  1. 7 weeks post op. I've been doing great with food. Then, 3 days ago I got really nauseated after I ate only 2 bites at breakfast and lunch. I brushed it off as maybe getting sick. Yesterday, same thing happened. Today I managed to get down 1/2 an Egg white delight from McDonalds and didn't feel nauseated, but then same thing as before at lunch and an attempted snack. I have ZERO hunger. I am forcing myself to try eating, but I have a hard time mentally even facing a plate of food. I think (due to the fact I got breakfast down ok) that it might be mental, and not stricture? I don't think Im sick now, because I felt awesome today. I don't understand how I can get less than 500 calories in 2 data, but had one of the most amazing swims in at least 5 years (swam for over an hour). What the heck is going on?!

    Halloween

I learned last weekend I can no longer have candy. I told myself I could have 1 piece. The next day I ate about 7 Reese's Cups throughout the day Candy is something I am going to have just ban! I think I'll be fine as when I do indulge I prefer a pastry of some sort lol
  5. My diet DOES allow alcohol at 6 weeks, but nothing carbonated for another month.
  6. I had 3/4 shot of Gentleman Jack Daniels mixed with about an oz. of water last weekend (6 weeks postoperative). Be careful! It hits hard and fast. I think if I had another I would have been totally trashed for awhile. Have fun at the wedding. I suggest sampling a small drink or 2 tonight so you know how your body reacts. Im not one for trying new things in public though.

Zomg! Why didnt you guys tell me about thi?s?

Until last year, I got held up by at least 3 tractors on my commute daily lol My high school even had a tractor day, and all the seniors would drive their parents tractor to school...You'll have that in Ohio lol We only go to tractor supply to get my husbands work boots.

Bacon jerky is fantastic! Wild Bill also has bacon jerky. We get ours at Tractor Supply Co.

    No ice cream?

Ask your nut or surgeon about no sugar added fudge pops. My NUT had me on those pretty early out, and they curbed any temptations I may have had As far as full fledged ice cream?! No I wouldn't try yet. I have had some sugar free vanilla ice cream a couple nights...mainly due to hormones. If your NUT clears you for those, you could also try the frozen Greek yogurt. 1/2c. is 4g. of Protein. Not a lot, but better than the ice cream. I can't stand the regular stuff, but the frozen kind isn't too bad. Best of luck and try hard to stick to your program. Your sleeve will thank you soon enough!

    Thunder thigh exercises

Try swimming! It is a great workout cardio wise, helps build lean muscles, and will definitely tone thighs and butt. I wear a swim dress and have no issues with confidence that way.

    November fitness challenge

Hi Im Jaime Im 7 weeks post op and was finally cleared for cardio workouts. I <3 to swim! I have gotten intensely into swimming Pre sleeve (even at 335lbs!) but have never ever set a goal (afraid of failure?). Im ready to set my first fitness goal! Actually Im setting 2 goals lol My 1st. goal is to be able to swim 2 miles in one session by the end of the month. (Swam this morning and did just over a mile.) My second goal to get my rear to the pool by 7am 4 days a week. Ready, Set, Swim
  12. Thanks all for the feedback! I appreciate hearing from all sides of the adoption process! A therapist may be a good idea. I think I shouldn't rush this, and make sure Im good and ready for anything. I don't hold anger toward my birth mom. I was told about her circumstances when she got pregnant. Im just happy she gave me life! Anyway, Im going to look into a therapist before I continue my search
  13. So, I was adopted when I was only 3 days old. I have always been curious about my birth parents however. Until recently I never thought about actually trying to meet my birth mom because I was so conscious about my weight. But now....Im really thinking about seriously trying to find her. Has any post sleevers found long list family after weight loss? My concern is whether this search would bring up some crazy feelings. I wouldn't want to set myself back emotionally because of possible rejection, anticipation, nerves etc. Anyway, I thought I would throw this out and see if anyone has gone down this path, and the outcome.

    Angry and a fiend

Im mad as a dang hatter right now and frustrated beyond belief. I don't think I've gotten in a fight with my husband since way before the surgery. Well, today s*** hit the fan awhile ago and I don't even know what to do. Pre surgery I would have smoked like a pack of cigarettes in between oatmeal cream pies (well...you get the picture). I want a cigarette so BAD!! I don't know how to deal with these emotions without a crutch! Im sitting here and angry sobbing mess, and my rock through all of this is as mad at me as I am at him. End rant

  16. At 7 weeks post op my NUT wants me between 600-900 calories a day. Sounds like you are doing good though
  17. I'm not QUITE free, but Im getting so close! Im still having occasional cravings, and have given in at times. The huge difference for me, eating has become a chore mostly. Im not excited to eat like I was Pre surgery. I don't go to bed thinking about what I'll eat for Breakfast tomorrow. I have absolutely NO problem in stopping when I feel that satisfied feeling. Even if I didn't get to whatever starch/carb on my plate, it can sit there untouched. My family went out to eat recently. The husband and son got an appetizer, salads, plus their meals. I took one bite if the cheese stick and realized I did it out of habit, not hunger. I immediately gave the stick to my son. I sat there and looked at all the food and laughed at how I used to think that table full of food was great. Now, it almost turns my stomach. Im loving my restrictive sleeve
  18. Well sounds like you are still very early out from surgery? I suggest enjoying the day without going out? (Because I remember wearing the baggy clothes and NOT feeling like seeing sunlight for awhile lol.) Anyways, try and think of a fun thing to do (that doesn't involve eating) as soon as you are feeling up to it (go bowling with some friends, find a little trip you can take that you've always meant to visit, go to the mall and check out some smaller sized outfits) or start planning a vacation for when you've lost all your weight or spend the day making a bucket list. Happy Birthday and consider your sleeve the best present you could have given yourself
  19. I dropped about 60lbs. (Pre sleeve) a few years back. I ended up with gall stones. The Dr. said its very normal for that to happen after rapid weight loss. Anyway, ask your surgeon about putting you on an RX to help your gallbladder out for after surgery. I don't remember the name of the med. because I don't have my gallbladder anymore lol (BTW, I have had a lot of surgeries...Gallbladder removal was the easiest for me).

    6 Month Pre-Diet?

My NUT had me do the 1200 calorie diet as well (she said that is about how much you'll eat in maintenance, maybe a smudge more). Did she have you use the plate method? 1/2 plate is veggies, 1/4 protein, 1/4 starch. Im not to use a big dinner plate either. Make sure to get used to eating all your protein first, then veggies, then starch. My NUT also gave me a week "crash course post op diet." I did 3 days of liquids, 2 days purée, and 2 days soft foods. Just to get an idea of what things are like immediately after surgery. I dropped 10 lbs that week! (Hunger wise it was harder Pre op, because post op I just wanted to feel better. I didn't care about food for the first time ever lol). Also, try taking up walking. You will be encouraged to walk as much as possible post up, so that could help you now drop a few more lbs. Best of luck!

    Angry and a fiend

Thank you all for the support. I went on a short walk and then hubs and I worked through things. I didn't smoke or eat once. And yes, Im only 6.5 weeks post op.
