Since they don't get an email for the nominee how do they know how to contact you? Did you register with them also? When will you know if you won? What exactly will you do at this place? Should I want to go to? Will there be cookies? Ok now I am just making up questions for the hell of it....~Mandy

I didn't buy new for each size, I did loads of resale shopping but now that i am getting closer to goal I am starting to look at a whole new wardrobe and the mall is starting to call my name. ~Mandy

You are right, I wasn't paying attention. I redid the form and submitted it correctly this time. ~Mandy

I hate eggs unless they are deviled or a really chunky egg salad. I do make the ziplock omletes for my family but I have egg salad or I make turkey sausage for myself. I could eat just the cheese, hold the eggs please. ~Mandy

I didn't cut the cheese but I did have bean Soup for dinner last night, so you just never know. A funny story about that.: When were were growing up (I have 6 older sisters) the sister that is 8 years older than I am had a friend over to spend the night. Our grandmother was staying with us and us girls were up late being girls and my sisters friend passed gas. We starting saying she had cut the cheese and my grandmother yelled at us "Girls you better get out of that cheese it is for cheese omlettes at Breakfast tomorrow....Gotta love grandma's. ~Mandy

I got it too because I registered for the original site. I like it, there are some great resources there. I have also participated in surveys for them. If you did the survey last year that paid $75 they might have recieved your email from that. I registered when I was fighting my insurance and got a list of surgeons that were participating in my area. Inamed also helped me fight the insurance company and win. I like the site and refer people there all the time. If I tell someone about the band that is the first site I offer, this is the second. I would rather give them basic and accurate information and let them decide if the band is right for them and at the same time they have a great resouce of banded people here. I carry a stack of my surgeons cards with both sites written on the back. I hav given out 100 cards or more. I am sure that it has helped loads of people. ~Mandy

First of let me tell you that it took me 75 pounds to get down from a 24 to a 14 and I have an average body shape/size. I am pretty proportionate. If she has lost 20 pounds and 8 sizes she must have been wearing clothes that were huge on her and now stuff that is skin tight. I would tell her about freecycle, it is a place to give away clothing and such that you no longer need. And the stuff goes to a person that will actually use it. I do this will my daughters clothing and toys that are ready to go. Explain to her that you are losing too and her clothes are just as big on you as they are on her. ~Mandy

Hey, Paul do you even make pepperoni chips? Someone on here puts them in the microwave until they are crisp and then eats them instead of chips. I don't eat pok of anykind and the turkey and beef pepperoni dosn't work the same way. I know that it's a popular snack with atkins dieters. ~Mandy

photonut, it also needs wine and onions....not sure why but I am eating onions on everything lately. I actually made homemade onion soup 2 night ago and it is all gone. Last night I made 7 bean soup and had some fresh onion slices with it, it would have been perfect with a huge piece of corn bead but I had some southwest croutons and a 14 oz bowl of soup. I have 6 more portions in the freezer for the next couple of weeks. I am the omly one in my family that likes it so it's all mine......bwahahahah ~Mandy

you need an email address to sent the nod, I used the one from trufolk.com is that ok? Here is what I said: Denice is pretty, funny, smart and a kick ass gamer. She is also totally hot and would make the best of the time she had in the Home of Chrome. If you get it I want to see some kick ass pictures, and hear of the fantastic time you had. Hugs, Mandy

My sister wants to have the band done but my BIL says I am too sick all the time for her to consider it. Since being banded I have had 2 surgeries one for my gallbladder (hers is gone already) and my foot from an exisiting problem. Other than that I have takes 2 trips, bought a new home and painted and decorated all by myself. I worked with special ed kids at the local elementry school last year and have worked with my daughters preschool. I have more energy and stamina than I ever have, I feel great. I guess I must look like crap or something cuz he says I am soooo sickly since surgery. Oh and she wants the band but is totally grossed out that you can see the outline of my port and forget about asking her to touch it. LOL ~Mandy

Alex, You are always so caring, and kind to the members here. I can only describe you are classy and now seeing your pictures also beautiful inside and out. I am proud to know you and have you as a fellow bandster. Congrats on the weightloss but most important on gaining your life. You and the kids all look so much happier in the second set of pictures. ~Mandy

Another option, go to lapband.com and request a list of local Inamed approved sureons in your area. I did and I was surprised to get a huge list, some that were in the phone book as general surgeons. When I called they said they did bariatric surgery but also did gallbladders and such so they are listed as general surgeons. I kept my list and have shared it with several people here and irl. They you have a list of names, numbers and locations to call off of. ~Mandy

Some artist love doing them, look around if that is what you really want. I think there may even be a list of artist that buy from that site. They look cool and can easily be hidden if needed. But before you have it done make sure you have seen some examples of their blacklight work. You don't want to be the one they experiment on. ~Mandy
-
I have not heard that Red can not be removed. I had black lasered to lighten it so I could cover it with a lighter color. The black light ink costs the artist anywhere from 4 to 8 times more than regular in. Here is a great link with some really good info on the ink and some photos. http://www.crazychameleonbodyartsupply.com/crazy-chameleon-blacklight-tattoo-ink-faq-main.htm I don't have any blacklight stuff, my guy won't touch the stuff he says it can't be safe. But I know people that have it and it is cool. I am really fair skinned and have very sensitive skin and he worries about me having a reaction. He's like a brother to me so I wouldn't consider going elsewhere. It is also more expensive because the artist has to work under a black light while tattooing and that is very hard on the eyes. ~Mandy

I know that feeling, I have both feet tattooed and it sucked. I have more tattoo work than the average biker and I was sweating during my feet tattoos. Just make sure if you have to wear socks to work that you get the sock really wet before taking it off, it will help to remove it without removing that top layer of skin. If you have any questions I have been in the tattoo industry for over 10 years and would be happy to help. ~Mandy

Like I said I'm not attacking, just making a point. Everyone has a right to feel the way they feel and I feel that she did contribute in her own way. When we have talked in Email she is soo mega supportive. She always checks in on My Abigale and she is always encouraging me to keep my chin up. It is has been an amazing journey and without her I think I would have given up a long time ago. She always reminded me that I could take care of my little one and myself at one time. I think I would have lost all of my weight if my life had been smoother this past year. I have had 2 surgeries, and my daughter has been through sooooo much. It's hard to lose weight when you are unable to eat homecooked food for days at a time (spending time at the hospital and with various testing and doctors visits.) But DeLarla never left me feel alone or lost in my journey. She was always there to tell me I could do it and that Abigale would be ok. So in that aspect I miss her more than anyone realizes. She was my shoulder, my rock, my sister. ~Mandy

Just make sure that you are letting it get plenty of air and not wearing socks or stockings over it. Also remember once it is healed make sure to protect it with sunscreen when it is exposed. It's really pretty~Mandy

She had less post per day average than you or Photonut. I'm not attacking either of you, just making a point. She was here a very long time building up that many post. The two of you have been here a short time and have a ton of post under your belt. It's a bit harsh to say she spent too much time here don't you think? She is living her life just like when she was posting everyday. ~Mandy

My card from Inamed has the picture of the band and medical information about ulcer causing medications. But is also has this patient can only eat 4-8 oz at a time. I will get the card out and post the exact wording later, right now everyone at my house is sleeping. ~Mandy

I make pinto beans in the crock pot and would love to convert them into refried beans. Any suggestions? I don't do lard or pork products so i would like to avoid those. I also make black beans into a soup like substance in my crock, can I make a refried type beans with black beans? I eat refireds from a can (veggie style) but they are loaded with salt and preservatives so I would like to make healither ones at home. Any suggestions??? ~Mandy

I have been in contact with Lisa and I don't think she will ever come back. I for one will miss her around here, I emailed her and told her so. I plan to keep in touch with her outside of here, she is a sweet and thoughtful person and with or without a band she is a band sister. I am not here as much as before the last big blowup, nasty things were said and people were attacked in every direction. I post 99% positive supportive things and even I was getting nasty PM's. There are a few people that felt that they could come in and take over LBT, that in my opinion was wrong and people that I care about were hurt and ended up leaving. I considered leaving in April but because of Paula and several others kind PM's and emails I have stayed. I am not here nearly as much as before and I don't think I ever will be a "regular" here again. I guess I was tired of people that were not banded telling me that what I was doing was wrong or telling people that I had given bad advice. I look at it like this, I lost 75 pounds in 1 year, I know that is "only average" but I am tickled pink about it. I know that others have lost much more much faster, but this isn't a race. I am only 20 pounds from goal and I have my life back, that's what it's all about to me. Not the games that the people here play. I come here to help newbies and to stay in touch with my friends. I miss the LBT that I joined last year. I don't think it will ever be the same and I really think that is why Lisa left, she too saw the changes as being permanent. I'm not saying that I know for sure why she left, and I'm not claiming to speak for her, but I know that she is missed by at least me and several others. ~Mandy
