If you want something that's not sweet, try V8 juice with some unflavored protein powder mixed in. I used the Syntrax medical grade unflavored. Also mixed that into lower carb sugar free yougurt. I couldn't tolerate plain water. Still don't like it. I'm using H2o fruit water and come times Mio drops. Hang in there. It gets easier.

Aren't you just cute as anything! Congrats on a great job.

diabetics
chris1142 replied to Tracis weight loss journey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm about 5 1/2 months out and have been off insulin and all meds since 2 weeks prior to surgery. Had an a1c done 2 weeks ago and it was 6.0. And my glucose levels are still declining slowly. My PCP says for all intents and purposes I'm not diabetic any more. But warns that it will come back if I start eating crazy again. -
It's been a long , but wonderful year

If you are asking for advice...
chris1142 replied to gowalking's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thank you vets! Because I read this site obsessively for several months before my surgery I knew from the get go what to do to be successful for me and I have sucked it up and done that for the 5 months I have been sleeved. Without the wise words of the terrific vets on the forum I just might of tried doing this my way rather than my surgeons way and that most likely would have gotten me where it's always gotten me--to another failed attempt at weight loss. So I big Thank You to all the vets for telling what works for them. -
Cant believe im doing this!

Home Aloners who cook...what do you do with all the extra food?
chris1142 replied to blessedandfavored's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't live alone, but my hubs cooks for himself. (What a sweetie he is). I cook a lot of casseroles and jigger the recipes so they are heavy on the protein. I then eat a serving and have one the next day and freeze the rest. I freeze my left overs in silicone muffin pans. When frozen I pop them out and double bag them in freezer bags. Sometimes I cook two or three at a time and. Put it all in the freezer. I always have a supply on hand that way. I get most of the recipes from the Eggface web site. I really like her recipes. -
Knowing what you know now.......

Follow your program's plan to the letter. If you want to make changes to your plan consult with your NUT before doing so. Remember that it is way easier to stay on plan than to get back on plan. Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery and great results -
I use my fitness pal daily and record everything. That is one of the things that research says helps the most in having a successful long term outcome. Also if I think I'm not losing enough or fast enough I can show it to my NUT and get some advice on what changes, if any, I should make

Love your attitude and sense of humor. I'm happy you will get your surgery. I am a 10 year breast cancer survivor and a 5 year lymphoma survivor. The lymphoma has a good chance of a return performance so I know what you are going through. Here's hoping we both beat the odds. I was sleeved 4.5 months ago and am very happy with the results. I will be stronger and healthier if I have to do battle again. And so will you. All the best to you. Chris
