I have the opposite effect, liquid poo. I am on my last day of the 14 day diet and surgery is tomorrow. I am sure I will have the reverse in no time.

I made the mistake of showing my husband a video of the sleeve surgery. Now he is all freaked out and wants me to sign a Medical Power of Attorney and a DNR order. I can understand the MPOA, but a DNR seems ridiculous to me. The back story: Back in 2008 he had a 17 hour, very dangerous, cancer surgery in is head and neck area. At that time he was not expected to live long without the surgery and he signed both of those documents. The surgery he had in no way is comparable to a VSG. On top of that, after 10 years of cancer treatment including radiation to the head and neck, he is having cognitive issues, is hearing and vision impaired, and a host of other issues. I am scared to give him my MPOA for fear of what he would do if something were to happen. My surgery is Tuesday and my son is coming with me because my husband is unable to. Should I just tell him they could not do it because he was not there to sign? I think when he was at MD Anderson in 2008 we both had to sign the forms. ACK

I will be 8 days post op on Christmas so we are just skipping it this year. There are only 3 of us where we live now. Hubby doesn't eat because he is on a feeding tube and Son will be happy with whatever he wants to cook for himself and I will still be on liquids. We haven't even decorated due to the Water leak we had on 11/18 causing over $12,000 in damage. We are putting off the repairs until I heal up some. They are going to have to move most of our stuff out to a POD in the driveway to make the repairs. What a year this is turning out to be!

Here is what my sister, an oncology nurse, said: "DO NOT SIGN A DNR!!! That's crazy. He's probably just over reacting because of his own condition. You'll be fine. Go ahead and do a living will." I would give her my MPOA, but she lives in another state. Fortunately, we will be moving back there this coming Spring.

I should never have showed him that video. I have tried to explain how I feel but he can't quite grasp what I am trying to tell him. To top it off his super good hearing aids are out for repair and he is wearing his old ones which means I have to practically yell to communicate with him.

The pizza is not a big deal for me, but if I would be so sad if I never ate Mexican food again. This is good to hear, thanks!

I ate a steak, sauteed mushrooms, and asparagus with a couple of cookies for dessert the night before my liquid diet started.

If I don't make my own I use Kitchen Basics (in the carton ) and add some onion powder, garlic powder, dried thyme, and rosemary to make it taste better. Sometimes I will add a spoon of Better than Bullion to make it even more chickeny.

If that doesn't work, try Miralax. It is tasteless and you can mix it into just about anything.

That sounds good. Is it in the yogurt case or where refrigerated dips are?

Lots of people have. There is another forum on this site all about cosmetic surgery.

I've only lost 5 lbs. as of this morning, but I am 59 and I lose very slowly. I have been making homemade broth most of the time and drinking Premier Protein and Muscle Milk. Not doing the popsicles. I have a sugar free Dulce de Leche pudding for a snack before bed. I am feeling pretty droopy and have a headache every day.

This is my 9th day on liquids.
