Although come to think of it at my last weigh in I was up 2 lbs from surgery and have lost 9 lbs this week.
-
They weighed me , took my height, took a urine sample, checked my heart, vital signs like blood pressure, temp, lungs, reflexes, liver, and took blood samples. That was it, quick and easy. Just like a yearly exam

Wahoo on the 21lbs loss. That's great. I have decided to not weigh myself until Thursday. So far I'm down to 235lbs as of yesterday, which puts me 15 lbs under my highest weight but not much down from pre op weight. I'm a revision so I might just end up losing slower, we'll see.

I think in the next week we should start our post op page. That way once someone finishes surgery they can move over to the post op page! Also, what is everyone's goal for after surgery? What size/weight do you hope to end up as? What are some nsv's do you hope to accomplish?

This is what I see to add picture on android app. Hope it helps some people.
-
See, also when I hit the plus sign, another little page shows up with 3 squares at the top. It says attach picture.
-
I have android but when I'm typing there is a section on the side with a plus in a circle. I click that and another page shows for pics. I hit that.

My 16 month old is mean. Ever since surgery he has been extra busy and picking on me. Always climbing on me, sitting by me wiggling. I feel like a football player guarding a ball, like I have to do with my stomach around him. I can't wait to be fully healed.

It's probably a food funeral for you. After surgery you may never get to eat ice cream again (depending on if you dump and what you dump on), your subconscious knows this so you're being bothered by it. Hang in there!

11 days post op and I feel like actual hunger is starting. I hear it can happen before you go on more dense diet. Head hunger is here full swing. No pain meds in over 24 hours, can't wait until Thursday when I'll be able to taste something more than broth, Popsicles, and creamy soups.

Good luck and speedy recovery to the two ladies having surgery today! Layknee, your daughter is too cute!
-
Also wanted to add that my level of pain probably has more to do with removal of the band and scar tissue than it does for the actual bypass.
-
10 days post op and nearly no pain. I haven't used any pain meds today, or muscle relaxants. Got all my required protein in already thanks to gene pro. Tried it in tomato soup, nope not going to work. Seems juice is the best way for me to take it for now until I can put it in something.

So update. My nausea has improved very well. It is very slight if even there at all. I'm getting my fluids in and keeping to program. Thanks for the encouragement.
-
You should go to the veterans forum. I have a friend who is 5 years out and hasn't had not a single complication.
-
How are you feeling now Kimteehee? I'm hoping you are doing a bit better.

I'm not as educated as you all (CNA here) just wanted to put out one word of advice. Don't try to do it all by yourself right off bat. We tend to do that in this profession because people are always looking for help and we are the ones to help them. Good luck on Surgery later today! Congrats!

Walkin you're not the only one. If I try hard enough I can get in 64oz of water plus my protein and meals. I just hate drinking water. Even sipping I can finish my liquid meal in 20 minutes. I don't gulp N water but can take more than 1 sip at a time.
-
Thanks for this. I had surgery 10/2/14 so I am exactly a year after you. I hope to do as well as you have!

They would give you bottoms if wanted. I just don't see a reason to bring your own when you will be extremely bloated and in pain. Plus they will be getting blood, changing lines, looking at incisions frequently (at least every 4 hours) and giving blood thinning injections. Plus you don't want hospital germs on more of your things than necessary ( sorry this is my CNA talking). So no change in how I'm feeling now than I was when I took the protein in the beginning. If tomorrow goes well, this will.be my new protein. I feel just fine. If my incisions would stop hurting, I'd be one happy camper. I took pain meds twice today but I did go for quite a walk today too.

So a mini update on my protein issue. I ordered Bene pro and had it overnighted to me. I just tried it 20 minutes ago. When they say it is tasteless, it literally is. I mixed it with 4 oz of apple juice. I would note that it probably needs a little more liquid and mix it with a fork. All it did was make the apple juice cloudy. It did not change the taste or texture for that matter at all. So far so good, no bloat, no nausea. Feeling really full however I also took my pills right after. I will update more if anything happens to change. If not, then I just found my protein!

Oh my Dc0520, are you alright? It sure must have been scary. Hang in there.

Has anyone had LapBand to Sleeve then converted to Bypass?
AuriP replied to RxtineVsg's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I've haven't experienced the sleeve but I did just revise to bypass. I would look in the band to bypass section. I believe there are some member who have had all 3 surgeries. -
I just got revised a week ago. I did have to start all over. Had to have all tests redone, had to have NUT appointments, weight loss, psych eval. It is very frustrating. Hopefully it all works out for you.

I guess so Beni, dire needs only though, lol! I do fine sipping. My incisions are still freakin sore which makes bending over impossible, which also makes changing a diaper impossible too. I find that I'm able to get up easier, faster now. As soon as the incision pain leaves me I will be as good as ever. I still sometimes think , what did I do to myself. Matter of fact 4 days post op was a very bad day for me. Gas pains, nausea, general pain, I cried, hard. My husband was mad at me because I wasn't relying on him like I was supposed to. Remember to utilize all the help you can get, we are amazing but not superhuman.
