I have no clue what mine is...I really don't care either lol

Misty, your post...so much like my eating habits. My reasons were not from abuse per say, but abandonment issues. I was adopted, then parents got a divorce when I was 3. I still saw my dad, but once I hit puberty...he pretty much started focusing his attention on my brothers. I also had a very hard time with teasing as a child. I was the fat girl target by about 6 boys in school, and I was teased and harassed by them daily. It really did a number on my emotionally, and I still have trust issues with men. In my mind they are always setting me up to hurt me. How I ended up getting married is beyond me. As for the food hiding...I want to cry every time I get in my car now. I am 10 weeks post op, and have yet to clean my car out from all the food wrappers/containers. I know it is going to be emotional when I see all that I ate and hid in there. I was the person that would go to McDonalds and get a value meal large sized and chicken nuggets, then go to Burger King and get 2 slices of Hershey's pie. Or I would go grocery shopping and on my 15 minute drive home I'd stuff away 2-3 doughnuts, a .99 bag of chips, smoke a cigarette and then eat dinner with the family 1/2 hour later without even blinking. It breaks my heart to look back at my coping skills and for how long they carried on. I know soon Im going to be faced with having to clean out my car, and I know it's going to be hard. I just hope Im fully ready emotionally. Thanks Misty for your post..It really helped me today. Maybe Im closer to cleaning up my old habits than I think.

I drank at 6 weeks out and was fine. The first time I drank it hit me hard. We went on a mini vacation last weekend (9.5 weeks post op) and I had 2 mixed drinks and sipped my husbands drink a little over the course of 4 hours. I felt a little tipsy, but not hammered or anything like that.

I'll PM you my address for my reading fee haha This site really does help you work through some amazing things though doesn't it? Im such an enabler to myself it is awful. I think I could justify eating an entire pizza to myself an hour after Thanksgiving dinner if I wanted to. Well...no I couldn't anymore. Pre sleeve...absofuckinglutely. Now...My hungry brain answers to my bitchy logical brain...It was weird how that logical part got so loud after surgery though...Sure my hungry side still shouts out like a child in a toy aisle when I pass by McDonalds or sees a doughnut. But...It doesn't throw a temper tantrum. It shouts once, my bitchy side laughs and that's the end of the episode mostly. My "big closet" is our huge shower. Although, I've never been in good enough shape to clean it even close to all the way. We have really hard water, so I have to use harsh chemicals to get it to look good. Well.. a fat chick + slight asthma + smelly chemicals + a huge shower + intense scrubbing = disturbing to say the least lol I think after Thanksgiving Im going to tackle that damned shower once and for all. It will be an early Christmas present to myself. A shower that is clean and sparkly lol

Ideas For Pre-Op Diet... Please Help!
jdmama911 replied to MsDallasSleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will warn you...your taste buds may change after surgery. Mine did, and I ended up wasting a ton of $$ because I bought all these protein shakes, powders and I couldn't stand them after surgery. Just a warning, so you don't end up wasting $$ like I did :/ -
I was sleeved 9/11. I still struggle most days with getting in my fluids. I just take it hour by hour. I can take bigger drinks now (actually can take 3-4 chugs), but I just am so full from eating or Im so busy I forget to drink. I loved drinking water before surgery, and I really hope this will work itself out eventually. Just keep drinking as much as you can and don't let yourself get dehydrated. If you do, own up and tell your dr. From what I hear, getting IV fluids can really help you feel better if you fall behind.

Thank you! This is my 4th time having kidney stones in the last 7 years. They are awful lol Thank goodness I'm able to continue working at this point and stay off the pain meds during the day. I haven't heard that about Gatorade before. Coincidentally though, I've been drinking quite a bit of G2 the last week due to me still struggling to get all my fluids in. :/ I'll bounce back soon hopefully lol

Why The Sleeve Over Bypass
jdmama911 replied to follmerpa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I opted for the sleeve because I didn't want to worry about malabsorption of nutrients. My mom had RNY and she doesn't absorb Vitamins. She also eats such a tiny amount, and I thought it would be an easier switch in my position if I could eat a little more normal than an RNYer. My surgeon suggested from the beginning that I get the sleeve, and I figured he knows best lol I hope you find your answer -
Well I haven't checked in because I just found the new app. I kept trying to log into the old one lol. I failed my goals this month due to very painful kidney stones. I've been in pain for weeks now :/ Darn things just won't pass. I'll try again after I get these awful things out lol

Yay, I fought my sleepiness and got to the gym for day 3 this week. I didn't even attempt 45 laps today as Im extremely sore from changing up my normal workout. I did however work on my stroke, and even did a couple laps of dolphin kicks. Im sure I looked ridiculous...but oh well! One day I'll be able to do the beautiful butterfly stroke again I can already see attaining 2 miles by the end of the month not working. But, Im ok with that as long as I get my butt to the gym and workout to the best of my ability..be it pool or in the gym. I hope everyone has a good workout today Ready.Set.Swim

When do the mood swings go away?
jdmama911 replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I snapped at the hubs a few times, but Im feeling normal at the moment. My mood swings don't seem to last long, they are just sudden and a little......extreme shall we say? Im hoping the rest of the week goes fast. We are going to Erie PA this weekend for a mini vacation. I think we all need it lol Glad you're feeling somewhat human again Maybe by tomorrow night you can feel almost human, and by the weekend feel totally human lol -
Semi-serious question about eating and drinking at the same time...
jdmama911 replied to LipstickLady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My NUT agrees with your body, no cereal or soup. I asked my NUT why chili was allowed then...she had no answer lol Chili sits well in my belly though. I tried a couple bites of Cheerios with milk and felt sick as a dog. If I want cereal..I stick with dry only (for now only Special K protein). Sorry your nut allows it but not your body -
When do the mood swings go away?
jdmama911 replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im feeling you on the mood swings. Everything was fine and dandy yesterday and then out of nowhere this psychotic woman was screaming at my son for a not very good reason. Today I should be happy about my gym success, and instead Im sitting here (waiting for my son to finish playing bball with his friend) and I feel like breaking down and crying over the guilt of not getting my son more active before now (even though he has always been in a sport or swim lessons...I never brought him to the Y on a regular basis, I didn't play enough catch or run enough with him). Im being a complete Debbie downer :/ Im hoping when I get home and get a shower, dinner, and some cuddle time with the hubs I'll feel better. I have battled with depression on and off my entire life, but still can't bring myself to take the Zoloft or Wellbutrin due to side effects. Im hoping I can pull myself out soon before I get too deep. I hope happy days are ahead for you gamer ::hugs:: -

I need advice!! Im going into the gym (first timer) to try the recumbent bike. How many miles should I shoot for first time? Im planning on going in about 20 minutes. Is 10 miles a good starting point? Or should I go higher? What about resistance settings, mph? Anything a newbie should know before walking into the gym?

Disappointed I can't make it the gym this morning. I had to take my SIL to the ER last night (she is fine). I didn't get to bed until 2am. I thought maybe I would be ok, but after getting my son ready for the bus...I need a few more hours of sleep before work lol If I don't get them...My patients may not want to be around me today lol Ok, gn zZzZz
