did your day go? It's going to be a looooong time without water. Oh well, small price to pay for ultimate goal.

    3:00 PM Surgery time!

Thank you all. 11/13 for me... I forgot all about the IV. I don't even check in until 12:45 Positively ready!
  20. Awful, awful time! Glad it is scheduled and I've survived the first 5 days of the pre-op diet, but 3:00 PM?! That will be a very long day. Anyone else have late surgeries? How'd the day go?

    9 days and counting

I too am a Nov 13th sleever! Feeling very good about this as my insurance required 6 months of counseling and nutrition classes. Prepared me well in addition to the many years of trying to decide if WLS would be too "extreme" for me. Decided a healthy me is what was best... I wish you great success! I am in Northern California. You?

    2013 November Sleevers

Congrats to all the November sleevers! I am a newbie on this site and have gone through 9 months of required weekly meetings, tests, etc. Finally see the surgeon next Friday and his staff have already assigned me Nov. 13th. Woo hoo! Longest process but one I am not taking lightly. Ten years of going back and forth and not wanting to "take the "easy" way out" LOL! What a joke now that I have done this process. Easy my you-know-what! So ready for this
