  1. I am one year out and have been noticing more and more saggy skin (which is a neccisary evil) I am wanting to find out from people out there what are some good or bad body suits or gurdils to use. I have bought a spanks thing before but they are pricey, any reccommendations would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

  5. That's awesome!! Where did you have yours done at?
  6. I'm doing the pre op diet and have to say it's really hard, I've cheated a few times but now that it's getting close I can't do anything else stupid just for satisfaction of junk food. Surgery date is dec. 4th. So it's getting close I'm getting more and more nervous/excited as the time goes by. One of the best advise I was given was to forget about the expensive protein shakes the doctors try and promote (bariatric advantage) Get Premier Protein. It has 30 grams of Protein per Shake low calories and sugar. And they don't taste bad at all. Flavors are chocolate, vanilla, strawberries and cream. I get them at SAMs club! $18 for a 12 pack. But there are other places you can by them. Www.Premiernutrition.com. Also it's an distort to stay on top of your vitamins make sure you take them, you don't want to risk sickness and loss of hair. Take one day at a time otherwise you can overwhelm yourself like I have.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I'm new to this blog. I am finally going to be getting the surgery. The paperwork too so long and now I got my approval from the insurance and on Monday I go in and neet eith the surgeon again. Then Wednesday I meet fir pre-op stuff and start my 2 week liquid diet. Boy idk if I can do 2 weeks on straight liquids. Scared of failure but excited for the start of a new life. I'm 31 yrs old weight as of last week was 317 (biggest yet) I can't wait to back down to 150-160ish. I'm so glad there is a support group of people going through the same thing. I've never had surgery before and so scared something bad is going to happen. Oh ya my surgery date is December 4th 2013. I wish everyone the best of luck in there journey :-)
  13. Ok I don't know why the doctors assistant even submitted stuff into he insurance company without even having all the information she knows was required. Like 5 year history of weight issues. Got the denial letter in the mail yesterday. Frustrated cuz I just want to move on to the next step of this journey.
  14. So I'm sitting here waiting on medical records to be sent to my surgeon. Its been 3 weeks and they said they only have 1 of 3 back. Although I've called my other 2 prior doctors and both have said things were faxed. Irritated due to the fact I want this scheduled before the end of the year but with my luck it won't happen. Still have to see what my insurance (united health care) requires me to do to get approved. I don't really know what all I have to do yet to actually have a date scheduled havecto wait and see what he insurance people say if I can ever get the docs to send the paper work. Im almost tempted to go pay for copies of my medical records and hand deliver them to the surgeon. I want to get the show on the road to recovery and skinny new me. Ok I may be venting a little, how long has it taken you to get aprroved?

    cravings....

I'm pre op and wonderig how post op people are dealing with the cravings? Also I can't stand the taste of artifical sweeteners am I totaled screwed on every tasting sugar again?
  16. Well that's a given not to try and get preg. The first year of having surgery just wanted to hear from people that have wls and pregnancy after wards
  17. I am a 31 yr old female trying to decide on weither or not to have the gastric sleeve procedure done. My regular doctor said im pretty much healthy besides the high blood pressure and polysistic overy syndrome. Im at 307 lbs (bmi 47) the heaviest I've ever been. I've heard that if you are 125 lbs over weight that this isn't for you. My ideal weight would be 150-175. I also would like to increase my chances of conceiving a child naturally because the biological clock is ticking. I have been doing dieting or healthy lifestyle but always seem to gain the weight back. My friends say I just need to get back in the gym but I'm afraid of not losing the weight and not be able to conceive a child with my husband. Please me for all of you that have gone through the procedure.
  18. So what if I decide to have the surgery and lets say I get pregnant what about the nutrition the baby needs since I can't eat like a normal person and the lack of vitamins there a higher risk of complications with the pregnancy?
  19. Thank you guys I'm still deciding but I think I'm leaning towards doing it. Why keep wasiting time when I could've had it done already.
