sleep?
GotItDoneInHarlem replied to hpendleton0126's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found that upping my exercise helped a lot, but it wasn't sufficient. Finally, I asked my doctor for a sleep aid while my body adjusts to so many new routines. So, I'm taking Lunesta and it's great. Getting 8-9 solid hours. It's not as crazy as ambien, so there's not sleep walking or eating like ambien. -

Bariatric clear liquid
GotItDoneInHarlem replied to bearman99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same "problem." Everyone on here said not to stress. I did anyway. Called my NP and surgeon. Both said that I should count my blessings that I can get in a lot of liquids. The size of your stomach will become more clear with purees and apparently even more so on solids. Most people are dehydrated now. Drink up and eat slowly. You're in a good spot! I'd call your doctor anyway just for peace of mind. -
I am 9 days out and gained a pound yesterday. No caloric intake change except I switched to purées. I know. I know. I've been drinking better and am finally better hydrated. And I know a pound can easily be Water weight, but darn it I pooped yesterday after three days and thought I'd see a loss after a low down. Thoughts this nutso poster?

Something stuck?
GotItDoneInHarlem replied to GotItDoneInHarlem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah. It's a little panicky, but when in doubt, wait it out! -
So I had my 2oz puree at 5:15. Ever since, it's felt like something is stuck just above my stomach. Feels like my hiatle hernia, but I know that was repaired. I'm not hungry and drinking isn't helping resolved this. I'm going to postpone an hour before eating again as I don't want to skip. Thoughts? Am I just being anxious and that's the little lump?

Is it possible to lose TOO much weight?
GotItDoneInHarlem replied to smaller_Alex's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same thing with me. Lost lost lost, then stuck. Finally started losing again. -
Siggis is my FAVORITE! Hard to find. It's Icelandic, but thicker than greek and more satisfying. Especially during the full liquid phase.

bad shoulder pain, down side of left rib and under left rib cage...
GotItDoneInHarlem replied to AnaBanana's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'd call your doctor. While I don't have experience with a leak, I would personally direct questions like these to a medical professional and not (an amazing group of people) this board. Good luck. -

Hang in there. It sucks, but resolves on it's own when you're eating a healthier and more balanced diet.

WTF?
GotItDoneInHarlem replied to GotItDoneInHarlem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll do my best. I ALWAYS weigh myself first thing in the morning every day. Always have! (Not that I used the data to shape life decisions, mind you.) I'm going to try every other day to see if that makes me less nuts. If it doesn't work, I'll hide it away. Part of the issue is that I have a Withings scale and all the daily data is so much fun to play with online. -
Lots of liquid normal?
GotItDoneInHarlem replied to dyork0028's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh yeah. I'm 8 days out and this majorly stressed me out. I thought I was doing something wrong or damaging/hurting myself. Everyone told me to relax, but it wasn't until I spoke to my doctor that I did. I believe the exact quote was, "Count your lucky. Most people are dehydrated right now. You'll fill up when you start eating." And that has been true. -
During liquids I was getting 500-600 a day. Now I'm in purees I'm getting about 800 a day (and 60-80 grams of protein). Is this about right? I haven't seen any guidelines and my doctor did not provide any. How many calories when we're on 4-6 small meals a day? Thanks for your help.

Surgery in 15 Hours
GotItDoneInHarlem replied to 5Towner's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You've got this! Congrats on surgery and remember that each day you will feel many times better than the day before! Good luck and a speedy recovery. -
I've been too mellow and tired to be mean. I've only had loved ones around who wouldn't care if I snapped anyway just in case.

Am I doing damage?
GotItDoneInHarlem replied to GotItDoneInHarlem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got the same message today from my NP. This is not a problem but instead a stroke of luck. I have certainly been warned to go SLOW with purees.
