Update.... So it decided to come the morning of the surgery..damn Aunt Flo..lol Upon arriving to the hospital I explained my situation, the nurse simply said just get into the bed w/ undies off anyway. She did lay a chux pad down for me. Luckily it was just spotting, no heavy flow! In my opinion it seemed as though they were use to it and it wasn't the big shocker I thought it would be. My team was very professional :-) :-) :-) Side note: I do feel that being on your cycle while your recovering from surgery definitely does add to the lethargic feeling. Once home remember your daily Vitamins and be sure you are taking vit b12..have a wonderful day ladies!!

Hahahaha..I love your response!! Im 6 days out now and my sweetie is 12 days out, so we decided this morning to see what we were made of!! All went very well, and honestly I feel like I have more pep in my step. There really isnt any time limit, just listen to your body and know your limits...and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!:-)

Thanks for asking... I had my surgery on the 1st at Kaiser. The first couple of days I had to sleep on the couch, nearly sitting straight up! My bed is pretty high and I wasnt able to do the normal jump..lol. It does get better everyday however. Im currently on stage 2, full liquids. Isopure and Water are my challenges, whereas mint tea and greek yogurt are easily tolerated. The incisions are healing nicely, except the largest one ( they remove the stomach through there) its very sore and kind of has a pulling feeling if you do too much of anything. Vitamins and prilosec are done daily. I see the surgeon tomorrow for my post op appt. I continue to walk and be as active ( walking) as I can until I get cleared for full exercise...my current stats are: 6 days out of surgery First day home from hospital.. 234 lbs Today...222 lbs

I am 3 days post op and am finally starting to see a light at the end of this tunnel. I too am worried about hair loss, my question is how much biotin are you ladies taking? I'm assuming the msm stands for magnesium??? would you please give me the amount of both I should be taking daily....thanks!!!

I had my surgery yesterday and have get to burp or pass gas..instead I hiccup alot!! Is this my way of passing gass??

I would recommend the PREMIER PROTEIN SHAKES from Costco. They come in vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. You get a case of approximately 18 for $25, each one contains 30 grams of protein... make sure to drink them cold. The chocolate taste like chocolate milk to me!!!

My surgery is Tuesday, April 1st.. I am so greatful to have this opportunity at living an active, healthy, life. Im 5'3 and weigh 225#. I do carry it well and still manage to find great clothes that compliment my " thick" frame. My bf just had his surgery yesterday and thankfully he has had no complications.. except the occasional traveling gas pain. This journey will have great moments along with those " wth did I get myself into" moments. I believe if you stay positive you will have positive results... good luck and congratulations to everyone!! :-) :-)

I am having surgery Feb 19th...yippee! I am in the process of trying to buy the vitamins I'll need in the first 30 days.. my bariatricians recommended either bariatric advantage or celebrate in chewable forms. I have not tried either one... Please share your experiences with both brands. Also what flavors in the isopure you recommend. ..thanks

So today I had to go in to have the last testing done (EKG) prior to meeting my bariatrician in a few weeks. I got to the check in window and the receptionist began to check me in. Im assuming she sees alot of walk ins that are bariatric surgery candidates , also once I gave her my card she accessed my medical record. She looked around her computer and in a loud enough voice said" tell me you're not havin that surgery to lose weight" I was floored! As calmly as I could I responded with a yes. She then said ..mind you infront of the check in line " girl please you do not need that, you can just exercise and lose that little bit of fat". After stating yes I am opting for WLS , I walked away and waited to be called. I am 5'3 227 #..I do carry my weight well and ppl dont believe that I weigh that much when I tell them. I cant help but feel some type of way! No I haven't been overweight all my life, however this is to much weight for my petite frame. Ive experienced all the yo yo dieting and have given this whole thing alot of consideration .

Thanks for all the responses. I left feeling like am making the right decision? My bf reassured me and reminded me why I was on this journey. I will call tomorrow and make a complaint..

I am quickly approaching my surgery. It became so real yesterday when I left my options class with labs to complete and a pre op appt. ... im so excited because I have truly taken this time to learn as much as I can about the sleeve and the new life style I will be living. I have always been a fashion diva with style most women appreciate despite my 20 to 18 size frame. I have not always been overweight, something that happened once I had a child and settled down in life. My question is do I tell my family, friends, and co workers? In the past ppl in my life have shown envy and negativity with the slightest glimpse of success. What are some of the things you guys tell ppl if you dont share your decision of surgery? For example my mother and I are close and lord knows I love her but she cant hold water let alone something like me being in the hospital or surgery. My family will want to visit me... any suggestions ???????

I will be having my surgery at Cadillac WEST LA KAISER . I was wondering if you all could tell me about your experience with the surgeons there. Please make sure you telle the name of the surgeon...thank you, as always. :-) Good or bad.... just honest
