  1. So I guess I hit a stall. I'm still 226. That 3 weeks stall everyone talks about I only mine was 2 1/2 weeks. I'm not gonna stress about it. I'm not gonna stress about it. Yeah right. I don't like it one bit. Wonder how long it lasts? But on the positive Side I'm not gaining. Time to read what people do during stalls to speed things up. Wish me luck.
  2. I'm still 226 and I feel like it's taking forever for me to lose a pound. Lol. Its like every two days now. I know it's ridiculous to worry but of course there's that voice in the back of my mind that says "you will be the one that will not lose much etc" but I as also have to admit I have not walked the last 3 days I noticed I feel tired after just doing a couple of things so I've been slacking on exercise. I need to get back on track. I go to work on the 30th and I can't wait.
  3. I'm 226 today. My size 22 that used to be tight are big now and my size 20 are not tight they are loose. So I'm extremely happy. I go to work in 4 days, looking forward to it. My uniform shirt its loose the buttons are not popping out.I'm eating soft foods. Cream of wheat, yogurt, mashed potatoes etc..
  4. Maltese gal I've never tried Pb2 but right now I'm staying away from peanut butter for a while. I'll try it again in a month or so to see how it goes. Lol
  5. Well they said I was doing good and removed my stitches. I have another appt in a month. They want me to try to lose 10 to 15 pounds a month. We'll see. So all day in this appointment and I didn't eat anything, I wasn't hungry but knew I had to eat. I made my scrambled eggs again later some premier protein and water it was all good till I decided let me have some low fat peanut butter. I swear I'll never touch it again. It has given me the worst feeling I've had since coming out of surgery. My stomach feels like is so full and its sitting there in between my breast I can't find a comfortable position and it hurts. I hate peanut butter now. :-(
  6. I was sleeved 4/10 and my recovery has been great, I was one of those that was able to walk and do things right away Thank God but everyone is different and you have to listen to your body. As for the stomach stretch I thought the same thing when I noticed I could drink a lot more than I did at the beginning and also I could eat more than the 1/4 oz yogurt or cottage cheese. I was freaking out a little also because the first few days I was dropping 2 pounds a day and now it's like a pound every 2 days or 3 days and I'm hardly eating. But I know all this is supposed to happen so as long as its coming off I'm happy. Stay strong and keep eating what you are supposed to be eating it will come off.
  7. I'm 227 today. I feel like the weight is taking longer to come off than it did in the first few days but I know that's normal but I most admit I was getting spoiled w the 2 or 1 pound a day. Now its like a pound every two days. But I didn't gained it all in one day so I'm happy that is finally coming off. Today I had grits for breakfast. I was full quick. And my tummy seems to like it. I go see my Dr try today to remove the stitches (little staples). I will let u know how that goes.
  8. Today I went shopping, my jeans were loose. I'm 228 today. I don;t want to buy any clothes yet, but I keep looking at all the summer stuff and I can't wait. I didn't drink as much Water yesterday so my 228 was like 228.7 I am happy with that but I know it could have been less had I drank more water. I'm only liking my egg beaters at this moment, they make me feel full longer, I don't think I could blend chicken or eat my food blended so I'm sticking to the eggs. I can't wait to go back to work and see if people notice the difference, My face looks slimmer for sure. I carried some bags today and then my side started hurting a little. So even when you feel good don't start lifting things and doing too much. I had to take my pain meds. So day 12 feels great, and everyday I'm glad I did it. I remember being so scared so anxious about the whole thing and now my worries are all about did I drink enough water, I'm I eating the right amounts etc, etc... It is a life changing decision that I don't regret. Talk to u guys later.
  9. Thanks for the update Jenelle good to know what u can tolerate and what makes u feel really full how are you going with getting in all your fluids? I have no problems with fluids, I still can't get my 64oz but I think I'm getting around 40 maybe a little more, which my DR. said is ok for the first month and to work my way up. Fluids, yogurt, cottage cheese and pudding don't make me feel as full. Scrambled eggs, peanut butter does. I have not venture with mashed potatoes or other stuff yet.
  10. I have not added unflavored Protein Powder. I have premier Proteins and that's what I'm drinking. I also have the Bariatric Advantage powder vanilla which I was drinking during my pre op diet but I think If I drink them now I'll feel too full and the blender leaves all these bubbles that might cause gas pain so right now Im sticking to Premier Protein. chicken broth is one of my favorite things right now so I wont add anything to it.

    4% Cottage Cheese?

My list said to avoid the 2% cottage cheese but I had already bought it so I ate it anyway. I added sugar free applesauce. It should be fine.
  12. Day 11. Still 229. Always eat new foods at home because u don't know if your pouch will like them. I noticed pudding and peanut butter are a quick trip to the bathroom. And also I can eat yogurt and cottage cheese and not feel too full like I feel w eggs. I'm loving the egg beaters. Walked today and I'm trying to get more protein in. Loving my sleeve.
  13. Down to 229. No pain but I feel a little weak or tired would be a better word. I have been taking my vitamins and my fluid intake is good I'm wondering if I need more protein I'm taking at least 40gm. Premier protein is 30gm and then the other stuff. I know it should be higher but I don't know how I feel full all the time. Maybe I need to slow down, I have been doing stuff around the house. Oh one more thing I noticed I've a always had hair loss and I was expecting it but I thought it would be later like after 2 months or so, well I'm seeing the loss now. It's a lot more than the norm for me. I think I'll skip walking today. Talk you guys later. Enjoy your weekend.
  14. I have 2 herniated disks so the back pain for me was horrible. I did not need to take the morphine at the hospital because they put toradol in my IV. sleeping on my back was horrible and I can honestly say the back pain was worst than the stomach pain I took the meds they gave me at home just because of the back pain. I bought a body pillow and around the 5th day I started trying to sleep on my side and this worked a little I also took my meds before bed time not so much during the day. The body pillow helped a lot I strongly recommended.
  15. Happy I did it for sure. 230 lbs as of today. Loving my sleeve.

  16. Day 9 Post op....So excited I'm down 2 more pounds. 230 lbs as of today. I was afraid I would stop losing because I was introducing more food, I was scared to step on the scale. Truth is I'm still scared that it will stop, and I know there will be stalls and days where I won't lose and because of that I must stop weighing myself everyday. I'm still trying to learn the signals of when my body is full, today I started eating and looked for the signals and sure enough after the second bite (incredible right?) I was getting that feeling of fullness and then after the third the burps. I waited for a while and took my last bite and after another 10minutes I started on my 1/4 cup of yogurt (yogurt goes down easy). I am so full. I tried my uniform yesterday and the pants are loose and the top too. I hate exercise but this surgery has given me motivation. Everyday I'm trying to walk a little if I can't get my 30 minutes in which is my goal at least I do half. Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. And to everyone that is in the pre-op stages hang in there and follow the Drs instructions to the teeth. I still crave food and when I cook for my kids I still wish I could have some but somehow knowing that doing that might mess up everything stops me from even trying that and that I don't want to imagine being sick. I have been fortunate with little pain and no nausea, dizziness or vomiting and I want to keep it that way.
  17. . That's Awesome!! you don't feel nothing like if you wanted to go back to work would you go at this stage ? . That's Awesome!! you don't feel nothing like if you wanted to go back to work would you go at this stage ? I could go back to work now, because my work requires no lifting. However I didn't want to go to work right away because I had no idea how my recovery would be and also because I didn't want to be going through the food stages at work. I rather be at home when I'm trying new foods because you never know how your stomach is going to react to them. For example (TMI coming) that little bit of peanut butter I had yesterday sent me straight to the bathroom. LOL... You are almost there How is the pre op diet going?
  18. Day 8 . blended stage. Im 232 lost one pound. And this new paranoia of what if I stop losing has come over me. Breakfast I had eggbeaters equivalent to 1 egg. And 1/2 cup of yogurt I should've had 1/4cup but I read the instructions wrong. It took me a longgg time to eat this and my stomach felt full. Later lunch was 1/4 low fat peanut butter. Afternoon dinner 1/4 cottage cheese and 1/4 sugar free applesauce. In between my liquids and 1 premier protein that takes me a whole day to drink. I think I need more protein but have no idea how to get it in. Not bloated and no pain. So far so good.
  19. Congrats. Hang in there with the pre op diet, was for sure the most difficult part for me. The funny thing was that they never even weighted me when I went for my surgery LOL... At the beginning I had terrible headaches and I did cheat on my 7th day with a big plate of mac and cheese. Just hang in there it's totally worth it. After surgery my advise to you or anyone is: If you can, try to stay off the heavy meds like the morphine, I never took mine because I knew they would upset my stomach and make me dizzy and If I was to get up and walk around I did not want to be dizzy etc...Good luck to you.
  20. Day 7 post op. My back is killing me. I didn't take my pain meds yesterday because my stomach doesn't really hurt much but today I took it. I had to take it because the back pain is horrible. I have two herniated disks so sleeping on my back is not easy. I was able to sleep on my sides a little yesterday, of course with a big body pillow (by the way these are great for after surgery). OK so the numbers ....down two more pounds I'm 233 lbs today. I'm so excited about the weight loss I don;t want it to stop, I look forward to stepping on the scale now and I was one that really never weighted myself. I think I'll do it daily for the first month but after that I'll go to once a week. My body is pear shaped most of my weight is around my hips and thighs, even at my biggest I always had a waist the stomach was the last area to gain and the first to go when I lost. And so today when I woke up I lifted my head and saw my toes without having to lift my body from the bed. Ohhhh what a great feeling. I'm gonna try my uniform later to see how it fits. (I'll let you all know later). I'm drinking diluted Zero Vitamin Water today. I've been doing pretty good with my liquids and I don't feel like I have a restriction with the liquids but the premier Protein really fills me up, tomorrow I go the blended stage and I'm allowed yogurt and cottage cheese and scrambled eggs I can't wait to see how it goes. I am now searching for easy ideas for the soft food stage. I have been taking my Vitamins, the other day I tried my Flintstone with Iron and my tummy did not like them, I had like a burning pain so for now I'm sticking to the samples I got from my NUT they are Bariatric Advantage vitamins and these don't cause discomfort. I am thinking of doing my before and after album, I hated having my picture taken after I gained weight I was always hiding behind others, so as soon as I see a little difference in the body I will start posting. Well talk to you guys later. I hope my info helps in any way, I know it helped me to read how others were doing. I can honestly say I am soooo happy I did it.
  21. First off, CONGRATS! Everything seems to be going really good for you! Is this UIC or Univ of Chicago you're talking about? I think is UIC the one on W Taylor st. My surgeon was Dr. Enrique Elli . I had originally started at another facility Kane Center at Hoffman Estates IL but Alexian Brothers hospital was not approved (for this particular procedure) by my insurance. They required and IOQ (Institute of Quality) hospital, so after I had gone through everything I had to switch DRs. I found Dr. Elli and they did everything pretty fast and he did a great job with me, the hospital staff was nice and always attentive I have no complaints.
  22. Wait I just realized I'm no Longer 237 I'm 235 now. Lol. So my mini goal is 228 by the 30th. Oh another thing my kids don't know how good I'm feeling because I'm enjoying the extra care they are giving me. They clean and pick up without me fussing lol.
  23. Day 6 post op. Feeling better each day and loving stepping on the scale. I am down 2 more pounds I'm 235 today. Pain is at a level 1 maybe less it just feels uncomfortable. I drove yesterday. My stomach feels a little bloated still. Drinking liquids not hard however the premier proteins make me feel so full it's hard to drink them all. After drinking comes the stomach sounds. Hollow sounds lol. Also I've noticed the chicken broth goes down w no problem And it helps a lot w the gas and the bloated feeling. My incisions are still cover they don't hurt I can feel the little staples, sometimes they itch. I'm not hungry however when I see things I like I still wish I could eat them but I won't give in because I don't want to even think of the pain this may cause and I don't want to mess this up. I'm 237 and I go back to work on the 30th I want my pants to be loose. So my new mini goal is 230. Will update how this goes. :-)
  24. Getting better every day. 5 day post op.

Jenelle, sorry I haven't been on much. I had a leak in the pouch and ended back up in the hospital for another 5 days. Then i left the hospital with a new infection called c-diff. Very unpleasant. It took two weeks and several antibiotics to clear it up. My main incision kept opening and leaking as well. As of today I am almost 11 weeks and feeling like a human again. I've lost over 50 lbs but pretty much the hard way! Now I just need to get my motivation back.

  25. Day 5 post op. The bloated feeling continues, but it's not the whole day. I am 237lbs today the same weight as surgery day. That's great because after surgery I had gone up to 242. Today I had a real sharp pain on the left side. I couldn't even breathe, I got real scared, but just as fast it went away I think it may have been gas trapped under my breast. Today I started drinking my Protein shakes I found I can down Water or diluted juice faster. I'm walking 15 minutes on the treadmill in the am and 15 minutes on the pm. Today I will try to do 20 and 20 and also at a faster pace (not too fast maybe 1.5 I was doing it at 1) I am exciting that I'm already losing weight.
