I was on liquids for the first two weeks post op. For about a week or so I had a HUGE problem with Water and sometimes still do. There's medicine to help with the cramping. It's called Levsin. Ask your doc to order you some -

I think we had surgery the same day. I have been eating canned chicken with broth so it's moist. Today was my daughters birthday and she chose Applebee's. I ordered the Napa Chicken. Made sure to chew well and had no issues. -
I would go if you want to see your Grandma before she dies. I wouldn't risk not seeing her.....I just lost my Grandma in August and it was heartbreaking

mlowell replied to extracat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I talked to the PA at my office about this and she said your weight can fluctuate and not to worry about it........and she also said "Throw away your SCALE!!" -
I did. 60g a day. A shake made with soy milk and nectar chocolate truffle in the morning, a nectar drink made with water in the afternoon and a different protein drink made with water around dinner time. 29+23+15=67g

They make wonderful pre-op drugs after the anesthesiologist sees you, you will get them and feel floaty....high as a kite. You'll do great! -

mlowell replied to OHHLALA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so sorry . What's your starting weight? I am hoping not to join you.....I haven't lost anything in over a week. Everything I read on here says you can stall at 3 weeks and it can last 3 weeks. Good luck, and your not alone. I hope it improves for you -

My doc started me on antidepressants before surgery...I do have a history of depression and we were being proactive. My doc and the PA's in the office had NUMEROUS talks with me about how it is very easy to get depressed after weight loss surgery.....or become addicted to something else. Maybe you should get started on something. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. -
I was gonna tell you to watch out. I have become very pepper sensitive since surgery (9/10). I added what I normally do to some tomato soup.......and I threw it all away. It tasted like a bowl of pepper...Yuck!

Sorry, no I wasn't told I could eat "anything". I was just happy to eat. I was given a pretty large list of pureed meats, Beans, ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, pudding, tofu, oatmeal, . Then I saw the NUT this Monday and she told me that if I felt like my tummy could handle more food....then I could try the next stage. (since we are 4 weeks out on nextTuesday) I have had canned chicken, left it in the Water it's packaged in (so it didn't dry out) and heated it in the microwave. The NUT said dry meat is what typically makes you sick, so I could add broth or fat free gravy. I thought I am not eating pureed meat....so I popped it in the microwave and it was DELICIOUS. I ate it slowly and chewed it VERY well. I have had fat free refried beans and used some fage yougurt to kinda dip them in.....YUM but it sits kinda heavy. And I have some high Protein oatmeal that I have been eating in the morning. I eat over 30-45 min because I don't want to get sick.....also I'm supposed to stop drinking 15 min before and 45 min after. Seems to work.

Got my required protein in today and my fluids......and had this hankering for mashed potatoes. They were so so so good.
-
No, they aren't a "no-no". Just on my paper it states that I am supposed to eat all my protein first, and if I want after that I can have mashed potatoes.

Just made protein ice cream. Used nectar chocolate truffle protein and Fage Greek yogurt. It was so yummy. I used a half cup of yogurt and one protein pack so it ended up having 34g of protein

Ok, it was bodybuilding.com for the recipe

Michigan! She was actually a patient of mine.

I didn't use a maker. I had saw someone post a site earlier… can't remember what it was ( I'll let u know when I find it) and the guy made ice cream by stirring it together and putting it in a bowl.... One that has a wide bottom. You freeze for an hour and then stir it up again. You can eat it or put it back in if it isn't frozen yet.
