    Scars after surgery

Oh, and another thing: I'm a side sleeper, but have been forcing myself to sleep on my back since the surgery on Friday. Is it ok now to sleep on the side? Or will that be bad for the wounds?

    Those who are self pay

"Care credit" works with you for any medical loan/credit needed. But you should also tall directly to the surgeon you are considering and find out how their patients do it, and how they can work with you.

    Thanks! Will do!

    Scars after surgery

Thanks. This is what they look like. Does the "bloody" one look ok to you?
  5. How much walking do you consider enough walking so early post op? I do walk as well but usually down the hospital hallway and back maybe twice a day.
  6. Me too. They took my drain out and I already feel some relief. However, I'm noticing a lot more the shoulder and back pain they warned me I was going to feel because of all the gas they filled me with. Today is the first day that I'm having something different than ice or water. I just had 4spoons of some clear broth...
  7. Yeah, o couldn't tell you how much I HATE nausea. Ugh. I just got something for the nausea, hope it takes it away. :-(
  8. This is my 3rd day in the hospital. I'm not feeling any better. Even if I have a dip of water, I get nauseous. They aren't giving me pain killers through my iv anymore; now it's a syrup I have to swallow, which also give me nausea, but apart from that, the syrup does help once I survive from the horrible nausea.
  9. Yes, every couple of hours they do. But it only lasts so long before it comes back. And I need to start drinking water or ice, but every time I try, it brings back the nausea so bad.
  10. Thanks. Today, I actually feel worse than I did yesterday. I was told that it's because I may still have had some anesthesia wearing off slowly yesterday. I might stay in the hospital a day or 2 more than anticipated... I just hate the nausea, it's one of the worst... :-(
  11. It's great to hear your surgeries went well as well... but I wish I was feeling as good as u all :-/ I feel really sucky..
  12. Oh and one more thing, I'm starving! Maybe it's because I haven't had anything yet in over 24hr hours, but i feel almost like my stomach is intact and asking for food! :-S
  13. Hi guys! My surgery went very well! No complications at all. I'm still in the hospital, I got up last night to walk, I must say, it wasn't easy. I feel that the surgery went a lot better than the recovery. I'm in so much pain when i take a deep breath or when I try to get up! Ouch! And I've been getting pretty nauseous. I haven't been allowed any liquid yet apart from ice, which doesn't really help the nausea. Whatever little movement I make, I get nauseous. How are you doing CoraLD77?
  14. Omg, I'm getting sleeved tomorrow! This is really happening!!! Good luck to everyone else who is on the 27th or after :-)!

Period day of surgery and after

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that you had to go through that :-( My surgery is tomorrow and I can feel that it will probably come a few hours before or even during! I hate the thought of that. Ugh. One more thing to deal with! This might be a stupid question lol, but did you tell your Dr before going in to surgery? Do you think that having your period would change anything in the surgery?

Preop diet how much weight lost?

I haven't finished pre-op yet, but only a day left! And so far, I've lost 14 lbs. I really tried to get a variety of shake so that I don't get too bored or disgusted, and it worked for a while, I had different flavors. The hardest part for me was not forcing myself to drink the shakes I got tired of, but it is watching TV and seeing some food commercial that looks SO good, or getting out of the house and driving past all the food places I like to stop at :-( I knew I'd have to give all that up and it's hard, but i'm keeping my eyes on the prize! And focusing on the end result and the reason why I'm going through with the sleeve.

Wouldnt it be nice! Ugh!?! :(

I know exactly what you mean! But that has not just happened to me during pre-op. But during any diets I've ever tried, it's like my family has always influences my self - sabotaging attitude

Wouldnt it be nice! Ugh!?! :(

I'm been on pre-op for about 6 days now, and the only way I made it was by going somewhere else whenever I knew food time was coming for everyone else. I'd either go to my room and light up a flower scented candle or something of the sort, or step out and run some errands, or go for a walk. Trust me I know it's hard. But keep reminding yourself of how great you are going to feel when you make it to your goal!

    These TV commercials!

Thanks guys. :-). I will definitely try to apply those methods. And yes I do have a dvr. And every time I think about junk food, I keep trying to repeat to myself why I'm having the surgery and that those foods are a big part of the reasons why. It just gets hard sometimes.
  20. I'm on my pre op and I've been doing good. But I was watching tv and everything that came on was about food. In the movie I was watching, some guy was eating a burger that seemed amazingly good. Then someone ate a nice big juicy hot dog. Then came the commercials. This is insane! They're driving me nuts. :-( I guess I should just turn off the tv....

    These TV commercials!

    Thanks! I'm counting on it!
  22. How much weight have you lost pre-op? It seems to me that because most of us have to go on a liquid diet, we all lose, and some of us HAVE to lose to get the surgery. But I'm curious, what's the most anyone has lost during pre-op alone? I just did 3 days of pre-op and already lost 10 lbs. Caught me by surprise since I'm not one to lose easily, though I know this was probably some Water weight or something...

Turning a corner with hair loss?.

Does EVERYONE get the hair loss side effect? How common is that anyway? It seems to be pretty popular online...

Turning a corner with hair loss?.

Yay! :-) that's great to hear! Hope it continues to improve Do you think the lack of enough Protein might account for some of the hair loss?
