Focusing on my 13 pounds left to lose..
EarthyGoalie replied to Carlotta1's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm happy for you and support you (virtually I guess lol). But in all seriousness, I know how being so close feels!! You're gonna get there!! I have 6 more to reach my goal. The anticipation! Lol. I also vow with you to do all of the above mentioned, especially to drink enough, stop eating before I get too full, and figure out if I'm only having head hunger before eating! -

How do i fix this? :-(

Thank you!!!! -
2 weeks ago, instead of losing weight, I gained a few pounds. But I know how it happened. I basically ate carbs, unhealthy ones too, junk, and forgot about Protein and Water. I beat myself up about it and tried to get back on track.... How do you all gain weight, whenever or if ever you do? Is it the same as me? Or is it because you didn't exercise or simply just didn't have enough protein? Or jut water weight? Because I mean, I REALLY did bad to gain those few pounds. So I guess I'm trying to find out if I'm the only one who has been SO bad since surgery.

I can imagine how frustrating that must have been! At least you're losing now :-) -
Biggest regrets about getting the sleeve?
EarthyGoalie replied to NewSetOfCurves's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes! We are in the same boat! I get dizzy all the time when I stand up too fast. it doesn't last long, but it's still unpleasant. Also, i don't like finishing up my food before everyone else and just waiting on them. It's a bit weird. Lastly, I used to be a person who liked very hot food and ate very quickly. It is SO annoying to me, eating so slowly. Before I'm done, I have to reheat the food at least twice. Ughhh. But needless to say, all of these little details are nothing to me for all the benefit this surgery brought upon my life. So instead of saying "things I regret", I'd rather say "things that are a bit annoying". But no regrets. I love my sleeve and my new life! -
Warning: stupid question
EarthyGoalie replied to sophie'sChoice's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Not a stupid question at all! I asked my doctor the same thing! It has to do with staying full longer, so yes, I still wait. -

I don't recall ever setting bariatricpal as spam... and in case I did, I tried going to my email's settings and added bariatricpal to my safe list. this message still appears anyway, every time I log in :-( -

147 today. Trying to get back on track!

I am 10 lbs from goal, and have done really good since surgery. But lately, since a few days before Easter, I have gone off course, off the wagon. I've been eating starchy foods, low Protein, not drinking enough Water. And every day I wake up saying "this crazy trip is over, I'm gonna go get a protein shake". And then people come over, bring food, I say I'll just have a bite, but then a bite of that starchy food makes me too full to want to consume anything else like PROTEIN. I'm just thinking to myself today that I have come from too far to mess up like this. I've spent too much effort, money, and everything else to just let myself fall off the wagon like this. :-( I'm a recovering food addict, and I must say, it is really sad to realize that once you're an addict, you will always be an addict. You just have to be in control and not let the addiction take over. Once again, today, I will go and eat healthy and good, and more protein. I hope I don't deceive myself again. God give me strength. I guess my honeymoon period is over huh? *sigh*

Thank you!!! Also, I've been thinking... I hear that the last few pounds are usually the hardest to lose. But, is that because your body is getting to a normal weight, or is it because when we get so close to goal, we start being less strict with ourselves?
-
Thank you all. Your advice and support is greatly appreciated. I mean it. It feels so much better too to be able to talk to people who have gone through this surgery. My family just doesn't get it. All they can say is "you don't eat a lot. You're fine!" Though I keep trying to tell them it's more than that. Also, I'm curious too, as Lisa said, what do you eat on a regular week? Do you have mfp?
-
Thank you. My caloric intake was a little above 900 too.

:-( I gained. 150.2 today. Ugh. I deserve it though...

I know how you feel. I struggle with this everyday. I shop for clothes and won't dare look at smalls, when in fact I realize I am a small. But from what I see in this picture, you don't even look like a size 10. I'm a size 10. I would have thought you were a size 6. Honest. And overweight? That is simply nonsense! If you exercise, who cares about a BMI? I know, I care about a BMI, but only because I'm such a specific person who likes to get the numbers and facts right. Ugh. I exhaust myself sometimes. But even then, I always laugh at myself for caring about it. If you are healthy, then you are good! Because you sure look good! :-)

No need for apologies! I'm sure you spend a lot of time on this. Thank you! :-)

Bea, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that you started the spreadsheet with the date "April 28th", whereas it's the 21st. Seems we have 5 weeks of logging in after all!

Just wondering if anyone has lost more than they wanted. Does anyone keep losing weight without wanting to?
-
I'm in! Start weight 149, goal: 140 I know I'm aiming for a little bit more than usual (2 lbs a week), but it would be so awesome to reach my ultimate goal weight by the end of this challenge!
-
I met my goal! 149.0 today! Right on the dot! :-)

Has anyone found a product or non-surgerical procedure for firm skin when you have all this extra skin from losing weight?

Has anyone heard of "Thermage"?
