    Gas x

You can buy a 6 pack of the strips on Amazon.
  2. I am on Tuesday. I have mixed emotions. I'm not really worried about pain, just hoping I can get through the first few months relatively unscathed.

    Doubting Thomas

I've been on liquids only since 12/3 and only lost 4 lbs. I am curious how this is going to work as well.

    Difference In Practices

I find the differences very odd as well. I have been reading about this surgery for 6 months and have never come across anyone who has to prep themselves for surgery before leaving home as I do. Take a shower and then wait at least an hour until you are absolutely completely dry and then wipe your entire body, front and back, down with 2% Chlorhexidrine Gluconate cloths. Then wait 5 min. for that to dry before getting dressed. I was given two packages of them at my pre -admission appointment yesterday. Weird.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I'm going to the hospital today for pre-admission testing. I can't wait to be on the other side sitting on the loser's bench!
  6. May I ask how much it cost and did insurance pay any part?

Anyone Else Have Trouble With Pre Op Diet?

I am on day 5 of liquids and my stomach is growling so loud it is hard to concentrate on anything. Every time my son comes in the kitchen to make himself a meal I scowl (jokingly) at him and say "are you eating again, while your poor old mother sits here and starves?" I'm not eating any pudding, Jello, or popsicles because I just don't like them. Just Protein shakes and broth.

    Aarp Medicare Complete (***)

Have you tried checking their website? That is how I found out what my insurance required. I logged into the site and checked the section for providers and found it there.
  9. I know, I'm an idiot, but I cannot figure out how you update the data in your ticker. Anyone?

    I Need Help!

Those Isopure Zero Carb drinks with 40g of Protein are a lifesaver for me. I gag when drinking those shake-like things.

    No Scrpit : (

I'm sure they can give you something at the hospital.

    No Scrpit : (

I never heard of it. What's it for?
  13. I feel ya...I get 4-5 shakes, Jello, popsicles, pudding, broth and vanilla Greek yogurt. I am sick of the cloyingly sweet shakes and all the other sweet stuff. It said I could have tomato broth, which I have never seen, so I mixed 1/2 tomato Soup with 1/2 chicken broth and that isn't bad. I cheated yesterday by eating a stalk of steamed broccoli.

    Minimize The Jiggle

I don't know about compression garments, but that facebook post requires payback, big time!
  15. Not pathetic at all. I really hope you figure something out.
  16. My date is 12/17. I will be heading out for my preop appt. with my surgeon in about an hour. Guess I will soon find out when my all liquid diet will start.
  17. I quit 13 years ago when I had a cervical spine discectomy with fusion and cadaver bone transplant. Sorry, I feel your pain, but...

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Happy Turkey Day to all the December Sleevers!
  19. As I am not yet sleeved and not having surgery until 12/17, I am having a normal Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey breast with fresh herb butter from my garden under and on top of the skin, stuffing, garlic green Beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce, and apple pie. With only two people eating and making small amounts we should be out of leftovers before I start my pre op diet. Now Christmas dinner will be a whole new deal being only 8 days after surgery.

Mine is 12/17! You should join the December Sleevers Group.
  22. Were these polyps in your upper GI tract? I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy at the same time and they found polyps in my colon which were removed and found to be benign. Because of the polyps I have to get a colonoscopy every 5 years.
