What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
Ak47mom replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Can always find something n the appetizer menu, but I still get sad about not being able to sip a good glass of wine AND eat dinner. We eat out a lot less and invite friends in a lot more since surgery because I can sip wine and no one notices that I have not eaten because I just put appetizers out on the counter and everyone , except me, grazes.... I am not heavy drinker, but at the end of the week, I like a good glass of wine with friends. -
I was terrified. But I had full confidence that I was in great hands and I was sure to educate myself on how to manage the first month which sets the benchmark for your food and exercise discipline for the rest of your life. Count your blessings that you are able to do this and move on to your new life. Say your prayers and be thankful for this new journey. Cheers....

Ak47mom replied to Wendi Garcia's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sugar free Popsicles, MyWeight Protein Fortified tomato soup was a lifesaver the first week, doctors sell it and it can be ordered online, it's also good as a great pick me up after your first week. -
Bruised Belly Button
Ak47mom replied to megandearcos's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 weeks post op and still have very sore belly button, slight redness, and it has a little drainage. Doctor gave me bacitracin antibiotic by mouth to be sure no infection and said it has t run its course. It's been the hardest part to get over. Glad to know I am not alone, , hope you get better. Wear loose pants and keep area clean. -
You seem to be a mirror image of what I am going through during my journey. I too am having trouble with the belly button incision area the most. And, my food journaling is at the same rat as yours, thank you for posting. I am a blogging virgin, but desperate to be assured I am not alone in this process. I have been the same weight since my third child was born 13 years ago, 200 lbs. Have tried everything. I know this is life changing and we can do it!

Baked sweet potato is a good addition to the yogurts, I also keep up with protein drinks during this phase. But I am getting bored also.
