What do you miss most after Weight Loss Surgery?
fat_free replied to Menelly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ankinrae - don't hate me.... I didn't have to do a pre-op liquid diet at all. As a matter of fact I spent the weekend before my surgery in Vegas (I stuck to my nutrionist plan that I followed for awhile prior to though. It was just healthy eating a a limit of 1200 cals a day) -
I had initially only told my immediate family, my best friend and boss. However, since I was off work for 5 weeks so many people are/were concerned they are asking how I am doing, noticing the wright loss and asking what kind of surgery I had. So far I still have not explained what I've had done but I feel bad because I am usually very transparent in my discussions with my staff and colleagues at work. Feel like I could start yo open up but holding off just yet. Needed to feel very secure first I think....

What do you miss most after Weight Loss Surgery?
fat_free replied to Menelly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am early on out - 6 weeks. Honestly, I do not miss anything at all. I have no cravings, have been to birthday celebrations, pot luck lunches, etc and am happy to have my protein and a taste of a vegetable. I am full, content and happy to be losing the weight! -

What to take to the hospital?
fat_free replied to Jessica305's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As little as possible. You likely won't have the desire to do much. Just slippers, loose cloths to go home in, brush/comb, toothpaste and a toothbrush. I brought some eyeliner to wear to go home - cause I don't go outside without it. That's about it. Was home 2.5 days from surgery and didn't feel well enough to read etc, just either slept or walked. -
Wow, amazing changes! You look 20yrs younger now too! Congratulations on your hard work
-
Both are very normal. There is no possible way you could eat enough at this stage to really gain 2lbs (that would require you to eat 3500calx2 I order to gain). It is water retention. As for your BM's, well...liquid I usually meant liquid out for me too. Took about 2+ weeks before things started to get more ...mmm...solid

Totally understand. This plagues me after every single surgery. Gravol helps.

That is so sad. I have known quite a few people here in Edmonton that went to him. I personally went through our Bariatric clinic. But have heard such tremendous praise of him. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family, colleagues and patients. -

How soon did you return to work?
fat_free replied to countrygrl1978's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I feel spoiled, I was off for 4 weeks as per my doctors requirements. It was ideal. Although, I did not have any complications - it did give me the opportunity to get started on regular foods and tracking etc. it was ideal for me -

Dizzy and nauseous some days - 5 weeks out
fat_free posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Now that I am back to work and it is so busy some days I am finding that I don't get my water in until I am home from work. Although I do get about 16oz in at work. However, lately I have been getting quite nauseous and dizzy/headachy by mid day. Could this be because I am not fully hydrated during the day? I know I need to figure out a way to make sure I drink all day long but it keeps slipping my mind. -
Hi bnice Have you been tracking your food intake. I use my fitness pal and it really helps me track and reflect on what I am eating. I am only 5 weeks out so hopefully some vets can give you more insight as well.
