Will I always have to sip?

I had LOTS of trouble with fluid at first after surgery. Now, at 6.5 weeks out I can take 3 drags at once. I was like lots of others that slammed down fluids like nothing lol Every week or so I notice I can take in more fluid. Im sure if you keep at it, it will get better

    Soft Diet

Oh I've tried about 8 different types, but I gave up on them lol I don't have a Costco around me though Burping..yes I've had a lot of it since day one after surgery. My sleeve gurgles and burps ALL the time. Its a little embarrassing, but Im just learning to go with the flow and joke about it. If Im thin and still doing it...Oh well. I'll be the thin girl with the gurgly belly lol

    Soft Diet

Im eating regular foods for the most part. Im allowed everything but ground beef (2 more weeks), and then no nuts, pasta, or rice (until Jan. 4). I tried fresh veggies for the first time this week. I had about 4 strips of green pepper. They were amazing lol Im trying to work a little veggies in at dinner. Since I still struggle some days with getting all my protein, I haven't tried working veggies into all my meals yet. I eat a LOT of eggs and chicken. Occasionally fish sticks (baked) because I get tired of chicken and I don't like other fish. I also tried some really really soft beef jerky yesterday (allowed) I seem to have a sleeve of steel. I haven't had a food make it mad yet lol I am intolerant of protein shakes, so I eat a serving of Roasted Edamame every day (usually breakfast as Im not super hungry most mornings). Im trying to have a boring diet. I think I would do best if I found my routine with food and stuck with the same meals most days. I can also eat toast which is nice (my nuts rule is that I can only eat bread if it had a protein on top of it. No toast with butter or jelly.).

    Rotten breath?

Yeah I hate it I've never had a problem with my breath before. Listerine pocket pack dissolvable strips are my new best friend :/ I hope it isn't permanent.

The times, they are a changin'.....

Oh I feel you on this one tonight. It is the first time I wanted to cry because I couldn't eat 2 tiny pieces of pizza. I wanted to eat the whole damn box. Im very thankful for my sleeve now that time has passed lol But yeah, you have to laugh or you'll cry occasionally ????
  11. Is that a lot. Im not overly full, just my "typical" full. . 3/4c. of creamed potato/ham soup is that too much at 6 weeks post op? It just seemed like a lot when I logged it lol
  12. Thanks I think it's the first time I've had soup since I started eating soft food.

    embarrassed! ha!

My stomach has done it every single time I eat from day 1 of eating purée. Im 6 weeks out. Just this morning I ate some edamame while the TV service guy was at our house. You should have seen the look on his face when my so wonderfully cute -.- sleeve started its gurgling. I just chuckled and shrugged my shoulders and so did the service guy lol Im slowly learning to embrace it lol (...no not around the throat either lol)
  14. I think you should get in with a counselor. He might be able to help you with your mentality toward food (if you are ready to truly change!). The sleeve requires a commitment of eating lots of Protein and vegetables. If you are used to eating badly, I suggest seeing a nutritionist for awhile. If you are committed to the process they can help you find nutritional things you like and can teach you proper portion sizes. I DO understand the doubt before surgery though. For me, it all boiled down to being afraid of failing. I didn't really focus on missing food, but I did focus on "I have been fat my whole life, I don't think I can be thin. I'll always binge on food, I don't know how NOT to." But, I realized FOR ME I was trying to self sabotage. I don't know what it will be like to be thin, but Im 6 weeks post op, and LOVING my sleeve Only you can know whether you are truly prepared for this journey. Best of luck to you
  15. My NUT had me on a 1200 cal. diet with basically a diabetic diet for 8 weeks prior to surgery. I also had to start no drinking while eating. Soooo glad I did that, because its quite an adjustment in my opinion. (I used to guzzle down 2-3 diet comes and a glass of water at dinner each night back before I gave up pop.) Also- Confession...I had a shot of Gentleman Jack this weekend. I think that is what caused me to crave doughnuts and ended up caving a day later and ate 4 Nickles donut fair doughnuts :/ I felt like total crap afterward too (though not after drinking lol).
  16. I had nausea and diarrhea for 5 weeks. It was difficult to get fluids in. I did manage to squeak in enough to keep myself out of the hospital though I also was vomiting badly from pain meds in hospital. Once they got me off those though, no vomiting. Im 6 weeks post op and down 28lbs. since surgery. Im down 40lbs. since I joined the program Im starting to feel better finally. Went back to work part time this week, and start full time Monday

    Regular food...

Just got back from my 6 week follow up. Im cleared for most normal food. No bread for another month (unless toasted), and no pasta, nuts, or rice until 4 mos. Other than that I can try anything.

When can I eat cold cereal again?!

My NUT doesn't want me eating cereal with milk. I can eat it dry or in yogurt. Im 6 weeks out, and this afternoon I had a serving of Special K protein as a snack. It is a nice crunchy snack for me
  25. I have never had a reaction to adhesives before, but developed huge hives around each incision site. They had used Dermabond (I believe) They got bigger over the course of 3-4 weeks, but they also faded. I took liquid Benadryl and also put cortisone cream over it. It helped take the itch away. Hope it stops for you soon.
