Hello everyone, I am close to being sleeved. I just need the OK to schedule with the surgeon to get my date. anyway.....I was wondering what your experiences with loose skin are. I am 51 and I don't think any of my skin will shrink at my age. I am 5'6 and 242 down from high if 258. I do exercise.

Dr David Chengalis, Beaumont Royal Oak, MI
paj92434 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi has anyone else had Dr Chengalis? I will go see him for the first time this coming Thursday. I started this process in Aug and I have BCN of MI. I went to a seminar with him and liked his personality. -
Hello everyone, I have BCN of MI and I was approved with no issues, I had to do 6 months of supervision. I lost and gained 10 lbs or so. There was no WL requirement but I was sure when I went to checkup close to 6 months that I was down. I have since gained but my date is 3/25/14. I start my pre opp diet this coming Monday 3/10/14. I went through Beaumont of Royal Oak MI. As long as paperwork is turned in with data that says you need the surgery BCN of MI is no problem. I just wanted to share this info

Coffee - with caffiene or not?
paj92434 replied to Gendy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, I'm 5 months out and I have ONE cup of regular coffee a day, in the morning. I have no negative issues with this. The only problem you may have is that if you drink this it may interfere with your other liquids or your breakfast ie protein intake. It is unrealistic to me that I cannot have certain things that I enjoy. This surgery has enabled me to know what moderation is. This is just me and I am not trying to tell anyone else to do anything that their doc says to do or not to do. -
HI everybody. I was wondering how many pounds you lost in you first 3 months after sleeve surgery. I know everyone is different but I am just trying to get an idea. Thanks

Hi you all. I had my surgery last week Tuesday 3/25. I had a large hiatle (not sure of spelling) hernia. My doc said half my stomach was in my chest. I went for leak test and dye got stuck. It did go down next day.I also had Fluid in my lungs. I was in hospital for 4 days. My doc wanted 5 but I begged him to let me go home. I am better today but had to have more fluid put in me yesterday through Iv at doc office. To be honest I regretted the surgery for the first few days. I cant wait to get to next stage in diet because am so sick of shakes now. I am sorry if I sound ungrateful or negative. I am sure I will be OK and my funk will change.

Hello, I was wondering how many people followed the diet to a T after surgery. Did you start any food earlier? I am 10 days out and I had scrambled eggs this morning. I did not have any problems with them. I am supposed to be on full liquids till Tue. My stomach seems to growl all the time. I was just wondering what your experiences with food were during your first 6 weeks. Thanks

Hello, I find that I am so hungry. I don't understand why, Its more than head hunger because my stomach is growling. I understand that I went through this surgery for a reason but one main one is I thought I WOULD NOT BE HUNGRY!!!! Why am I hungry??? My start weight in this process was 248. I did not take this surgery lightly or for granted. I am just being honest, I am on full liquids but did have some things yesterday against my diet. I think I better just suck it up & deal with it and hope things get easier. to Loseit2014 thank you so much for your honestly!!

Hi hopeful, you will be fine. I have had these very same thoughts and I am 51. My surgery date is the 21st of this month but was changed to the 25th. I feel this is the greatest gift we could have for our condition. All the thoughts and feelings we have are normal. Before you know it we will be recovering & on our way to a new life -

Helpful info about Pre Op Psych Eval.
paj92434 replied to MorganO87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I remember when I had mine I was also nervous. I do personally think you should not tell if there are any real negative things if you don't want to postpone your surgery. By this I mean if you have overcome things and are OK don't tell if you have had a serious eating disorder in the past or if you do not have a support person. I answered questions on test by how I thought they wanted me to. I made it all seem very positive. I know this may seem terrible to some people but sometimes the psychologists can postpone your surgery for the questions you answered on the test. This can throw off your whole plan. However if you have problems don't go without the help you may need. If you have serious depression or other problems get help but you may need to wait for surgery. -
Yaaaaa!!! Congrats!! I cant wait for my NSVs!!!! I get my surgery 3/25!!
