Weeks three -five post op diet
Chase30 replied to Italiancurves's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
4 weeks of full liquids seems longer than most. And 4 weeks of purees in addition to that is way too much IMO. My nut said 2 weeks full liquids, then 2 weeks purees, then 4 weeks soft foods. -
I do egg beaters, I measure out 1/3 cup and that is perfect for me. I'm 18 days post op and today is the first day I was able to tolerate eggs.
-
start with yogurt in the mornings, perfect consistency to start with and of course tastes great. then try oatmeal and add milk to even out the texture. you could also thicken up your protein drink by adding a scoop of oats. That's all I have for my 3 meals. The point is to prep your pouch for soft foods. So build yourself up slowly with thicker and thicker purees.
-
calculate your BMI to help determine how many calories you need to eat to maintain your current weight. If you still need to lose weight then eat less than that number. At 1.5yrs out it's simple calories in vs calories out.

I think oatmeal is great, add milk to get an even texture, this will def prep your stomach for soft foods. 3 days ago I tried eggs and it hurt going down. Went back to oatmeal for a few days. Tried eggs again today and I ate everything with no trouble. -
In these first 2 weeks I spit all the time. I feel like I have more saliva than ever.

I have yogurt, oatmeal, and mashed up chicken noodle soup as my 3 meals, then I drink Water and maybe 1 Protein drink between meals.Start with very smooth purees like yogurt and then go thicker and thicker as you get more accustomed. If you don't like broth, buy Campbell's chicken noodle soup and just strain out the noodles, tastes much better IMO. Also cream of chicken is pretty good. -

Yeah being in Tijuana is not a vacation you want to have. I wanted to got as fast as possible as well. While also being in pain from surgery it's not ideal. There's no place like America and being home. -

Ice: Breakfast, lunch...n possibly dinner

you can go days/weeks without food. don't worry about it as long as you get enough water. try liquid vitamins for essential nutrients if that helps.. -

dr's say not to drink while eating because you may miss a lot of the nutrients from your foods. It passes through you too fast, thus leading to more eating.

4 weeks out and only 16 lbs lost. Totally regretting this surgery.
Chase30 replied to OHHLALA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
everyones body is different but keeping those calories low will lead to weight loss. it's science. calories in vs calories out. drink more water, protein shakes, and eat white fish for dinner, no carbs after lunch.. -

Stopped losing weight (and even gained) only 2 weeks after surgery - normal?
Chase30 replied to SleeveFox's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
your body lost a lot of water weight the first two weeks. You'll start losing excess fat from now on, just make sure you maintain a high protein diet. consider going back to liquids with maybe some sugar free jello for a few days. my dr said to not start soft foods until week 4 to allow for my stomach to heal. -

Samuel at ready for achange had a medical pass, same thing. We got across in 30-45 min. The line we passed up, cars were stacked up there, looked like a 4 hour wait.
