Slider Foods? What is everyone's slider fiods?
Inactive Profile replied to lapnicky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just don't allow myself to eat anything high cal or carbs, I think it's very important to keep yourself away from the bad food that could become your slider. My personal belief is I put my body threw major surgery and had a huge part removed, why do all that if I go back to my old ways. This is just how I believe. I understand not everyone thinks that way but it's working for me. Iv lost a total of 80 lbs 70 since sleeved oct 9 th, my way of thinking had paid off for me. So at 11 days post op plz don't be even wondering ab sliders bc it might be your down fall a few months out -

What size bougie was used?
Inactive Profile replied to niassy151's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did ask mine, he said he used the tube they used in my air way, he said he put it in 3 in and cut around it, my sleeve is in the smaller size, I made sure to stress I wanted 80-85% removed , and trust me there is no mistaking how small it is for me. I def can't eat as much as it seems others in here can ( from what I can tell when they talk about it) -

Did anyone Not lose weight during pre-op
Inactive Profile replied to sweetcheeks14's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 10 lbs, I was not expecting to lose any, I bet once you have the surgery it will just start falling off, it's do amazing! Just don't be like this guy at my support group at 5 weeks post op was bragging how he could eat what ever he wanted, I'm sitting there thinking, why would you even try that junk? -
Your not even going to want it once you are sleeved, I'm little over 4 months out and I still don't want food, once your like a year or so out you might want some but by then your going to think to your self " yea I could eat that but dang I look fine and I will not eat that junk "

13 yr old getting sleeve. Need recommendations in Mexico
Inactive Profile replied to slcmommy5's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Have you tried weight watchers, my sister and I did it she was 13 I was 15, she lost 69 lbs and I lost 100, I keep mine off for 12 years till I hurt my back and she never regained, I know you said you tried everything but give that a try again or for the 1st time. At her age she will not notice the food change as much and you can teach her an foods, kids burn fat so fast, and this way too if she gets older and gains latter she can have a sleeve then. I so lived WW it gave me a life as I had not had one before, I was able to enjoy the beach, flirting, clothes, all the teen stuff things I never did when I was the fat kid -
I had typed a whole thing but canceled it, if you will message me i would like to talk.

I Think I Am A Sleeve Failure!
Inactive Profile replied to frumpy69's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't worry, you body is having to reset, I stalled for 3 weeks ( only lost 3 lbs!) I was losing 5-10 a week, so I changed things up, re though my work outs, while I was eating great, I cut my cal down by 200, and 2 days ago I started losing again. Just change it up. I had a friend get stick at 187 for months! Last 6 weeks she dropped to 158 ( she is short 158 is my goal but far from hers lol) . While I still have a long way to go these last few weeks I looked back at how far I had cane to power me threw the stall. -

Embarrassing Question - What To Tell Casual Friends
Inactive Profile replied to Karen W's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm from a super small town! I went home home once for the weekend while my husband worked just to see my dad and before my bag was unpacked ppl where saying I had left my husband and moved home, my phone was blowing up! So I turned right around and left ( I'm to old and came to far in my life to be sucked in to small town small mindedness and more) . So when it came down to me having my sleeve I did not want anyone to know, but then I thought, oh God these damn ppl will start even worse rumors like iv got HIV or a eating disorder. So if a friend will ask " how are you dropping weight" I tell the truth, iv told maybe 12 ppl from back home, but the whole town knows now. I had gained 128 lb from the time I moved away till my sleeve, so ppl gasped at me and talked ab me for that, so is rather them talk ab me " taking the easy way out" . Sorry I'm just going on and on. But maybe it helped. -

I went off post for a year trying to get a sleeve covered, the sleeve is not covered off post YET just like bypass was not covered in the past but is now one day the sleeve will to. So I changed over to prime and starred on post. Most all AMC do the sleeve in house, but tri-care want cover it. I pleased with the care I got. But like I said in my post before, the system getting to the surgery was not the best, so just stick to it and be your own voice, call call call -

I had mine at Fort Gordon, it took little over 5 months, lot of hoops , lots of stalls with the system . But worth it in the end. -

Wondering if anyone stayed home alone right after surgery?
Inactive Profile replied to trudyjo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you don't have little ones ( 2 legged kind) I think you will be fine alone, but keep in mind you are still at small risked for post op comp, maybe have someone call you every hour or so to make sure you are ok. -
How much did your surgery cost?
Inactive Profile replied to Ree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You know I have no clue what the over all cost would have been for mine, I had everything done at an Army Med center. So they did not even send me a brake down.
