    Fattitude

A friend of my cousin saw me a few months ago at my heaviest, and was nice, but I turned around for a second and caught him looking at me in a disgusted way. I felt so hurt. My self esteem got crushed even more than it already had. I even felt embarrassed and ashamed because the last time he saw me I was slim. Then, when I left the room, I heard him ask my cousin what happened to me and my cousin told him that I'm fine, but I've just been goin through a rough patch lately. I can't wait to see him again in a few months and show off! And ill look at him in a disgusted way because hes disgusting on the inside! That prick! I just hate people who judge like that. I've never been one to handle judgment from other well though. Tryin to change that!

3 weeks post-op: Pizza and Pasta?!

I know. You are absolutely right. I've felt so miserable since then :-( And yeah, I don't think the people around me, friends and family, understand all of this for me. Though I've done my job, and explained to everyone concerned in my life what this surgery means and what needs to be done following it... But I just feel that they don't see it as SUCH a big deal. I feel that to them, it's like "one little thing won't do anything". And I'm a food addict and that kind of response from them does me not good. But what should I have expected? They're food addicts too! This is really hard for me. I don't see a therapist because they are too expensive and I just lost my job, so I try to treat myself through other resources online and in books and support groups... I've always been the self sabotaging type. :-/ But anyway, I'm back on track now , and I'm gonna do my best to stay there... *sigh*

Glue: How Long Does It Stay On?

One week. And by then, I had my first follow up appointment with my doctor and he took them all off and told me to just let them air from now on. One of my wounds was bleeding a little, so he covered that one up. The glue came off after the second week... But not entirely by itself; I picked at a lot in the shower with soap...

    Always hungry!

I'm still losing. I lost 3lbs this week, and 4lbs last week. Yesterday, I was 210, and just this morning, I was 209.2.

    Always hungry!

Me too! I'm always hungry! and I'm only 3 weeks post-op! I don't know what it is, but even though I am on a regular diet, I still have a lot of Protein drinks, for that is the only I know to get enough protein. So I'm thinking "maybe I'm hungry so much and so often because what I "eat" is liquid"... I don't know... But I totally sympathize...

    Shaving before VSG?

I have some hair, but as a woman, it is just fine, small hair. And after my surgery, I noticed that they shaved my stomach! Even though I didnt even have a lot of hair! So I say bring yourself there, and whatever they need to do (whether shaving), they will do it anyway. So just let them worry about that. They've seen all kinds of stomachs before, they know what they need to do.

3 weeks post-op: Pizza and Pasta?!

Yeah, it definitely is hard! :(How are you doing being 3 weeks post op too?
  11. I'm only 3 weeks post op, but my hunger never really went away. Well, I didn't feel hungry for the first maybe 4days.... after that, if I didn't regularly, I get REALLY hungry. Starving even.

    Sleeping

It's happened to me too, I just used 4 pillows :-/ But I'm fine now with one or two.

    Carbs?

    Thanks!

    Carbs?

I was told to keep my diet low carb and low sugar. But I'm wondering what is low enough? At least at this stage (2 weeks post op) ? I'm finding some supplements online to replace having to drink a shake all the time, and some have 20 something, some have 12grams of carbs, some have 15, and some 2 or 3. How much is enough? How much is too much?

    Carbs?

    Thanks!
  16. I stopped taking it a day before surgery. Haven't taken it since and my doctor agreed that I stop for now.

    dumping syndrome?

Thanks! After how I felt, I don't even want to try another one of my Atkins bar!
  18. Today, I have officially lost 25lbs since starting my one week pre-op. When I told my mom, she was so excited and expressed so much joy. However, I don't feel that way at all... I just don't know where those 25lbs went, because, as crazy as this may sound, I don't feel it. I feel like I've lost 5lbs. Nothing seems different to me. I think it's because I'm still wearing the same clothes, and they aren't baggy on me yet, and u still look the same. I noticed my face went down a tiny bit, but I don't feel the 25lbs, which seems a lot to other people... :-/

    I want a soda

I don't know but I do know that I'm addicted to Coke/Diet Coke/Coke Zero and won't be able to stop if I start, so I'm steering clear!

    Condiments

My Dr. Said I could have low fat mayo, but I forgot to ask about a few other things...like: Mustard Ketchup (I know it's High sugar, but is it ok once in a while?) Tartar sauce Etc... Which condiments are we allowed to have? At least in moderation

    Aftercare, labwork, etc

I'm not sure if it's a good thing but my surgeon followed up with me a week later, then I have another appointment a month later, and then in 6 months... haven't heard talks of lab work yet but I'm assuming it would probably be around the 6month mark...
