  2. I agree with the posts about balance. This is a new lifestyle for me now. I eat healthy the majority of the time. On occasion, I will indulge in something special. Difference post surgery...no binge eating.

    Are We Worth It?

Thanks for your post. I was scheduled for an abdominoplasty, but have decided on the more conservative approach of a panniculectomy. I have extensive scar tissue in my upper abdomen from an old gallbladder surgery. There is an increased risk operating in that area with a full abdominoplasty regarding tissue necrosis, wound vacs etc...just not a chance I am willing to take. My point is, insurance is paying for the procedure. So, I have decided to have a brachioplasty done at the same time. I will be a self-pay for that portion. I feel a lot of guilt over spending that money. Thank you for reminding me that we are worth it after all this hard work. These results will last a lifetime and are life changing:)
  6. Congratulations!! You look super:)

  9. Having surgery changed my life and I am so grateful for my sleeve. But, I do still miss some foods and my diet coke. It's okay to mourn something that gave so much comfort for so many years. I have food issues...I wouldn't have been almost 300lbs and desperate enough for WLS if I didn't. But, a year later I am treating my body kinder. I am learning moderation. I can still have pretty much anything I want. I just want to make better choices now. I also eat my Protein, exercise and drink my Water. On occasion, I will enjoy a taste or two of a dessert or something special. I just don't binge eat anymore.

    Flying fat

Presurgery I flew Spirit. I always paid extra for the "big front seat". I was almost 300lbs and all belly. I did not have to use a seatbelt extender, but it was very close. Hope that helps:)

    confused and lost about panni,

Hi Kyle. I am having mine removed in May. It is being done early, as Jane said, for health reasons. I am not at goal, but close. A second opinion never hurts! Good luck with your decision.

10 months out and stuck in a rut

Hi Melissa, you are not alone!!! I totally lost control over the holidays. I am struggling to get back on track too. Starting slow...committing to at least taking my Vitamins, drinking Water and 2 Protein shakes daily. I am embarrassed this has happened. But this will be a lifelong struggle! We need to forgive ourselves and move forward. Best of luck on your journey:)

    Told my OB/Gyn today

Prior to my surgery, I had my regular check up with my GYN. I let him know about the surgery. He was, by far the most supportive of all the doctors I had told. I will always appreciate his support. Especially because some doctors (including my general practitioner) were not supportive at all. So glad you had a positive reaction! It makes such a difference
