Getting my first flat tummy in......EVER!

oo oo I wanna see pics! goodluck!
  2. Anyone else experienced this? I can fly off the handle at the smallest things. I get into arguments. And even if I control myself, I can be bothered by things for days on end. I feel like if only I could I would literally kill someone that tries to get on my nerves on purpose during an argument or whatnot. Its like I have a new mental illness now. To have so little self control, its kind of worrying. Before the surgery I was mostly able to control myself when it came to anger, I have no idea whats going on its like my self control chip fried. Also depression is kinda creeping in now, which ironicly in by itself is kind of depression. Thought if I didn't get it a week after surgery no chance I'd get it a month afterwards. I'm a guy but I think I know what women feel during their period now. Is this normal? It started happening early on after surgery but now it seems to be getting worse.
  3. Oh? Yes I've read this is a thing that happens post op I just wonder how long until it gets better, if it does get better at all..hehe. Hormonal changes? That could be it. I do wonder if this surgery causes any kind of damage to the brain though, is there any research regarding that? And about the coping mechanism - There is some truth to that, but, I'm kind of surprised I don't crave food as much anymore. I mean, I can eat most things , just very small quantities and still enjoy it. So does that count as a loss of coping mechanism? in a way, I am relieved that craving food is not as horrible as I thought it'd be. I only mourn food a bit, but mostly I'm not as sad about at as I thought it'd be. I wonder if theres another issue. My best guess is the hormonal thing, I really hope it passes though.
  4. I'm 30 yearsold aswell. Had my surgery on Sep 16, so about 10 days before you did. If you haven't had a complication now theres very little chance that you will have a serious complication down the road I think. Do you feel bad? Do you find it hard to eat? Why do you think the surgery was a mistake? If you're having emotional stress over the operation I suggest you try and talk to a psychologist perhaps? Do you have access to one?
  5. I'm 1 month post op and can digest chicken. However it seems that 'cooked' chicken is pretty hard to digest and gets me nauseated. I think I need a bit more time to adjust. Chicken patty works alright though. It depends. Basicly if the chicken isn't "hard" it works ok, otherwise it sits inside my stomach like stones
  6. Hey there I'm 3.5 weeks post op and I've noticed a strange reaction I get when I eat anything thats not liquids or full liquids. Even if its a couple of bites - for example chicken patty, potato, yam, cooked carrot and such. A few minutes after eating my nose starts running and I have to blow it even few minutes, coughing out phlem, hiccups, burps, minor difficulty breathing. It almost feels like I'm about to vomit but it doesn't always hurt. Is this a normal reaction to food after sleeve surgery? At first I thought it was because I was eating too much but it happens even with just a couple of bites. Pretty frustrating.
  7. I'm sleeping alot better since I had the surgery (3 weeks ago). And yes I'm breathing alot better during the night!

    Constipation

Heres a little trick you want to try: 1. Prune juice - Get dried prunes, simmer in hot Water, drink the juice. 2. Blended tomato - Blend a full tomato (leave the peel on!) and use it as 'sauce' or just drink it like that.
  9. Goodluck! I was scared shitless on my surgery day and almost walked out aswell. I did post a few videos from the hospital after surgery on my youtube channel, if you want to see what its like you might want to check it out. Its really not that bad. Once I was out of surgery I knew the hardest part was over. Recovery is fast aswell. Now 3 weeks post op I don't even feel like I had surgery (except for eating habits ofcourse). If you have any specific questions feel free to ask me, I will do my best to be truthful and try to ease your anxiety https://www.youtube.com/user/sleevesfox Don't worry! The hardest most nervewrecking part is waiting for surgery

    Hungry

Yes the liquid phase is the worst I'm afraid, but once you get to the full liquids and mushy phase it gets alot better. When are you supposed to switch to that? Second week?
  13. Hey, been trying to research the subject but been getting conflicting messages. The bariatric nutritionist at the hospital told me I should not be taking anything besides multi Vitamins and Calcium because Biotin could be cancerogenic and not safe (Strange I know). On forums and such, I've seen people taking anything between 300mcg and 5000 mcg. Some report side effects and weightgain, others say it works great. Should I be taking this for months before noticing effects? If I had sleeve surgery two weeks ago, is it too late for me to start taking this? What is the recommended dosage? And is it dangerous? Any brands you prefer?
  14. How many days do you think you'd be gone? I don't think there should be any major complication but you can never tell. I think you should perhaps look a bit more into medical care in ecuador perhaps? If they're set to handle VSG problems?
  15. It is a load on the kidneys though isn't it? Considering I already take alot of other vitamins. Before the surgery they did find some protein in my urine, saying the kidneys were starting to get damaged (because of diabetes). mmmm...now I'm a lil worried I may be putting my kidneys through strain.
  16. How urgent is this emergency? I personally wouldn't be traveling abroad unless it was a matter of life and death.
  17. Hey there Since its 1:30am now and I have no access to a doctor, I thought I'd ask here in case anyone is familiar with these symptoms. Today is exactly 2 weeks after I got the sleeve. And the first day I started eating soft solid foods. At first almost puked and felt very nauseated but if I eat very small amounts I'm fine. Heres the odd thing - One of the scars (the biggest, I guess where they took the stomach out) felt a bit 'hard' unlike other days. And later on during the day I noticed it started oozing out blood. The color is not 'normal' blood. It seems more like the color of the drainage tube I had in the hospital 2 weeks ago. Could it be an absess? Maybe something else? The area is a bit uncomfortable with very faint sharp pain from time to time but nothing too major. However its been leaking this blood-liquid thing for a few hours on and off now. Second of all - About an hour ago, I started hiccuping and suddenly had sharp pain in my throat. Got a bit difficult to breath and I started coughing blood for a few minutes. Could feel blood filling my throat and had to cough it out and it kept filling up. Could this be related? I'm not sure. Its gone for now atleast. I think I had the same blood-cough symptom a few months ago before the operation but not entirely sure. Its back now though. I'm not in any major pain or anything though, should I be worried? Anyone else experienced any of these? Thanks
  18. I'm sorry you're having trouble sleeping. Its a bit odd, since in my case atleast, I've been sleeping like a rock. I guess its because I can breath more easily after surgery. My guess is your problem could be due to post-op stress? Do you feel anxious? Scared? Worried? Or is it more of a physical thing like problem breathing at night? Pains? Did you have trouble sleeping before surgery aswell?

    EXTREAMLY ANXIOUS!

Goodluck! I'm now 3 weeks post op and was so scared the day of operation I couldn't sleep at all. Its really not as bad as I thought. Only the first few hours after surgery are 'tough' but you get over it rather quickly. After about a week I didn't even feel like I had an operation. Recovery is rather fast. Its really not that bad!

    My day is almost here!

Goodluck! I was so scared the day of operation I could not sleep at all. But now, almost 3 weeks after surgery, everything is fine. Its really not as bad as we fear. Recovery is really fast (in most cases I think)

  24. Hey there, I have a question regarding weight loss after surgery. It seems like only 2 weeks post-op I stopped losing weight and even gained some. For almost a week now I've been yo-yoing over the same 2-3 pounds up and down and the weight doesn't really come off. Seems to have started after I started eating soft foods. Its so weird, I thought weightloss shouldn't stall so fast after surgery? Also, in total I lost 13 pounds in about 2 and a half weeks, seeing the doctor for a checkup he said I'm not losing enough. How can I not be losing enough and stalling only 2 weeks after surgery? Its not like I'm shoving icecream down my face all day long. Sure, I have sinned once or twice but thats about it. I try to eat mostly soft solids to fill up master and avoid sugary stuff Was 233 pounds the day or surgery and I'm now 220 pounds. Is this supposed to happen? I do walk atleast 20 minutes every day too!
  25. Good chance it was liquids yeh. However, I lost about 13 pounds on the pre-op diet aswell. And yes I always found it very odd that theres such a big difference between post-op diet instructions with different surgeons. I thought there was a much more unified opinion regarding what and how much to eat after this type of surgery.
