    How to live...

I'm less than 7 months out, and I'm still losing weight and tracking my food and trying to focus on Protein protein protein. But it just dawned on me... What is life like 5 or 6 years post op? Is it still an obsession of "how many protein did I get today?" I guess I'm wondering because I've never eaten like a normal person before, and now I'm pretty obsessed with protein. But is that how it's supposed to be for the rest of my life? I dont know if im explaining clearly enough.... but How does someone eat many years after surgery? (Without getting back into old bad habits of course)

    What's your menu consist of?

I'm also 6 months out. I do try to drink a premier protein shake every day. I also try to make healthy choices but I do admit that that doesn't happen as much as it should. I've been crazy about 100 calorie pretzels lately. Also been eating yogurt, cheese, and crackers. And most of the time, for my meals, I eat a little of what my family's having.

    Do you bruise easily now?

Do any of you exercise? I don't really exercise a lot. And I was just thinking maybe it has to do with muscles?

    Do you bruise easily now?

I was about to post this topic, but decided to do a search first and found this. I know its a year old thread but thought id ask for an update or any advice? i bruise SO EASILY NOW, it's crazy. I currently have at least 4 bruises on each of my legs. One bruise on my arm, one on my shoulder, even one on my chest. I am a bit clumsy sometimes but I've never ever ever had so many bruises for no serious reason. It seriously looks like I'm being abused. I had blood work done a month ago, and everything was fine. Anyone else?

  10. For the first time ever in my life, I put on a pair of dress pants, and they literally floated on me so much I couldn't walk out of the room without them falling down. What an amazing feeling! I think it's today that I finally realized how much I lost! :-)

By the way, you said on Wednesday you were going to see her. How did it go?
  12. I never stopped drinking from straws. Except that post op, I was a bit more careful about swallowing from it with air (which never happened)

    alcohol

My doctor plainly said to avoid it as much as possible. He didn't want to give me a specific "go drink alcohol" permission lol. I started though about 3 months out. But I don't drink often. One drink a month or so. Less sometimes.

    Great MAYO Alternative!

Thank you for sharing!!! Should I look for it at Publix? Or Wal Mart?
  16. It may sound silly, but a very important goal of mine is to be able to wear a bikini with no shame whatsoever. I have lost a lot of weight and I'm rather close to goal, but I found that my weight is no longer my problem to wear a bikini. I worry about my stretch marks and surgery scars. Unlike some people, I don't wear them with pride as a sort of "battle marks"... I wish I did. And my scars are SO there! I just keep wondering if they'll ever fade. I keep feeling like if I do wear a bikini, everyone will look at me and think "look at those stretch marks, she was fatty" or even know that I had surgery because of my scars (no one but my immediate family knows btw). So my point is, I have these voices in my head making me self conscious about this. I was wondering, is anyone wearing bikinis? Being comfortable in them? has anyone's scars faded to a point of not recognizing them? I live in south Florida by the way, lol. So the beach is right there, the pool is 2 mins away, I'm surrounded by Water and friends who want to have fun by the water! Lol.

    What was your breaking point?

Breaking point... Hmmm, I'd say that it would have to be that moment when I thought to myself that I would rather DIE today then keep living the way I was.

    Not Enough Weight Lost?

I'm losing 2 lbs a week. That's 8lbs a month. 37lbs is good! Just keep doing what you're supposed to, and the weight will keep coming off.

First of all, you look great!!!! Secondly, has her sister seen you? Because if not, I'd wait til she does, and shed probably say something about your weight loss in front of her, which would then make her have to acknowledge something! If she then just turns around and changes the subject, then I don't know what to tell you, lol. I wouldn't know what to do then. Probably do confront her, just not on Wednesday.

    Anyone wearing bikinis?

Thanks, I'll try using it. As far as my skin, it is a bit loose in certain areas like the upper arm, close to the armpits. Also, my breasts have shrunk and therefore sag more :-(. And the rest of my body is not very tight but I definitely don't have skin that is loose enough to make me self conscious or in need of more surgery. I think if I start exercising more, I'll be fine.

What happens to the girls ?

Lol, yeah, sad but true. Mine have gone south too. Already looking for a surgeon for a lift. Unfortunately, when they get smaller, the extra skin that was stretched with them doesn't disappear.
