    Any East Texas bandsters here

    me and my wife were both banded by the same dr. here in tyler. We met a doc down in your area dr. Duc Fong. seemed like a nice guy. but congrats on the band and good luck. I was just looking for people arounf this area but can't seem to find to many people around this area but I know there are 3 banded a week here in tyler from one doc. but it was good to hear from ya thank you.
  2. I was just wondering if there were anyone in here who had their band installed by Dr. Beall or McKinny? I was wondering also how your surgery went and how you are doing so far. I personally have had a great experience with Dr. beall and his staff. looking forward to talking to yall.:clap2:

    it has been along time since i posted this and wanted to bump it to see if anything has changed.

    So... what do you fellas do?

    I work in the oilfeild as a gas measurment tech. I calibrate meters. I drive about 250 miles a day and only stand up about 2 hours a day. so not much exercise for me.

    I feel you I lost down to my goal 8 yrs ago then gained it all back hence the band. I never could get a six pack and I was around 10% or lower you probably have the same issue i had. that small amount of fat and an abundance of skin. hang in there you might be able to get it with a little work.

    I work for my family business we do underground power lines for oncor here in east Texas. currently I handle all the IT and also am a locator on a directional boring crew.

    Exercise

    Hey guys I was just wondering what everyone is doing for exercise. Tell us your plan, how long u have been doing it and what results have you seen so far. Also if you have a plan that did not work please post it as well. My workout that I have always done to lose weight. This is done with lower weight and higher reps. MON & THUR: Tri's and Chest TUES & FRI: Bi's, Back, & Sholders Cardio everyday 1 mile on workout days 3 on wend SAT SUN off. I lose alot with this routine. looking forward to hearing from you other guys. :boxing:

    Contact Sports?

    I have been banded for about 6 months now and I work outside with a jackhammer and other tools that I wondered if it would effect it. My doc said it would be allright. I have not had a problem so far. I also ride a four wheeler everyweekend. I ride hard. Hope that heps a little.

    Exercise

    First off fred I don't know if anyone has told you about this but " You can not pot train to lose weight!!" That is very important thing to know. You can make yourself have a bigger chest by adding muscle to it, but as for tightening skin, if you figure that one out let us all know. I will probably have to have skin removed from my stomach when I hit goal as or alot of:welcome: people in this group. What is your routine? So maybe I can help you to tweak it for you. I do have alot of experince in exercise and training.

    loch It sounds like you are doing great. Wish I could run that far without getting winded. How much more weight do you have to lose. I would think if you are running that far then you are probably close to goal. congrats on the transformation.

    Gaff I would love to see yours and see how you are doing so far. I have a scale at home that does BF%, TBF, TBWater, and Bone mass. It's not as good as the one at the docs but it does the job. BTW I have not had a fill et and my doc said I probably will not need one at all. That kinda surprised me until he told me about a guy who lost 180lbs in one year and no fill. Thought I would share. bw good job everyone keep up the good work.

    I went in today for a fill at my doctors office. They did my 3 month progress and here it is I am so happy with progress so far. 5-10-07 8-16-07 WEIGHT 421 336 BMI 47.5 37.9 FAT% 50.1 34.3 FAT MASS 211LBS 115.5 FFM(fatfree mass) 210.5 220.5 TARGETS BF% 20% 20% PREDICTED WEIGHT 263 276 pREDICTED FAT MASS 52.5 55.5 FAT TO LOSE 158.5 60.0 These results were shown by the tanita scale that calculates the findings for you.

    That is a cool find Gaff I put mine on the other day and it still fits fine But by the time Ilose another 60 lbs I will be screwed. Anthe ring Ihave has to be sent off and then A new one will be shipped to me. Something about how the ring is made it can't be resized. Do thy have a guard that iswide for big rings or just for narrow ones

    Chris I am not sure of my bodyfat I go in o the 16th for my 3 month and they will do all my meaurments again. I started at abot 45% but want to get to 15to 20 and I will be hppy.

    gaff i know what your going thru I havenot wore my wedding ring in a while it is loose and I have not ought any clothes yet. My pants are a 50 and I need about a 42 now andam about to be in sme 2x shirts. but ongrats and hang in there.

    Same here while at work if i bend over for to log a time it starts to spin. I am on BP mends but I just een my PCP a week ago and e said it wold not hurtto stay on them. I DON"T KNOW!!!! I fig they know what they are dong so we will all just have to see how it goes.:sick

    Congrats chris I have about the same time frame as you and about the same weight loss. again congrats I started losing lot slower nowbut am stillpumped at how it is going. My 3 month Bandervirsary is Aug. 21. and have lost 77 as of today.

    to me there is no stupid question but alot of the questions you are asking can be found by the search, but i will answer what i can 1. i didn't go to mexico so can't really answer, i think cause it is cheaper than in the states. But i wouldn't because of " it's Mexico" 2. don't know about that one i shave my head anyways. 3. A fill is when the doc FILLS the band with solution in order to restrict the eating more. 4. it varies between everyone, but i was just sore and did not want to move much. most docs put you on a clear liquid diet during this time o it is a little difficult for the first week or so, lookup Bandster-hell week. 5. not much for aftercare just don't lift much and watch what you eat your doc will tell you what to eat. 6. again that would vary, me hell no it is a great confidence booster when you see the pounds come off. 7. I have lost down to my goal weight about 5 years prior to being banded, I regained it in 2 years. The feelingof not being big anymore for a guy does feel diffrent but i well worth it. best advice i can give you is to see your doc and my hospital has seminars. they are very informational and can answer most questions for you.
  20. It is very hard for me to get my wter in thru the day cause i work outside. When i eat is usally the best time for me to get fluids in. so i do drink right up to and some during but not much after . usally less than half a glass of tea when out to eat. I have no fill because the doc said i was losing well but have not lost much since then. I don't know if i am still eating to much cause i have not had a fill. normally brekfast is two eggs and a piece of toast usally i don't finish the toast so any help would be nice.

    Could you gain from working out?

    I think you are dead on. your body can hold alot of Water after working out. I was going to say the same thing. also if you are weight lifting then muscle mass can make you gain, but normally you will not see this for a few weeks into working out.
  22. I have to say I have no problem eating anything really, but I have not even tried rice! and I have no fill(doc said i didn't need it) so that may be a ood reason plus i chew it to DEATH.
