On the junk food...
This, you won't want to hear, but it's truth. He didn't have surgery, you did. He doesn't need to change his eating habits, you do. In a a perfect world, everyone around you would be supportive and all temptations would disappear, but that's not reality. I'd suggest that you make a cabinet for your foods and a cabinet for his. He can't touch yours and out of sight out of mind on his food for you. You have to relearn habits and you *will* figure it out, I'm sure. In the meantime, talk to him, tell him your feelings, but you can't make him change and you can't be but so mad at him for not changing his habits for you. That's not fair.
On cooking dinner. Ha! Really? Not your problem. Unless you have kids to feed, you don't have to cook. If you choose to, cook YOUR foods. Trust me, he won't like the mushies much.

Hey show him this video and see if all the pop is worth it.
And after you watch this video be glad that you have made a choice to eat healthier and look after your body and let him do what he is going to do..okay..This is about you changing not him. It would be wonderful if he supported you but he has his own reasons to try to sabotage you..Maybe he is afraid that you will become too gorgeous for him to keep as a mate and he is comfortable with the person he sees in front of him..Sad but true..Our mates can go completely nuts on us with the fear that we may no longer want them if we are thin....
This ought to cure anyone from drinking soda pop, cokes etc... . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZp29Qeu8_U -

He's gonna do what he's gonna do, but you need to look out for number one, and if he's standing in your way and won't even talk about it, then that's a problem and you have to find a way of dealing with it. Also, why on earth does he expect you to cook? It's not 1954; he should be capable of scrambling an egg.

For most of us it takes a week - 10 days for all the IV Fluid from surgery to clear out. All that Water weight makes the scale a liar! Besides, 4 pounds in 7 days is FANTASTIC. Seriously, don't expect to lose 4 lbs every week.
In my opinion you'll be a lot more confident and at peace if you weigh yourself every couple of weeks or less and try to ease up on some of the expectations.

Embrace and rejoice that you made the best decision of your life! Relax and don't worry so much about the scale...it will make you crazy! Just follow the doctor prescribed menu and remember this is not a sprint...Congratulations!

Hi Stacy,

I LOVE this thread!!!! I am literally sitting here smiling. Congrats to EVERYONE. We did it!!!
I identified with quite a few, particularly feeling my bones rub and having to put a pillow between my legs in bed.
For me I'd say:
Being complimented a TON.
Showing people a picture of the "old" me and having them say "OMG I cannot believe that is you!".
Trying on a size small and having it fit.
Thinking a size of clothing will never fit me and then finding out it does, or is even too big!
Having someone call me "thin".
You stop worrying about weight restrictions for floating objects (rafts, boats, kayaks... all of which I would have never attempted)
Your stretchy size xxl workout pants literally fall off.
Shoes don't fit anymore
You have plenty of room in an airplane seat

When you put on a pair of jeans you haven't worn in forever and can still bend at the hips and tie your shoes (without gasping for air and turning bright red!)

When not only do you approach push-mowing the lawn with enthusiasm, you throw on last year's sneakers to do it and just can't lace them up tight enough and they're still sloppy on your new, cute little feet.

when you go to your sons class for back to school night and you fit in the kids desk that is attached to the chair without pushing yourself in and pulling of fat to fit, and you get out of it without the jaws of life lol
