  2. Happy 44th Birthday Ja9!

  3. 4 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 4th Anniversary Ja9!

  4. I was famished my first week post op. My dr put me on mushies and then chicken and fish as tolerated. It got me through the tough times. Tuna and chicken salad are mushies!!

    Diet suggestions

You do need to "challenge' your metabolism. I "overeat" about 3-4 times per week, so as to always keep my metabolism going. This works for me, and is a great excuse to indulge in ice cream!
  6. You can order a soup as an appetizer (I like French onion, and I cut it so the cheese is in small pieces). And for dinner have an appetizer off the menu or a fish or chicken dish. Enjoy! Live! This time will only come once, worse case, you bring home a doggie bag. Now go make reservations!!!

    Any Long Islanders?

They used glue on me-wish it were stitches. The scars are horrible. Now I'll never be able to wear that bikini! PS, I ate (and still do) some of the wrong stuff. I am losing weight slowly, and do not feel deprived. They slow is better, right?
  8. Dr. Colin Brathwaite and Dr. Kazcmarski are at St. Catherine's in Smithtown, NY (Long Island). Has any used them? Please share.

    I Need A Fill!

Yes, it took me two fills before I felt some type of restriction. I am not hungry, although I want to eat-psychologically very hungry, not physically. I do not always eat the right things, but since I am eating so much less of them, I am slowly losing weight. I have ice cream everyday.

    Question on Fills

It took me 2 fills, but others in my support group it took up to 4. Are they sure they are getting the saline in the port?
  15. I know Dr. Colin Brathwaite in Smithtown, NY does the surgery (both) and does accept most insurances including medicare. Hope that helps, good luck. Ja9
