WHEN YOU LOOSE THE BAR OF SOAP IN THE SHOWER. WHEN YOU CAN USE YOUR STOMACH AS A TV TRAY! WHEN YOU CANT CLIP THE SEAT BELT IN YOUR CAR ANYMORE. WHEN HAVING SEX, YOUR HUSBAND HAS TO "TEETER TOTTER" OVER YOUR BELLY. WHEN GOING TO THE BATHROOM MAKES YOU BREAK OUT IN A FULL SWEAT! WHEN YOU CAN'T REACH ALL YOUR BODY PARTS TO WASH THEM IN THE SHOWER. WHEN YOU PASS "GAS" AND IT DOES NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO. OK, LETS HERE FROM ALL OF YOU............

hi Estela: I took your advice on Dr. Eddie Gomez, and I have my first fill appointment scheduled with him on Wednesday 6-8-05. I live in Central Florida, and I suspect it will be about a 4 hour drive. I had no trouble getting in with him at all, and received an appointment right away. I received my band in Mexico with dr ortiz (which I love) on 3-23-05, but i am happy not to have to travel so far for my fills now. I still may go back to mexico every once in a while to visit Dr. Ortiz. They all were so great out there, and I do not regret having my band at all. I will let you know how it goes. By the way, i noticed that you had two fills quite close together, may i ask why, or what happened.

I received my band March 23, and My doctor had no problem even though my levels were not total in check yet. Now that I have my band things are getting much better and my levels are almost normal. I take synthroid every day.

HELLO EVERYONE! IM HOME, AND I AM BANDED!!!!!! EVERYTHING FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. THE DOCTORS AND STAFF WERE WONDERFUL, THE HOTEL WAS BEAUTIFUL, AND THE SCENERY WAS SPECTACULAR! I WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH DOCTOR ORTIZ AND DOCTOR MARTINEZ. THEY ARE VERY SKILLED AND HAVE EXCELLENT BEDSIDE MANNER. THEY REALLY TRULY LOVE WHAT THEY DO, AND LOVE WATCHING THEIR WORK CHANGE AND TRANSFORM PEOPLES LIVES. MRS. ORTIZ WAS A REAL JEWEL, AND THE HOSPITAL STAFF WAS VERY NICE. I AM A LITTLE SORE, BUT I AM DOING WELL. THE ONLY BAD THING WAS THAT I CAUGHT A COLD AND I AM TRYING TO FIGHT OFF THIS COLD NOW. (I THINK jENNA GAVE ME HER COLD!) HAHA. jENNA AND I ARE NOW LAPBAND SISTERS, SINCE WE WENT THROUGH EVERYTHING TOGETHER. THIS liquid STAGE DOES SUCK! BUT I FEEL FULL, BUT MIND IS STILL HAVING MENTAL HUNGER PAINS. ITS NOT TO BAD HOWEVER. THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT. I VIDEO TAPED EVERYTHING, I HAD OTHERS VIDEO TAPE WHEN I WAS UNABLE, AND EVEN Dr. Ortiz ARRANGED, AND HAD MY SURGERY VIDEO TAPED. IT IS VERY COOL TO WATCH. MY GOAL IS THAT I WILL CONTINUE TO VIDEO DOCUMENT MY WEIGHT LOSS, AND PUT TOGETHER A DVD TO SHARE WITH OTHERS.

I would not change anything about my surgeon, he was absolutely wonderful. But I do wish that he was closer to me.

Thanks everyone. I am so sorry that I was so sniffly and having a pitty party yesterday. I normally am so positive about the things that life can throw at me. I will get better I am probably just being hormonal. Thanks Jenna, and I am so sorry I have not been able to call you back, but I am doing better, and my band is awesome.

I just recently (only 10 days ago) had my lap band surgery in Mexico with Dr. Ortiz. My experince far exceeded all my expectations. I was so impressed with all the care I received. I am a Licensed Nurse by profession and I have never received better care EVER, than what I received in Mexico. I did alot of research of the surgeons before I chose Dr. Ortiz in Mexico. If you have done your research and you feel totoally confortable with your choice, then don't worry about what others say to you. It is very common to get a "shocked" or negative reaction from people. I believe that most of these people only react out of things that they have heard or because they saw something on some movie. They have a lack of education, and do not know all the facts. If you are sure of your choice then dont ask their opinion, just TELL them what you are doing, and why. Don't allow negative feedback to effect you, because if you allow it, it will. I know that I made the best choice of my life. I wish you all the best of luck, but I know that you wont need it!

Hello everyone!!!!! I am feeling so much better, and my cold is starting to go away...yeppiiii!!!! I cannot believe it!!!!! but I have actually crossed back over into the 2 hundreds!!!!!!!!! I weigned in at 298 this morning!!!!!!!!! and just one month ago I was 322. I lost 10 lbs before surgery. And now I am only post-op 9 days and I have lost another 14 lbs WOW!!!! I am really not hungry at all, and i think this is just so amazing!!!! I drink alot of fluids, and I have jello, broth, juices, and just have started having nonfat yogurt. I have about 4-6 oz of jello or yogurt and I am so stuffed that I feel like I have pigged out at a buffet!!! This band is awesome!!!!!!! I am even starting to have a little more energy. I can feel my body changing everyday, and this makes me so happy. Now if all the other stress in my life would just calm down. I have been staying at my fathers home since I have been back for two reasons: one, my house has severe water damamge from a recent storm and my weakened roof (from the '04 hurricanes) has begun to leak very bad. now all these companies are going to rip out walls, ceilings, carpets, cabinets etc... and I am still waiting to find out if my insurance is going to pay for a new roof or not. second, my father's health is not good at all, and he could possibly have a massive stroke at any time. I am trying to be there for my father and help him around his home, trying to find something that can help him medically, and still trying to grip the fact that I may loose my daddy anytime. He is like a walking time bomb medically, and i am scared to death. Sorry to blabber on......I just have so much going on besides my own lapband recovery. But I am very blessed and God will take care of things, I'm sure. I really appreciate everyones friendship. You all mean so much to me.

Hello everyone! Well, I did it! I have a surgery date. It is going to be March 23, 2005. I already got my airline ticket paid for, and I'm all set. Now, I have to fill out all there required health and medical forms, and talk with the nutritionist, and the surgeon on the phone. They want me to loose 10-15 lbs before I arrive. This does have me worried. If I could just loose that much in 3 weeks, I think I would'nt even need the surgery. haha.... But the nutritionist is suppose to call me, and I was told that she is really good, and she has all kinds of ways to get the weight off. Apparently, the surgeon would prefer that anyone over 300 lbs try to loose a little bit, in order to reduce the size of the liver. I guess us people over 300 lbs have extra fat in our liver, which can put us at greater risk. Well, I will give my best shot. I am very excited however!!! I decided to go back to Tijuana for my fills and aftercare. If an emergency was to happen, the surgeon has doctors in my area all ready lined up, if need be. So, my journey begins!! I plan on starting a video diary of my weight loss journey. I have already got permission to even have some of the surgery video taped for me. Is'nt that cool! Well, any and all feed back is welcomed.

I have been absolutely starving!! I have been dieting very hard, and intense since March 1st to loose the required weight before surgery. I have lost 12 lbs, but I have been in pure misery. I am feeling better however. Two weeks ago my doctor descovered that my blood test reveiled that I have Hypothyroidism, and that was part of my problem with my weight. He started me on Synthroid (a thyroid hormone medication) and I am starting to feel better and have more energy. The doctor asked me if I still wanted to get the LapBand, and I said "yes". Because I have yoyo dieted and lost and gained hundreds of pounds in my life, and I just want it to be off and stay off. Even if my thyroid gets straightened out with medication, I still feel like I need The band to win my fight with obesity. What do you guys think?

When you have to start using antifungal spray or ointment between the folds. When you cant find scales that go past your weight range. When your stomach is bigger than your boobs! When you are normally shorter than someone, but when you sit next to them you are taller because you have so much ASS cusion!!! When you try to sink in your gut, and nothing really happens! When the fat pad on your pubic area is so big, that it over takes the possibility of ever finding your genitals!!!

Hay everyone, I am so glad to finally see more Florida people posting. The Florida Bash is in Orlando this year, and I believe it is around the end of Sept. or beginning of October. Thanks everyone for all your support. My surgery is in 5 days!!!!!!! Melissa, I am so sorry to hear about your port incision site. Let us know what happens. I would love to chat and even get together with others that live here in Florida. I am in Central Florida, near Winter Haven.

If you are ever in doubt of what to do, then "do nothing" until you are sure. You could get the approval for the surgery, and have your surgery date moved back, even a month or two. This would give you time to find out if you would even be chosen for the show for sure. Also it would give you time to decide if the show is really what you would want to do after you hear all the stipulations and things that you may have to do or not do etc... Also continue to pray and ask God for guidance.

I absolutely LOVE my Magic Bullet. I use it everyday, and I am not even banded yet, but will be very soon!
