  1. Mine is April 10th. 2014. It should have been in January 2014 but I had to switch Drs for insurance reasons. I started back in Sept 2013. I thought waiting was the hardest part but now that is so close, I think these 2 weeks before surgery are the hardest part, the pre-op diet its soooo hard and the nerves have taken my TOM away this month. Everyday I have more and more doubts so I come here and read success stories so I don;t feel so afraid. But before you know it your time will be here. Good luck on your journey.
  2. OK I'm gonna vent a little. I'm a person that never gets sick. And I can set up an alarm w my TOM it's always on time. As I am preparing for my surgery April 10 my TOM disappeared, (no chances of me being pregnant at all) I only spotted. Then I feel like I'm getting a cold. And now that I'm doing my preop diet I'm waking up w bad headaches and I can't take meds. Maybe I'm stressing too much. I've never had a missed TOM.
  3. I'm thinking is stress too. I'm just hoping it doesn't come during my surgery or right afterwards. I will have so much to worry about then to have to deal w that too.
  4. You look great. Congrats
  5. Im supposed to start mine Thursday but I started early just in case I messed up, and to let my body adjust to the all liquid idea. Today is my third day and I woke up with the worst headache, of course they said no meds 10 days before surgery but because Im sooo paranoid Im doing no meds a month before LOL.My surgery is April 10...So far I've done pretty good. I've noticed the hunger comes at night, so I just go to bed so I dont have to think about it. Good luck with your diet. Let us know how it goes.
  6. Hi I've been reading a lot and watching you tube videos so I have been writing down things but there is so much out there. I should be sleeved on April 10, 2014. I started my liquid diet a little bit before the 2 weeks because I'm a slow loser, I have been drinking the Bariatric Advantage Protein drinks which aren't that bad, but I have noticed I get gassy this worries me because I work in an office full of people and I've been reading about the stomach rumbles and the uncontrollable gas after surgery. I have been using Gas-x strips. But I'm wondering if its the protein that does this or the skim milk? Should I use Water instead of milk? What foods should i totally avoid after surgery so I don't get gassy? And my other concern is malnutrition. I'm such a picky eater already and to top that I suck at cooking. I need easy ideas. Thank you ...Can't wait to be on the losers bench.
  7. Thank you for the idea I will try the injury w almond milk. I tried Isopure drinks and I liked them. I would put 2 drops of crystal light in them and crushed ice and it's really good too.
  8. Thank You. I started taking vitamins now pre surgery so I can get used to taking them. The protein so far I've only tried bariatric advantage, I bought some premier proteins that Im saving for after surgery. Which one is your favorite? Do you mix it with water or milk?
  9. Only one week? lucky you. I have to start mine on the 27th 2 weeks before. But because I know Im such a slow loser I started yesterday. I have been trying to cut back ever since I heard I was approved and did not lose a single pound. So I figured Ill start this liquid thing early so in case I slip at least I got a couple of days to adjust to the "real thing". So far yesterday I felt hungry in the afternoon. And I had like 3 sugar free popsicles but that did not do much so I had a little bit of Peanut Butter and Water and that calmed me down a little, That and then I went to bed early so I would forget about the hunger.LOL

    2014 Chicago Sleevers

Hi I will also be having my surgery with Dr. Elli on April 10. I have to start my pre-op diet in a few days and I'm more nervous about that than anything else. When is your surgery? Good luck to you.
  12. I'm also April 10th. I'm very nervous about the pre-op diet that I have to start in a few days. Good luck to you, soon we will be on the losers bench.

    Approved and Nervous

You are not alone. Same is happening to me. Just got my letter of approval from the insurance and already have my pre op appointment coming up. And now Im sooo nervous... I know I want the surgery, I can't wait to have it. But Im nervous about the pain or if I wont be able to keep food down and become sick things like that. Congratulations on your approval. We will be fine and soon in the losers bench.
  14. I'm also January 13th...How are you doing on your pre-op diet? I'm not doing too good but hanging in there...Hungry all the time...
  15. I started mine two days ago. :-( I have not been doing too good...Im only supposed to have the shakes and I've been hungry. I've decided on my own to have two shakes and one meal. I'm still eating less than I used to so I'm hoping I lose some weight. The head hunger is no joke, It makes me wonder if I'll be successful after the operation. January 13 hurry up and get here, because I feel like I want to eat the world.

    January 2014!

Mine should be toward the middle or end of January. I am scare about the pre op diet, and I've been having the "food funerals" eating everything in site twice...at the beginning it seemed so far away but January is just around the corner and hopefully we will all be ready for the summer with a couple of pounds less. Good Luck to all.
  17. I have struggled with my weight for at least 5 years. Before it was easy to lose weight if I gained, but now it's so hard. I decided to have the surgery for health reasons but also there are so many things I miss doing and I can't wait to start doing them again. My post op bucket list. I can't wait to: 1. Go out dancing all night long (and not feel like im gonna die after one dance) 2. Wear high heels again. (I can wear them now but its hard on my feet 3. Have an active sex life again...Yes I want to set the ho free....lol 4. Buy sexy lingerie. 5. Run a marathon. ( I never did before but I want to do it now.) What are some of the things that you can't wait to do.
  18. I've gained about 5 pounds since my 1st Nut visit. I had my 2nd visit yesterday and I was so afraid they would be talking about how I gained, and If I really want this I need to stick to the plan etc...But it was totally different actually. They didn't even mention the weight gain and concentrated more on new behaviors I should start. I have my 3rd visit in 3 weeks and I plan to lose those 7 pounds not for them but because I really need to stick to the plan. However until I get my approval Im making sure I stay at a BMI of at least 40. I don't want to take any chances with the insurance.
  19. Same here it looks like mid or end of January for me. But the way I see it, is Ill get to enjoy the Christmas food, and Ill be ready b4 the summer. Don't worry, between appointments etc...time goes by pretty fast..I've been using this time to learn more about what to eat post surgery. Also trying out different protein shakes etc... Pretty soon we will be on the loosers bench.

    psych eval

Just got back from my psyc eval. I was pretty nervous but it was so easy. I only had like 20 questions and then she asked me some other questions less than an hour and it was over. :-)
  22. On my way to my psyc eval. So nervous. :-(

    Insurance Approval!

I also from the NW suburbs and same surgeon. I have to do a 3 month diet/nut visits. Most likely my surgery will be in January 2014. The staff at Kane Center are the best.
