Congratulations and good luck! I love your screen name. I was wondering what exactly is your picture. My mind works a little differently so I know that could not be what I think it is. -
Whoa there cowgirl, pump the breaks. Sounds like somebody likes living on the edge! In my own mind this seems like the bariatric equivalent to emotional cutting. I don't know you and have not even looked at your profile but just ask yourself why you had this surgery in the first place and what you were hoping to accomplish in doing so. If after evaluating all that you determine pizza and cheesy mac and hot dogs are all still part of the equation then do you. Just remember you were gutted like a fish 5 weeks ago and there is a reason that your medical team recommended certain food progression steps. After all there is just a tiny little row of delicate staples separating that chili dog from spilling onto your internal organs. Bon appetit!

Constipation on full liquids

Miralax works really well. It mixes in water and has no taste. I add it to crystal light. -
5 days Post OP - sad, depressed
Sleevie J replied to lynchdalynx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was having a tough day today myself. I just wished I was at my goal weight, getting dressed for saturday night, headed out for a night of flirting and debauchery. Shoot, my eyes even acted like they wanted to get all teary cause i'm posted up in front of the computer in sweat pants with a bottle of water instead. But then my inner reasonable person reminded me that I am currently well on my way to being the me I used to be. Once again having choices and being comfortable in my own skin doing whatever it is my heart pleases. We have taken the difficult steps to make the biggest impact on our lives and our health we could ever make. If it was easy everybody would do it. Sometime we just have to remind our selves of our own strength. -
5 days Post OP - sad, depressed
Sleevie J replied to lynchdalynx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get you some gas-x and tell dude he gonna have to go in the next room with that food. You've only been out of the hospital a few days it will get better every day. sip something every 10-15 minutes and when he eats you go outside and take a walk. you will be amazed at how much it improves the gas. this is not hell. hell is being trapped in a body that holds you back from being the person you want to be. this is like purchasing a one way ticket on a crappy bus out of hell. sure the journey will not be easy or comfortable and will suck like hell but each pound down gets you closer to your goal and baaaaby when you get there you will enjoy it. keep your eyes on the prize. he flaunts his food today you flaunt your body tomorrow! -
Well that explains everything. I knew this junk in my trunk served a much higher purpose!

Get it girl! -
Congratulations! You ain't seen nothing yet. You are so right, the gas pains really are the worst part of the entire surgery. And, they stick around for a few weeks. But it does get better everyday. Walking as difficult as it may be made the biggest impact on the gas. Enjoy your narcotics the next few days but get off of them as soon as you can tolerate since they contribute to the gas. Good luck. I was sleeved on Oct. 14 and today I did a 6 mile walk and my clothes already feel a little loose. I wake up feeling really good about my decision each day. Good luck in your journey. Now hit the narcotic pump and nod off.

OCTOBER SLEEVERS- How Ya Doin'?
Sleevie J replied to TxCalico's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on Oct 14th. Things have been GREAT! No nausea, vomiting, pain, just been smooth sailing. I am sooooo proud of myself I just got in from a 6 mile brisk walk this morning. I have NEVER EVER EVER done 6 miles in the same month let alone same day. I am loosing weight and i'm not hungry. I even have to set reminders to eat! I get in all of my supplements and vitamins and protein. My television has hardly been turned on at all in the last 2 weeks and my clothes feel better. I'm almost in tears thinking of the positive changes to my life in this short a period. I cant wait for the next 12 months to unfold. Go us!!!! -
I originally wanted to be Sleevie Wonder but it was taken. I just wanted anything that would replace Stevie with Sleevie. (reason still unknown even to me) So the only Stevie I could think of that particular evening was Stevie J. He was a very talented hip-hop music producer in the late 90's but has since fallen from grace and is now a lowly reality tv "star". I realized immediately after creating my new moniker that I would have much preferred to be known as Sleevie Nicks. BTW today I replaced the wasted cat pic with a real photo of myself in a fake cowboy hat!

Unjury unflavored powder
Sleevie J replied to Sassy Pants1's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Not a huge fan of the unflavored but since I purchased a tub of it... I do find it works in my morning protein smoothie which really could end up any number of ways. I do the powered peanut butter with soy milk and ice add a drop of stevia, or soy milk, instant decaf, ice and some flavor of sf syrup. the unflavored really is detectable to me in most things but the strength of coffee and also peanut butter seems to mask it best for me. -

wait, it's soft AND chewy? (grabs keys and shoes headed to nearest wal-mart but turns around remembering she is only 2 1/2 weeks post op and this would not be a good look right now. sits back down disappointed in self and begins to harbor resentment towards gamergirl) -

5 Confessions (Join In)
Sleevie J replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I confess that I miss wine more than food. I confess I'm afraid of loosing my butt! I confess I hate exercise. I confess that I cant wait to loose 50 lbs and see my ex. I confess my life is lonely right now. I confess I haven't decided what i will tell people when my weight loss becomes apparent. i confess i will not give out Halloween candy for fear I might eat some of it. I confess I will be purchasing a slutty costume tomorrow that I will wear next year. -
Just when you think it's about to be smooth sailing.......BAM!
Sleevie J replied to mswisdom's topic in Rants & Raves
Girlfriend you find someone to look after them babies while you are gone and the rest is a wrap. I speak from experience. Both my parents are dead and gone god bless their souls. I have no husband, no children and a brother and a half sister who both live in my city but are self absorbed. I prepped my home for surgery the weeks leading up to it by doing laundry, changing sheets and shopping for post op things like broth, jello, etc... I packed my bag for the hospital and drove my self there. Hell, I even arranged to have flowers delivered to myself. I arrived and was asked a million times "who's here with you?" my response was "no one, please make sure my bags are brought up with me after surgery and in case of emergency call my brother" Sometimes you just gotta do what needs to be done help or no help. My brother did drive me home from the hospital but just in case I had cab fare on hand too! Shoot, people always think they need to be flanked by a bunch of family in the hospital. -
Protein drink quandry...advice?
Sleevie J replied to Teachamy's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
The Isopure ready to drink is 40 grams of protein per 20 oz bottle. I also get protein from pureed meats and I make a 24 oz protein shake every morning using 1-2 scoops of unjury w sf flavored syrups and soy milk, sometimes a spoon of instant coffee, greek yogurt, or a banana etc... I try to make sure that every oz of food or drink counts. -
