6 Month Post Surgery Question
shaza1963 replied to lisi287's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing good. I am at 7 months and have "only" lost 46 lbs (yay!) I just came out of a 3 month stall. Talk about feeling like a failure. I tried everything to break that stall. My doctor said it was my bodies way of adjusting. Down 4 lbs in 2 weeks. It is hard but you can get through this. -
Yay! month stall has finally broke. 4 lbs lost this week. I weigh 172 lbs and am officially overweight. I was beginning to feel like a failure.

You look awesome! -
First my NSV. After 20 years I can finally wear my "official" wedding ring. I was so excited I almost cried. I had to take a picture an text it to my husband. Yay! Also the same day my daughter decided to show me how far I have come. I haven't list any weight in 2 months (ever since the doctor started messing with my synthroid) and I was saying that I don't feel like I look that different. She had to prove me wrong and made a side by side photo. I have never been so excited to be proven wrong. In the first I was at my highest weight of 248 and the second is at my current weight of 177.

The Big Book on Bariatric Surgery: Living Your Best Life After Weight Loss Surgery has arrived!
shaza1963 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just bought it and I can't wait to read it. I am going to make my husband read it as well. He has been hindering more than helping for the past few months. Thank you Alex for this site and these books. -
Sick to my Stomach.. Normal?
shaza1963 replied to NavyMom6's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I could not drink plain water for a long time. It occasionally makes me nauseous to this day and I am almost 6months out. Warm herbal tea and crystal light were/are my go to drinks. This is normal. It will get better. -
Madame you were sorely missed. Glad you had a great vacation. You look wonderful.

2 of my co-workers had surgery with him and they like him. They have not had any problems. -
Congratulations on your NSV. So, what was in that shrimp salad.

Hampton here.

So glad your home. I have been thinking if you. You are an inspiration to us all.

Your not alone. I haven't lost any weight in 6 weeks. And my hunger is forming back . And now that my husband (a school teacher) is off for the next two months it is going yo be very hard.
-
I'm am oncology nurse and there is slot of heavy lifting, so my Dr gave me 6 weeks off. I'm so glad he did. It is so hard to get my fluids in on the days I work, so I try to get as much hydration in my days off. Take as much time as you can.

Yesterday my husband had enough. He couldn't stand seeing me in my baggy yoga pants anymore (so he said), so he took me shopping. I started to pick out size 16, while HW picked out 12's. I said no way am I a 12, he insisted I try them on. OMG a size 12 jean and they fit. They actually buttoned! And to top it all off he had picked out skinny jeans. Me in skinny jeans! If you had told me this 4 months ago I would have laughed and called you crazy. So of course he bought them for me. After a few rocky months, I can honestly say I love my sleeve.

medical bracelets for Sleevers?
shaza1963 replied to skinnygirlwithin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had been planning on doing this for some allergies, but didn't like the styles. Now I have a cute bracelet with all of my "important" information. Thank you for the link. -
Ok start out I wave sleeved 3 months ago and the first 7 weeks were great. I had some pain for the first week but it was controllable. I had no problems advancing my diet as directed. I felt great. Then 5 weeks ago I started with my first bout of nausea and vomiting. Lost a couple of days of work. Then it happened again. And again. I am now on my fourth time of this happening. This time I ended up in the ER for dehydration. I made appoint of going to the hospital that I had my surgery at and the ER Dr had one of the surgeons come and examine me. They didn't find anything, but sent me home with zofran (life and sanity saver). I have an appointment with my surgeon tomorrow. I am just feeling sorry for myself because i wanted this to be healthier and at the moment i am worse off than before the surgery. I am confident that things are going to get better. I have always been a glass half full kind of person, but feeling like crap all of the time and the fear of loosing my job because of this is getting me down.

Thanks to all that have replied. I saw my surgeon yesterday and he believes that it is an intolerance to the protein shakes combined with not being able to drink while at work. I am an RN so I am lucky if I get on bottle of water in let alone anything else. We are not allowed to have any drinks on the floor and the break room is at the other end of the hall, so that is not an option most times. I am going yo hydrate as much as possible on my days off, hoping that will offset my work days. My Dr made another appointment for next week just to see how I am doing. So this weekend is drink, drink, drink.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I am trying to stay positive. Just hoping to feel better quickly.

It's a good thing I am nauseous from a stomach virus or I would be ordering a ham and pineapple pizza right now.

let's talk gallbladders
shaza1963 replied to ShrinkyDinkMe22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get it out. I was having pain on my right side for 4 days that had started out mild but got progressively worse. By the time I went to the ER my gallbladder had ruptured. The Dr said if I had waited any longer I would have died. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks. That tiny little organ is not worth your life. -
7 weeks out. HW 241 SW 216 CW 193 Doing good only thing sleevzilla hates so far is Girl Scout Cookies (2). Not upset about that at all.

Thank you Alex. Because of some of the negative replies that people get I will not pose any questions on this board. I feel bad enough about myself and don't need anyone else to make me feel worse. What I will do is read others posts and give positive feedback. I love this diet and it gas kept me sane throughout this process. As my mum used to say " if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." -
