I think you should ask about it. The stuff that's coming out, I rather it out than in. It resembles a light blood color. He said over the next few days it will turn to a straw color. Means healing properly. I searched it on the internet and I've seen lots of people with drains.

The Dr said to prevent infection and watch for leaks ..and I can say that the bag at the end on the drain has been filling up every few hrs, but the amount is slowing down. He said that if I notice a blue color, and I just ate blue jello, come to the ER asap because its a leak. They already checked for leaks but I guess its a precautionary measure. It comes out Oct.10. I do keep my eye on it to see what's comming out my body since I can't see whats going on in there.

Update: nausea is gone! Not long after I drank the contrast for the leak test. The contrast was the 1st thing that stayed down. After that I had icepops, jello, tea and broth, it all stayed down. Thanks to those who prayed for me. I feel much much better. Dr came in a seen me. I told him im ready to go home. He agreed, I went to walgreens and picked up my prescriptions now I'm at home sitting up in bed. The gas pain are still bad, but they come and go....I'm walking around fine, I do have a drain in my belly that the dr will take out oct 10. My total weight loss pre op diet was 10lbs.

Hello everyone...sorry I couldn't post earlier but I have been feeling horrible! With every ice chip I ate, I puked along with blood since yesterday. I took the leak test about two hours ago, the contrast stood down so the nurse brought me some jello. So far it's staying down. I'm feeling a little better than earlier. I have so much gas trapped behind my rib cage, I was having a hard time breathing and had to be put on oxygen several times. All I keep telling myself is the pain will go away.

Surgery at 7am tomorrow! Super excited ????????????????????

I have medicare and secondary medicaid in Texas and I have no co payment or cost with gastric sleeve. I'm posting this because I had looked for this same answer before my registration at the hospital that will preform the surgery. I'm blessed and thank God that I don't have any out of pocket cost. Thank God!

Hi sleevers and future sleevers ! Super excited again, surgery on this Wednesday and nobody can steal my joy! I'm all set, I only lost about 6lbs since on this 2 week pre op diet, but I still have two days so hopefully I get to 8 or 10. I worked out everyday this week for at least 45 mins and its getting easier. I'm so ready to get this done. I bet I will be the happiest person in the hospital Wednesday morning thats thrilled to have surgery ????. I will be sure to keep everyone updated before and after surgery. Surgery is coming up on the 25TH. Now Im sitting here wishing I hadn't told anyone. My family says they wish me luck and will pray everything goes smooth, then next conversation starts with "I sure wish you wouldn't do it" or "you don't need it" or even "you know people die from that kind of surgery"... My husband says he support me, he's been nothing but supportive, then I hear him saying he is scared for me and nervous....I have been excited all the way up until now. They have me feeling like I'm making a bad decision or what if I do die upon the table? Just confused, but I know I want this so bad.....My only two friends that I have, been working out with me, comming to appointments with me, now just to back out and tell me to really think about it! Are you kidding me! How dare them! One didn't even have the guts to call, but wrote a letter to me.....either your with me are your not. Im not about to try an convince any of them why this is important to me...I have a mind just to go on my own and not tell any of them and tell the nurses at the hospital I don't want any visitors!!

Yes very excited! I'm so ready for this, I already started cleaning my closet, giving away most clothes that was already to big because I will never need them again! I packed and unpacked and repacked my hospital bag lol. ☺

Im on the 25TH so we are right around the same time. Those 5 days will pass in no time! Just like this year, its almost out!

Ok today I'm doing a little better with the diet. I called my doc and he doesn't want me taking any appetite suppressants because he said they would interfere with the heart during surgery. So he told me I can have extra veggies when the hunger pains gets unbearable. I am allowed tea also, I went out and got some green tea with pomegranate for my keurig machine and it is great! I hate tea without sugar, but I used one splenda pack and its awesome! I can do this! I have done 30mins of exercise so far....I have the walking dvd with leslie sansome, good workouts on it. I will try the vegetable broth and see if I can manage that. The atkins shakes are very good especially the cafe caramel, but not the strawberry one! I don't think anyone would like the strawberry. It comes out thick, and has a texture of spoiled milk! I gagged and couldn't finish. All the chocolate ones are good and my doctor recommends 3 a day. For a 4 pack at walmart they are $5.63. Be sure to look for the ones that says coupon inside. The coupon is $2 off two 4 packs, and the cashier let me open the box and use them at checkout.
