I was just banded on Monday 7/2. My surgery was scheduled for 9am but didn't actually go into the OR until about 9:45. I left the surgery center at around 12:30 pm that afternoon and went home. I had the barium swallow right after waking up from surgery and then sat in a chair for little bit recovering and then got discharge instructions. I was in a lot of pain especially from the gas....I couldn't wait to get my pain med prescription. I still have a lot of gas and stomach pain/pressure and it is now been a week but every day is getting better. Sandra L.

Yes, it is very disappointing. I was banded on Monday, 7/2 and I weighed myself on Friday and it showed that I had not lost any weight at all. I was really disappointed since all week long I have had nothing but Clear liquids...how can you not lose ANY weight on a clear liquids diet??? I am going to try not to weigh myself again until next week...hopefully by then the scale will decide to move some. Sandra L.

I just had my surgery on 7/2 and am sore at the port site which I did expect due to the type of surgery. I almost don't want to stand up straight to stretch it because it hurts more like that. But my calves are very sore and achy and hurt. It feels like I ran too way to hard and too much but I have not done any running since the surgery. Did anyone else have sore calves? It gets better after walking a bit but if I sit for a while or after waking up I have to walk very slowly due to the pain...they feel soooo tight. Also my neck and shoulder area are very sore also like I did extremely heavy lifting (but of course I have not). My neck feels so heavy when I am lifting it after having it relaxed laying back. I was not expecting these pains after surgery and just wondering if they are normal or I am just a weirdo? Sandra L. Highest Weight - 254 Date of Surgery 7/2 - 243 Goal 135

Hello, This is my first posting, I just had my surgery yesterday 7/2. Yesterday I had a lot of gas pain/pressure in my chest. After a lot of walking around the house the chest pain has seemed to moved to my neck and shoulders but does not feel as bad as yesterday. Well, now that I am not in as much pain from the gas I am noticing the port pain. It seems that the port was placed on my left side of my stomach right at my curve/crease where I bend. That seems to be a pretty bad place to have put the port since I will always aggravate it whenever I bend down and that is where most of my pants go up to. Has anyone else had this port placement problem? Thanks. Sandra L. in San Antonio, Texas Highest Weight6/11/07 - 254 Day of Surgery 7/2/07 - 243 Goal 135

Port Placement...2 days post op

Thanks for all of the encouragement. It is good to know that others have the port in the same spot and doing just fine. I think that the roller coaster rides should be okay once completely healed. Maybe you can just sit a bit taller or slouch lower just enough so that the bar is directly on the port site. Sandra L.
