normal not to be overly nervous?
DirtyHarriett replied to truck8595's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was ready. Months of classes, pre op tests, this forum, and research and I was ready. I had cleaned my house, stocked up on the correct food items and was looking forward to embracing the new me! No nerves at all. I felt like I could teach a class I was so prepared. Zero regrets! Never ever... -
My plan is for diet cranberry and vodka. Or diet lemonade and watermelon vodka. As long as vodka is somewhere in there... Lol

I knew it was winter somewhere! I live in NorCal and we are experiencing a terrible drought... -
Talk to your doc. Stalls are frustrating however diuretics are for swelling in tissue and water retention. The stall will break!

Wondering if anyone stayed home alone right after surgery?
DirtyHarriett replied to trudyjo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have your meds and food/juice/broth/protein, etc home when you get there and a way to get in and out of bed or recliner. The other things can wait a bit until you feel better. Have your charger so you don't have to bend over. Slip on shoes for walking, etc. I only needed help with leveraging myself from sitting in a deep couch. Zero abdominal strength... You should not need a caregiver. -

How are you zoumommy? Hope all is well! -
Their pasta is SCARY when you first open it... Smells like rotten fish. Not kidding. That said, it (the smell) rinses away and then you flash boil it. Overall, not bad if you must have pasta. I am choosing to not have pasta until I get to my goal weight. Just a personal choice... I eat turkey meatballs with sauce and it is Italian enough for me!

How much were you losing at 2 months?
DirtyHarriett replied to LumpySpacePrincess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 12 weeks out today. I don't lose anything for 10-15 days, then drop 4-5 lbs. it drove me crazy to read about everyone losing every day, every other day. Finally realized this is MY pattern and it is ok. If scale goes down and not up, I'm golden! We are all unique. Follow your program, have faith. -
constipation Wow
DirtyHarriett replied to Laura120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Poor Laura! I was training a gerbil to use a flashlight and a pick axe!!! That was by far, the worst part of my recovery... -
I was just going to mention Tramadol... Works great. I hope you feel better!

DirtyHarriett replied to UNbLIVable's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
AQUAPHOR!! Best stuff ever. Feels a little heavy going on but huge Improvement in a few days. Can get at most stores and affordable. The dry skin does improve over time. Hang in there -

Welcome back gamer girl! -
So many ways to enjoy tuna! I use the water packed albacore from Costco. Drain well, little low cal mayo, finely diced celery, dill pickle and red or green onions. Celery for crunch and this makes me happy! Going to make some right now...

Hummus. Love the supremely spicy. Part of a Quest bar. Dill pickles. Plain or with a piece of lunch meat wrapped around it. Turkey pepperoni "chips" Mound a small handful of shredded cheese and bake at 350 until melted and brown. Renders some fat and tastes amazing. Those are my favorites...

Totally clogged
DirtyHarriett replied to GotItDoneInHarlem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Far and away the worst part for me. I made the joke before that I was going to train a hamster to use a flashlight and a pick axe! Milk of magnesia worked for me. Stay on top of it once you get things moving! -
Refried beans ideas
DirtyHarriett replied to donaboss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In the beginning I would go to Taco Bell and get pintos and cheese and a side scoop of taco meat. I would mix them together and be in heaven! Could only eat a small bit, but it was perfect for me! -
Taste blood 1 wk after surgery?
DirtyHarriett replied to Schmincke's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And if your tongue is coated in a white-like coating, it could be thrush. That tastes nasty and is very common. -
Walking. Alot... Dog losing more than me!
DirtyHarriett posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
True. Been on some serious stalls. Not worried as I know I will have to lose eventually. Following plan and kicked up walking. In two weeks, I've lost one pound and my dog has lost 4! Lol! -
I still struggle with....(fill in the blanks)
DirtyHarriett replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
STALLS! Way too many and way too often... It stinks to be a slow loser! -
I bake cauliflower with a tiny bit of olive oil, salt and pepper until it is crunchy. I love it and it sits nicely. I'm 9.5 weeks out. It amazes me what "works" for some and not others!

Making spice rubbed baby back ribs and whatever the neighbors bring... The family didn't have surgery so there will be lots of snacks. I don't mind as I can resist pretty easily. Can't eat much so quality counts! The crab sounds delish!
