  1. If she doesn't want to tell you and she comes here and you're not available I guess the surprise will be on her. You know her better than we do so you'll figure it out.

Frank I am so very sorry for your loss.

    Undecided - please read on

I did a lot of research and you are not in danger of a leak after about 6 weeks. That's why you're on liquid, full liquid and puree diets. Once you're on solids you are no longer in danger of leaks. You're more prone the first few weeks.

Closest thing to 6 months out as I have...

    You look fantastic!!!
  9. I'm telling people that I'm having surgery....period. No one will see my scars so that's not an issue. At work if I have restrictions regarding lifting, health services will give them the restrictions. They don't need to know what kind of surgery I'm having. It's no one's business. If I do want to give more I will tell them I'm having stomach surgery which is true but for now it's surgery....period

    6 month wait

Why would you want to? They are the guidelines your insurance company put in place. You can definitely self pay but if you want insurance coverage you need to do everything you need to do per their guidelines. It's an opportunity to learn about the surgery, what's required, etc. It'll go by fast. Don't rush the process...embrace it and take it one step at a time or self pay.

    discuraged

If you believe it won't help you it won't. You have to have positive thoughts and faith that you can work it. It's a tool and the weight loss depends on your efforts, not on the sleeve.

    what is a SLOW LOSER?

People compare themselves to others which is not a good thing. People lose at different paces, men lose quicker than women, the higher the weigh the quicker it comes off. It's a marathon not a race. YOu do you and keep it moving.

    Input needed please

Sounds like you're at a stall which is normal. Sorry about your injury. Hope you're getting treatment for it.
  17. FRom what I understand someone is with you all the time. Who is her surgeon? Have her give her guide (not sure what you call them) a call.

    Lessons learned Post op

The bottom line is to follow the surgeon's and NUT's guidance to a t. So many people are pushing the limits or either not getting guidance on what they're supposed to do. I was told why not to use a straw, why to avoid straws, how much to eat for the first 12 months, to measure, to eat protein first. But I see so many people fresh out of surgery asking when they can drink alcohol, eating pizza at 3 weeks out, sucking on foods and spitting it out, etc. I try to refrain giving my opinion because you tend to get pounced on. There's also this huge race for the weight loss. The Sleeve is a slower weight loss than the Sleeve. This is a marathon, not a race.
  19. Talk with her about it. Don't let it fester

    When did you try breads?

That's one thing I'm going to try to eliminate from my diet. For me it's going to be P&P....protein and produce

How after sleeve to begin walking

If you're referring to brisk walking, elevating your heart rate, your doctor should give you guidance on that. Surgeons are different on this type of advice. If you're talking about walking to get moving they recommend that as soon as you have surgery.
